  1. yeah, I tried everything, new update.......I was trying it again last night and when I turned it on, there was a zap sound inside and it completely shut down. I contacted Klipsch last week when this all started and they informed me they don't have parts for it anymore. So any recommendations for a new replacement? Been eyeing the SVS SB2000
  2. I bought this RSW-10D new many years ago and have had zero issues with it. The other night while watching a movie, the power kept cycling on and off about every 3-5 seconds. I have checked all the connections inside the enclosure and outside and do not see anything lose or bad looking. Any ideas what could be happening? It literally has worked perfectly for years then out of the blue started doing this. On a side note, I do not drive this sub very hard ever, just normal loud volume at most, nothing near its limits.
  3. I agree, I recently bought an RSW-10d, for the price range area of around 1100.00 and considering the size of the unit itself, its an amazing sub.
  4. I tried using my Denon receiver "auto set-up" feature with the supplied microphone. The whole system sounds alot better with movies than the way I had the settings. My question is on the front speaker size setting, it set them to "Large" and the center to "Small", before I had everything set to "Small" and let the sub handle the lower freq., It sounds better with the fronts to Large, do I need to set the sub (RSW-10d) to a crossover setting now? it was set with LFE off before. The receiver also set itself to LFE+norm, the other option is LFE+main, which one would normally be better in my situation? my equipment is as follows in a fairly small room ( 13 x 12 ) Denon 1907 KG 2.5 fronts SC 1 center KG .5 rears RSW-10d sub
  5. I see the RSW-10d for 700.00-800.00 occasionally, I was able to pick one up locally as an open box item, the top of the box was only opened, it was never even taken out of the box, the original customer wanted the 12, so he refused it. I got it for $479.00!
  6. funny thing is, I have wood floors and had to put carpet under my RSW-10d just to keep it from walking all over the floor. I didnt really notice any sound difference though
  7. Just spoke with Klipsch, they are simply sending me a new driver.
  8. yes with the grill off it still rattles, this is a rear firing sub with a front passive radiator also, the sound is coming from the rear woofer not the PR.
  9. I have a new RSW-10d, it about 2 weeks old and today I noticed that there is a sound, the best way to describe it is a rattle. It happens at a strange frequency also, it doesnt happen during "low, low" sounds and not at the higher freq. also it doesnt happen when the driver is pushing very far as far as distance. Any ideas, should I be concerned, if I put my ear to the woofer it sounds very centralized to the speaker as opposed to a rattle from a loose screw or seal or something.
  10. I was running a Paradigm sub and just switched to a RSW-10d and the change was amazing, its sound is so much better than the average Paradigm sub. I always thought it sounded good before but now its a whole different experience. All my movies and music are a joy to listen to again
  11. I had to put my RSW-10d on a peice of carpet, I have wood floors and the sub itself was moving all over the place on the wood. I didnt notice any difference in sound though.
  12. I would say it could depend on your receiver, I have a Denon, and once you go past 0db on the level setting for any speaker, it will "limit" the max volume from the receiver. I have my RSW-10d set at -6db on the sub, and that gives me alot of room with the receiver before I hit the 0db setting, usually the receiver is around -7 db, but if more sub is needed than I have some volume I can add through the receiver setting for the sub.
  13. Auditioning speakers at Best Buy is completely absured to begin with. And judging the sound quality in a place like that is just as bad. I just got a RSW-10d Klipsch sub last week and at the store it sounded pretty lousy, the Sub 10 played way louder and actually sounded better in the store. When I got the RSW home, it was apparent it was a better sounding sub.
  14. I know that this is a question with alot variables for an answer and is subjective, but I am setting up RSW-10d, and I am curious, what is the general rule for a distance of how far to have the sub placed way from the main wall. Should it be close to the wall(2-3 inches) or further away(5-10 inches) or even further? Just need a little starting point to go from. This sub has the main Sub firing out the back towards the wall and a front passive radiator. TIA
  15. I agree, I dont see how they made any money off me, I think some the guys above didnt realize what sub it was exactly.
  16. yeah, its definately the RSW-10d, not the other ones, I knew it was a steal when he said the price they would give it to me for. I dont know how they made any money on it, but its in my living room now so I am really not too concerned about their profits. Funny thing is back in 94' (?) I bought a Carver 490T single disc, tube cd player from them. I think it was retailing for around $800.00 at the time, I was able to get them to sell me one new for $400.00. They are a rather large company, so maybe they just buy quantities that allow them some room?
  17. thanks, I understand every room, listening ear and so on is different. I just needed some "beginning" settings to get me at least along a correct path.
  18. I just got a RSW 10d this weekend and could use a little help setting it up. I have a Denon 1906, front speakers are KG 2.5, rears are KG .5 and the center is a SC1 Should I set the speakers at "small" setting or have the fronts set to large? Should I set the sub setting on the receiver at LFE+main or just LFE? Around what crossover settings should I set the receiver to? Do I also need to set the crossover on the sub as well? And last, which input should I use on the sub? the left or right? one is LFE the other is main. I have read a few articles on this, but I am still lost TIA
  19. well, I also am no audiophile by any means, but I just just got a RSW 10d, and it is amazing. My room is a little smaller than yours but it would do fine in a larger room with no problems.
  20. It is the RSW-10d, retails for 1199.00, see link below for details. https://www.klipsch.com/products/details/rsw-10d.aspx
  21. I have been using some older KG 2.5's for the fronts, and .5 for the rears, and an SC1 for the center. I might be getting some other models to go with the sub...any suggestions? It a fairly small room maybe 13 x 13
  22. I just got a Klipsch RSW-10d subwoofer, for 479.00 new! I went to a local store today looking for a new Klipsch sub, after a few demos the salesman said they were doing a custom install yesterday at a home and when they got there they opened the box to install the sub and the customer noticed it was a 10d, he actually ordered the 12d, so it was an "open box" item, and they gave it to me for $479.00 literally brand new!!!!
