  1. As I research more I'm finding that some say yamaha doesn't sound so good with Klipsch speakers. Pioneer seems to be a popular choice. Thought's...
  2. Well believe it or not I've decided on a receiver. I don't think I've mentioned this receiver...Yamaha RX-V1600. Any thought's on my decision... Haven't purchased it yet.
  3. Thanks for the suggestions/advice! Today a co-worker suggested Denon...adding even more confusion to my search for another receiver. This maybe a stupid question, but here goes. Is there any specfic brand of receiver that goes better with Klipsch speakers? As I read the post I really didn't see a trend in brand. I noticed a lot of coversation about Yamaha, Denon, HK, Onkyo. Thanks again to all.
  4. I've narrowed my slection down to four: Onkyo TX-SR604, Onkyo TX-SR674, HK AVR 245, Pioneer Elite VSX-80TXV.
  5. jerohm, Thanks for the advice. As I've stated my knowledge in receivers is limited. When you talk about video switching, can you explain what you mean. What is better? I don't really need all the latest bells/whistles, a few would be cool, just clean, crisp sound when watching movies/sports/listening to music. I do want good equipment!!
  6. I've narrowed my slection down to four: Onkyo TX-SR604, Onkyo TX-SR674, HK AVR 245, Pioneer Elite VSX-80TXV. I'm new to the site. I've owned Kilpsch speakers for as long as I can remember and my surround sound is all Kilpsch. I've decided it's time to upgrade my receiver and I would like some help choosing a new one. I have a Sony STR-DE945 receiver I bought sometime in early 2000, so my knowledge in receivers is limited. I'm not crazy about the Sony. My TV is a 55 inch Sony Wega HDTV. I use my surround system for movies/music/tv. Price range: $500-600 Thanks in advance!
