  1. Hi everybody, been a while since I have posted anything, and I am still looking for the right choices for my home theater. Now, I am on somewhat of a budget, and while I would like something from the Reference line, I am intrigued by the sound of the Synergy line, particularly while listening to them the other day at Best Buy. Specifically I am referring to the F-3's up front, C-3 center, and the S-3 surrounds with a S-12 sub for a 5.1 config. How do these guys compare to the higher reference models? I know these are the "budget" choices, but I was wondering if there was substantial value to be found here. The room these will be going into is 11 ft wide, by 14 ft long with a 8 ft ceiling. Seating will be 13 ft away from the front wall, with a 92" screen. I just want the biggest sound I can afford, with great imaging and clear dialogue at all sound levels. Would be listening to ht movies, concert dvd's and dvd-audio and sacd's. I will be pairing these speakers most likely with a Yamaha RX-V863 receiver. I would also like the biggest bang for the buck for my room. I would appreciate any help or advice you guys can offer. Thanks everybody!
  2. Hello fellas, okay I am going back and forth on speaker choices. My room dimensions again, are: 12 ft wide, 14 ft long with a 7ft ceiling. I am currently looking at bookshelves, because I do not know if my room will be overpowered by large towers. Yet, while lokking at the RB-81 bookshelf system, I find myself longing for the Rc-64 center for that system. I this a good match? I really want clarity and depth to my dialogue, yes it may may be overkill compared to the RC-62, but if there is one speaker I want to go overboard with, it would be the center. The other system I was eyeballing would be the RF-63 system, with the RC-64 center, and the RF-52 system I just saw reviewed in Perfect Vision. Now, I have not had a chance to listen to any of these bad boys yet, but I will be checking out a store in Roayl Oak, MI here next week that sells Klipsch. We will see I guess, but if anyone has any suggestions......
  3. Okay, I just saw your thread in the other post that I made earlier. Would it be better to drywall the ceiling instead of using the drop ceiling tiles? Please let me know, thanks.
  4. Hi guys, thanks for the advice...keep opinions comin gplease. Okay as far as the system I am leaning towards the Klipsch RF-63 system: 2 RF-63, 1 RC-64, 2 RS-62 and the RT-10d sub. I heard that I could possbily get a good deal on them in my area. But keep on coming with the ideas, fells. And thank you all very much.
  5. Hello, everyone! I am new to the forum, having just joined yesterday. I am hoping someone will offer some speaker recommmendations for my setup: 12 ft wide room, 14.6 ft long, with a 7 ft ceiling. The seating will be 11 to 12 ft back from a 100" diagonal Stewart Firehawk SST screen. The walls could be made from Quietrock 545 THX, and the drop ceiling black contour tiles will be courtesy of Acoustical Solutions. This room wil be in my basement with no windows, and a Dri-Core subfloor underneath looped, Stainmaster carpeting. Now, i have a pretty good budget for speakers (around $4500-5000) so please, anything that anyone can think of, please suggest. I appreciate any and all advice. Thanks.
  6. Thank you all for the great suggestions! I am thinking about flipping the room dimensions around, so that the room will be 12 ft wide, and 14.6 ft long to acomodate seating and spatiality for the surrounds. I stll like the idea of a 100" diagonal, but this setup will give me room in the back end behind the seating, probably around 3 and half feet. And yes I am all about big center channels, I recently read a great review on the RC-64, and I would like to audition the RC-63.
  7. Thank you Sir! All good suggestions. I have been playing with the idea of going 92" diagonal instead, and sitting 10 to ten a half feet back. And Imight just end up using four recliners, instead of five. And I was planning on building an alcove to house components. I am htinkin gof using a Denon 2807 or Denon 4306 receiver. Budget is not really a concern, however I would like to keep it under $4000 for the speakers.
  8. Hello, everyone. Happy to be a member of this forum. I was hoping to get some advice on a system I wil be building here shortly. It will be a dedicated home theater, 12 ft long, 14.6 ft wide, with a 7 ft ceiling. The room will be totally light controlled, with medium to dark walls, and a black ceiling and black wall where 100" diagonal screen will be hanging. The projector being used will be a Sony VPL-VW50 Pearl projector, and the screen will be either a Stewart Firehawk SST, Carada Brilliant White, or Da Lite Cinema Vision. The seating will be 11ft back in Berkline 45004 group leather recliners (five of them), and the ceiling will be a drop ceiling courtesy of Acoustical Solutions. This room will be in the basement with no windows, and have a Dri-Core subfloor underneath Stainmaster carpet, and the walls wil be double drywalled, and perhaps decoupled from the wall studs using hat channel. My question is this; which Klipsch system will sound best in this spatially challenged setup? I want dialogue to sound clear and unmuffled at all sound levels, something that is subtle and that will rock when required, and form factor is really not an issue, I will work with whatever works. I will watch fifty per cent movies and thirty per cent concerts, and the other 20 per cent regular broadcast tv. Again, I qm not concerned with form factor, and neither is my wife (thank God), so whatver works is what I will get (either big towers or bookshelf). Please, if anyone can provide some direction, help or advice just let me know. Thanks, everyone and again I am proud to be a part of this forum.
