  1. I don't necessarily need all the bells and whistles, although I would say it's a plus to have usb and hdmi connectivity.
  2. I'm running a pair of rf-82's, an rw-12 and an rc-62. I'm looking for a great all around receiver. I listen to mostly music by turntable and ipod with about 25% watching movies. What do you recommend for a receiver that best compliments my setup? I'd like to keep it around $1000...Thanks!
  3. Good advice, going to order one. What do you guys do about one subwoofer for two sources?
  4. Ok so this might be a silly question. I've got a pair of Rf-82's and two sources, a home theater receiver and a stereo receiver. Sometimes I like to watch movies and will use the home theater, and other times music which I prefer to run through my stereo receiver. What is the best way to connect both systems to my speakers that still easily allow me to switch between both sources? Thanks!
  5. do the reference series have price swings like this as well?
  6. The most newbie question: how the heck does one edit their profile? I couldn't figure it out lol[:$]
  7. colter: you think i should sell my rf-62's in favour of the rs-64 surrounds? Why is that? James: yeah its a local dealer, mind u i'm up in canada and we always pay more for goods than u fellow americans.
  8. Well i ordered the rc-64 today, and im going to pick up the rf-63's soon. What do you think of $1750+tax for the rf63's? Good price?
  9. Well in the last month i have owned two receivers with my rf 62's. Pioneer 1016, and hk avr 340. i traded my 1016 in for the 340 and am much happier with the sound from the hk. As well as the hk has more power.
  10. OK I've decided to go with the new reference series for my home theater, so far I have 2-rf 62's, rw 12d and harman kardon avr340. I would say I use my system 50% 2 ch. music and 50% movies. Now I'm kinda at a crossroads for my next purchase. Don't get me wrong, I love my floorstanders, but I kinda want more (I think that might be from hangin around here lately [] ) now here are my options 1. Stick with the recommended system and buy rc62, and rs 52's and call it a day 2. Go for the gold and buy rf-63's mains, use my rf62's for surrounds and buy the rc-64 Now I know most will say go for the rf 63's, but i do have some concerns. First of all can my receiver power such a system? What makes the rf-63's worth $1000 more than the rf-62's? Will my sub be able to keep up with this system? Are the rf-62's good for surrounds since they are much more "directional" than the rs series surrounds? Reason I want to upgrade to the rf-63's cause I'm really desiring more for 2 ch. music. I never push my speakers to really loud levels, I just want more clarity and a more "full" sound. Would I be much more satisfied with the 63's? thanks for your input
  11. I would say that we both have very similiar listening environments, both hardwood floors and both very little sound absorption (if thats the right term) he even has a ping pong table set up in front of the speakers How would volume control affect the sound quality? Has anybody used the same make of receiver and just moved up in model and noticed a big difference in SQ?
  12. well i usually listen to music at around -15, do you think my hk avr 340 is underpowering my rf 62's? Should i maybe stay with hk but just upgrade to a more powerful receiver?
  13. My father and I both own Klipsch setups. He has RB 81 speakers, RW10d sub, Marantz "PM7001 Integrated Amplifier" http://us.marantz.com/Products/1647.asp, and a Marantz cd player. I own RF62's, RW12D, Harman Kardon avr340 http://www.harmankardon.com/product_detail.aspx?Region=USA&Country=CA&Language=ENG&cat=REC∏=AVR%20340&sType=C, and a Pioneer DVD player. Now today I listened to both systems and I notice that my dads system does sound better (CD music comparisons), and the volume only needs to be 1/4 of the way up for the same volume as i'm getting 3/4 of the way up. I know the Marantz has 70w/channel and my hk has 55/channel. Now do you think his speakers are superior, or his amp, should I maybe look to upgrade my hk avr 340 for my setup. (Just want to win in this father son competition [] thanks
