  1. What is a good price for a slightly used Cherry Heresy III speaker? I am looking at a set and he has $650 on them, sound good?
  2. I am in Indianapolis right now, and am moving to Ohio this week...I graduated and got a job! I will be back and fourth though...(family) Also, I plan on going to the Klipsch get together here in a few weeks...so that would be an excellent time to get the speakers. As long as I am posting a want add...if someone has a Mcintosh C27 or C29 I'd be interested too...lol. I have high asperations of things to get in the future...I've got the bug!
  3. Hello all, I am looking for a black RC-7 if any of you forum members have one lying around...I have been out foxed or outbid on both craigslist and ebay...and am getting frustrated...lol (I like to use the triple period things...) At a future date, I will probably be looking for at least one or two pairs of RS-7's for surrounds. So if anybody has those up for grabs, let me know! Thanks
  4. Don't get me wrong...I would rather listen to all the pre-amps in a a/b/c/d/x test...lol. But I don't know how I would accomplish that, it's not like Best Buy has them available for loan.
  5. I am an engineer...so most of what I Iook at in day are specs to determine what is best...lol. Like I said though the 27 and 29 seem to be holding their own with me based on the features, user opinion, as well as the specs...so for now i think they will remain at the top of the list.
  6. Hey...thanks for the input. I have looked at Roger Russell's Page, and have chosen my list based on the specs/features of each. I like the # of aux inputs of the 28 and 29, but the specs for the distortion, etc of the 27 and 29. Therefore I have the 29 and 27 at the top...and the other two are essentially there if I find a steal. I hadn't put much thought into the 26 after seeing its limited features and mildly less desirable specs to the 27/29. And hopefully with the advice of you more seasoned audio enthusiasts as well as my research...I won't have to learn by fire too much. Thanks!
  7. It looks like the order I'd like to get them would be the C29, C27, C28, and C26 if I stay with the proper vintage. If anybody has these up for grabs...I'd be interested.
  8. I plan on going to the certified shop, thanks! Anybody else have some thoughts on the preamps?
  9. Any thoughts on which pre-amp to go with the 2125...i looked at the roger russell page and it looks like there are a few that would work with this amp. I'd like to stay within a similar vintage...so that narrows it down to the C-26 through C-29. Any thoughts on the specifics between these four? The C-29 looks the best based on small distortion and lots of inputs...but do the earlier models offer other advantages not showing up in the specs? The C-30 may also be an option (I like the more dynamic eq controls) I'd rather save up and buy something that I will keep for a while than purchase something and want to upgrade later.
  10. Well the left side is mostly blue, but the right side isn't at all. And it does completely light up...just some cosmetic problems that need to be fixed. I plan on taking it into the tech in a few weeks. Thanks for the enthusiasm!
  11. Sounds good, I'd deffinatly be interested in hearing it...and maybe i can scrape up some money by then...lol
  12. The amp sounds very good with the RF-7's. Probably not going to be the way I pair it up in the future...I'd like to get some heritage lines for that. But for now I am very pleased. The issue with the left volume gain is probably fixable with the deoxit (just a little scratchiness). Also the right meter is not that blue when you turn it on (I don't know how you would fix that) Either way I am very happy with the purchase. I had been running my RF-7's through a home theater in a box receiver, and this is a major step up. Now i just need to find a pre-amp/receiver that will give me the ability to dial in the sound, but to get something on the level of this amp may take me a while...lol
  13. No, I purchased it...not knowing if I should or not...sorry it was late when I posted and I may have been unclear.
  14. Found some equipment locally...didn't know if it would be wise to try to purchase...or if I went for the integrated amp would be better option....thoughts? Also, if you are interested you are more than welcome to make me an offer. Parasound Amps;HCA-1206 and HCA-1200 II 2 Thiel CS3's Faroudja VP400 Video Processor
  15. Hey all, I just picked up a Mcintosh 2125 locally. It functions well and sounds great...a few replaced pots and it will be nearly perfect. Anybody know anything about this guy? Is it an amp to live with for years?
  16. Well I can see that they are in different leagues, however i guess my issue is what league should I put myself in. Also any thoughts on the rf-63 would help too
  17. Hey, New to the forum...I auditioned the 82's and they sounded great. Great price too. But I am wondering if the Rf-7's may be a better option and nobody around here has any to listen to. I want a set of speakers I can keep and be happy with and fill any sized room I put them in. The 82's were lacking in the bottom for me, but I plan on putting a sub with them later. The problem is do I want to spend the extra 500-600 for the rf-7. can anybody shed some light on if it may be worth it?
