  1. One of a kind . It was used as a test bed by klipsch for the RF 7 II series. As you can see the back plate is square not round. I bought the cabinet from a klipsch employee years ago.The orginal cross over was used with black Kevlar woofers. No shipping, pick up Dallas area. Might be able to deliver in the Houston area as well.

  4. Years ago a dear friend of mine was kind enough to pre cut some beautiful burlwood wood venner to redo a set of RF 7.There is enough to do a Pair of RF 7, a RC 7, a RSW 15 and probably more. This is what they use to make cabinets in multi million dollars aircraft, this is not the cheap stuff. Unfortunately the project never took place Due to some personal matter, I only have a little time left and it is doubtful that I will ever get this done, so here it is. I will not ship, Dallas area pick up only

  8. Good shape. $ 450 plus shipping. Local pick up in the Dallas area welcome. I also have a lightly modified cherry RF 7. It was used as test speaker by klipsch for the new RF 7 II design. It has all the RF 7 II component, including cross over , but the crosser over plate looks more like a RF 3. It also came with carbon woofers instead of copper. I will post pictures later. for quicker answer contact me at terrypierard@hotmail.com
  9. What is the point of buying something because it is the best deal but you end up not liking it? Nothing wrong with Emotiva, it is a nice product but you might just be getting what you paid for and not much more. You are well aware of what is available as well as your limitations. With that said and keeping in mind your price range, check out the Marantz MM 8003. A used one will sale for a lot less and leave plenty room for future expension. I have tried a lot of amps over the years ( yamaha, denon, Harman Kardon, Kenwood etc. ). While it is matter of preference, I always liked the HK for music( warmer sound) and Marantz for movies.
  10. I had one for a few years, rocking the house it sure did. Plenty bass, but not really tight or deep. Overall it was a good sub but not great. The RSW 12, and RSW 15 are definitely a better upgrade.
  11. I have bought and sold, including shipped to the new buyer, four RC 7 and 3 RC 64 over the years. I never had one damaged yet. I always use the original packing, then wrap the box in 2' inches thick insulating foam, and double box the all thing. Those things are price less to me
  12. The RF-3's bass response performs better at higher levels. A sub will do just fine for levels lower and movies, but music playback - the RF-3 shines when the volume level is higher. That is a true. Do not misunderstand what I said, by no means the bass is bad on the RF3 but if you really really had to come up with something about it, the bass is what most people have brought up. I never had any issues with the bass on mine, but I do not use a wall mart receiver either. The RF-3's bass response performs better at higher levels. A sub will do just fine for levels lower and movies, but music playback - the RF-3 shines when the volume level is higher. I would have to disagree with that statement. It is interesting to see how a few years ago the RF 3 was recognized as solid performer speaker, it was even seen as the best bang for your buck, yet today it is " questionable". Most people have said that if there was a short coming with the RF3 it would the bass, most of the time this was due to crappy receiver being used, but it is nothing that a good sub can not fix. The RC 3 was usually the weak part of that set up. You got a great set up at a bargain price. If you have any desire to upgrade I would recommend to replace the RC 3 with a RC 7 and you will be set. http://s270.photobucket.com/user/falcon20x/media/IMG_2792.jpg.html hey falcon please read it carefully. He asked if he upgraded. From what I've read the vf-3x series are fantastic speakers. So the main as an upgrade may be questionable, however the center and surrounds will be for sure over the much smaller icon stuff. But the rf-3 are a smaller speaker than what he came from. I' m looking to argue but let me point out something here. I understand the question and your response to it being that the RF 3 is a questionable upgrade over the VF35 due to the fact that you " heard " that the vf 3x serie is a fantastic speaker. Have you "listen" to them and compare them them side by side, or is your only point of reference is the difference in "size" of the speakers? While, I don' t disagree that the vf35 is a good speaker, in my opinion calling the RF 3 a questionable upgrade is incorrect. I base my statement on the fact that , including owning both speakers, running them in the same room with the same equipment and listening to the same material, I actually heard them.
  13. I saw that RC 7 with DeanG cross over upgrade in the for sale section. One mistake I made was to buy one of those upgraded RC 7, the biggest mistake I ever made was to sell it. Once you have a DeanG cross over upgrade, you know what you were missing. The upgrade was well worth it

  15. Did you try to do a hard reset on the unit? Marantz has it built in on the newer units. May be this one had it too. It worked on my SR7005
  16. I just noticed " Klipsch forum lifer" above the photo I have been away for a long time, but I tried check the posts now and then. I still truly enjoy my system and I did get to visit the Klipsch museum in Hope last year!
  17. Wow Very nice! I remember your first post asking how to build the room like it was yesterday. You have come a long way since those days.
  18. Very nice! You have come along way since your first day on this forum lol
  19. I do believe it! I went through somewhat the same process. The first time I auditionned the rf 83 I was blown away. My set up worked well with my rf 3 , so I reused the same system but i could never get the same result. I tried erything, change the room, cables, room acoustics but nothing really worked. Something always felt missing. I finally upgraded the system a few weeks ago, I bought the same amplifier and newer preamp but the same brand that what I had listen to during the first audition. The result amazing, the difference is incredible. Even the image processing is so much better. Glad you finally get to enjoy yours
