I get the anti-tone control folks but well designed/implemented tone controls like what the Yamaha A-S1000 through A-S3200 have are really nice and the "best" I have ever used. Tiny adjustments really can make a difference(to me) without bloating or negatively transforming the character of the amp.

Believe me that these Yamaha integrated amps are pretty darn potent even though spec'd at mimimum 90w/150w. They all test at minimum 110w/170w all day long. They will have an easy time with Cornwalls. Your ears will give out before the Yamaha even breaks a sweat.
A-S1200 test
8 Ω (2 x 110 W), 4 Ω (2 x 172 W)
A-S1100 test
8 Ω (2 x 110W), 4 Ω (2 x 193 W)
Above tests from different publications so measuring methods may explain the higher 4 ohms test for the A-S1100.

I went two rounds with the oil, salt, potato peel method and about 45 minutes at 400 degrees F in the oven to finish it off.
A little blotchy on the edges due to splatter but still very non stick.

I have been a cast iron pan nut for the last couple of years and have a few different pans in my collection, vintage Lodge, Griswold, Wagner, BSR and modern Lodge. Love them all and use some of them very often. Also recently and somewhat reluctantly(wife wanted) added some All Clad hard anodized non stick pans, 8", 10", 12" to the mix. Surprising, I like them and use them more than my wife.
Since I was kind of on a role, and have been researching for quite some time, I pulled the trigger on my first carbon steel pan. Since my primary use will be for searing steaks, I chose this one for a very attractive price.
Any folks with experience with De Buyer or any other brands please chime in with your thoughts or suggestions.

Some speakers are voiced to emphasize the low end, midrange, or highs. Maybe the Cornwall IVs are so well balanced that none of the frequency regions over power the other.

I know all things are subjective here but I have owned a few Denon integrated amps(PMA-1080R, PMA-700V, PMA-750, PMA-757, etc.) from the 80's/90's and they totally rocked with Quartets, Fortes, and Heresys). Great tonal quality with punchy fast bass. Super reliable.

I really do believe that the 440C and the 404C are more the same than different.
With that said, if they will fit, I say save up and go with the RP-504C or RP-450C. You would then not ask yourself "what if".
