  1. Zappa, It is my understanding that they will work with Khorns. Per my conversation with ALK, these can be dropped in where the squaker can play down to 500 hz, which it can in the case of Khorn. That being said, I'm not 100% sure whether the bassbin of the Khorn can play upto 500hz. If it can, then yes these can be employed within Khorn. ALK's website suggests these to be a perfect upgrade to the Klipsch Belle and La Scala. Just a reminder, these will allow for: i) a stepped upgrade: one can upgrade the Squaker/Bassbin with these now and at a later date upgrade the tweeter/squaker. ii) A 2-way system, with bassbin playing upto 500Hz and the 2" driver playing from 500Hz and up. For example one of the many combinations with Dave's fractrac horns. I'm hoping that at only $200, at least someone would want to try these out. If I'm not mistaken, the parts alone exceed $200.
  2. Thanks Budman - good point. Based on Al's website, the AP-12 500 are best suited for upgrading La Scala and Belle. I know few fellow forum members also used them successfully in 2-way Cornwall System, where a 2" driver was employed from 500Hz up. These crossovers are ideal any setup where the squaker will safely play down to 500Hz.
  3. Available for sale ALK Eng. AP12-500 crossover. They currently sell for $350+Shipping . Not sure about a fair price, but I was thinking $200+Shipping? Thanks, D
  4. Available for sale is our stereo console. This is no ordinary stereo console. A lot of time was spent refurbishing the unit. The entire unit was sanded 100 grit, 150 grit, 220 grit, and finished with 2 coats of Waterlox Original Sealer and 2 coats of Waterlox Satin Finish. Next, the internal non-working woofer tweeters were removed and replaced with Audio Nirvana Super-10 full range drivers, which cost me $325. These are highly efficient (96db?) full-range drivers and have a near perfect balance between bass and top-end. I then removed the internal tube-amplifier with Lepai T-amp (with an average rating of 4.4 / 5 by 340 users). This amp provides plenty of power for the Audio Nirvana drivers. To make the use of the unit more convenient, I next installed a bluetooth adapter (HomeSpot - with an average rating of 4.0 / 5 by 5,403 users on Amazon). The turntable was also removed and a shelf was installed. The console is now used as a bar and music system. It is really a great addition to any mid-century decor. Unfortunately, we have to sell given that we just purchased a new dining set, which included a large credenza. We are hoping to take delivery of our new set within the new few weeks This by no means will replace your current Klipsch system, but it serves a different purpose (bar/stereo/decor) . Not sure what is a fair price, but I have it listed for $750 on local CL.I will gladly make a deal with fellow forum members.
  5. Man - only 7 hours away. So tempting!
  6. Hi All, Yes, these were sold a long time back. FWIW, didn't really add (or remove) anything in my setup. Over the years, I realized that I just don't have a decerning ear (despite not being too old - early 30s). I've tried footers, platforms, expensive cables, budget cables, 2" compression drivers, Be - diaphragms, super expensive crossovers, etc, etc. - and yes one might find a marginal improvement, but NOTHING that was ever worth the price for ME. I know there are many others that are happy to $1,000s of a 0.1% improvement in their system - but I've stopped doing that in the recent past. I honestly believe, that a moderate litening levels (where most people listen to their music for an extended time), My Klipchorns Cornwalls + NOSValves Refurbishted Eico system provided 99% of the performance of my Klipschorns+ALK ES Crossovers+Voti Audio 2" Horns+ BMS Drivers+all "audiophile" cables At super loud levels, the Klipshorn system excelled - but rarely did I ever push my system to that level. Hopefully this post doesn't offend anyone - just sharing my experience.
  7. Any interest in Elemental Design Subwoofer Equialized - $100+shipping? The picture below is not mine but should give you an idea of what it is and what it can do.
  8. I've attented our annual Capital AudioFest for the past 4/5 years. Everytime, I ranked Joseph Audio at the very top. This is coming from a guy who been horn-speaker lover for a decade.
  9. I have a friend who has been looking for used Joseph Audio speakers. I'll reach out to him and point him to this thread.
  10. Marty - sorry to hear about the CIDP. Hope things turn around soon. Quick question about the build - were they built with baltic birch plywood?
  11. Haha - I guess. I don't mind sharing on this forum that the reserve is set to $650. Is that really asking too much for these amps? Epay and paypal together will take a chuck out of that (say $100), leaving net sale proceeds of approximately $550.
  12. ENDING TODAY - GET 'EM CHEAP!! - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Don-Allen-Darling-1626-Monoblock-Tube-Amplifier-Fantastic-Sound-/271973084607

  14. Joe, The tubes are as follows: Tung-sol: CTL-1626 RCA:6BC8 Sylvania: 6BY5 Additionally, if one was interested a purchasing these under a payment plan, say 25% of cost per month over the next four months, I will even be willing to accomodate that (though I will request you have at least 1,000 posts on this site).
  15. BUMP! I need these to move - at this point, I'm open to reasonable offers. There sound truly amazing for my already low asking price. I'm so confident that you will love these that, if you are in the MD/DC/VA are, I will even let you audition in YOUR system before committing to purhcase.
  16. Have for sale a HSU VTF3-MK2 subwoofer for sale. It has a bad amp. I called HSU and they can repair it for $140 + shipping. Alternatively - you can get one of their new amp modules for $250. Considering the above, you can have a fantastic subwoofer for $265 to $375. HSU is one of the most respected names on subwoofers. Local pickup in MD/DC/VA only
  17. Bump - see reduced price in post #9 above.
  18. Just wanted to add that I'm willing to consider partial trades for the following items: - subwoofer drivers (pair required) - high power solid state amplifier for bass duty - Acoustic Elegance TD15H drivers (pair required) - and maybe, a preamp with dual outputs. I may consider other items, but the above is really what I'm after
  19. Long overdue bump. See picture of the underside below. PRICE DROP: $725+shipping. Also, willing to consider partial trades for Lab12 woofers
