  4. Somewhere in this forum I read that Johnny needs to be helped on and off of the stage now. Hey guys, our music idols are getting really really old these days.
  5. Just out. I think exclusively at Best Buy. The Biggest Bang.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> It is great. Over 7 ½ hours on 4 DVD Audio discs. Has over 4 hours of music including some new songs never released before. Also has the 2006 Super Bowl performance on it. Has Dolby 5.1 and DTS Surround sound. The boys are in top form. This may trump the Four Flicks DVDs from a few years ago. And get this...................................all of this for under $30 at Best Buy right now.!!!! Get it or be square.!!!! Rolling Stones Forever.!!!!! The Rolling Stones are the Greatest Rock 'n Roll Band in the world.!!!!
  6. Be careful. There is a lot of variety in the JLL product. Originally there was a CD last Fall with about 22 songs done, I believe in a studio. Now Jerry has released a DVD and a DVD & CD combo called "Last Man Standing Live". The CD with the DVD has 8 additional songs not on the DVD nor the original CD. I love JLL. He is one of the original greatest.
  7. Your Cedar idea could be a million dollar idea. I'm not kidding.!!!!! You'll have the women lining up for your Cedar Speakers.
  8. DrWho I don't understand your question. Wouldn't playing only the second sub be a lot like when I only had one sub? Since the two subs are identical wouldn't I have already experienced the sound of only one sub? Was there some other meaning to your question? PLACEMENT The second one may be in a more "optimal" spot. Well EAR, did I mention 130 pounds? I am a 60 year old with a bad back. I know that placement is important but basically they are sitting where they were first placed. Did I mention heavy? Yes, I will experiment with different locations just as soon as I finish my weight lifting course so that I can budge these heavy subs. I've said it before. Lifting and moving an f-113 is a lot like lifting and moving a Sumo wrestler.
  9. Do you have any way to measure the frequency sound levels of one vs. two? I'm interested in whether you are experiencing any frequency cancellation with the two speakers side-by-side. Some say that it is not a good idea to use two of a speaker model for the center channel. Just wondering.
  10. What you need to do is just set everything up in the living room while the parents are asleep or outta the house. At least it worked when I was still living at home. [] .....and put some soothing music on when your parents return home. Offer them a drink and a comfortable seat. Offer to do the dishes for them. They will come around.
  11. Fritz is right about all of the above. The nice thing about solid wood is that you have the ability to shape it ways that you can't do with plywood or veneered MDF such as rounded over edges. Other problems with plywood is the expense of void free material. I know from experience that regular hardwood veneer plywood from your local Home Depot or Lowes is not going to be void free or as dense as MDF. I have read that although musical insterments are made from hardwood speakers should not be because the wood colors the sound. I just built a pair of single driver speakers using solid hardwood though and they sound great. Sounds like a draw between MDF & solid wood as to sound quality.

  13. Every so often in life we need to say "Enough". The two f-113s have ended my search for the perfect bass. I am bass-satisfied..............................................................................................................for now.
  14. I have them on the main wall. One each next to my main speakers slightly away from the corners. All I did was place them in position, run the room equalization program, and play them. No other adjustments were made. The result of adding the second sub was: 1. Non-localization of the sound 2. A smoothing of the low frequencies 3. Louder and stronger bass I haven't tinkered yet with phase or polarity or crossover points or different locations in the room. Apparently the sound will only improve as I tinker.
  15. I wonder what happens if you lie on the floor and place a sub up against each ear and play music? Would you ever actually get up off of the floor?
  16. Thank you Christy. I apologize for the mis-spelling.
  17. Great I am happy for you. The f-113 seems to be a really good sub. I now have two of them.
  18. Was this picture taken using a telephoto lens or were you that close to the snakes?
  19. Gee, you think maybe Paul is a Baltimore Colts fan?
