  1. Love my La Scalas! Probably my most favorite Klipsch speaker I've owned.
  2. I believe this will be a good move as well. Just for kicks a few weeks ago I disconnected my RF-7’s and put the La Scals in their place.. As much as I love my 7’s there was no denying the improvement I heard. Larger sound stage, details in movies I’m familiar with were more prevalent, all around everything sounded better. Also I feel my sub blends better with the Scalas. I know single speakers are more difficult to come by but I figure I’d throw the thought out there. I’m in no rush anyhow.
  3. I'm just putting a feeler out there to see if there might be any in my area. I already have a pair, but I'm thinking about finding a third to do a LCR for my ht to maybe replace my RF-7 II's and RC-64 II. I'm in Southern Cali, Long Beach area. I would prefer the finish to be black to match my pair, but as long as its in good condition I'm not too picky.
  4. The Cornwall was the first Klipsch speaker I ever heard and I instantly fell in love with them. At the time the best I could do was a Heresy I found locally and that severed me well. After about a half a year later and some more money saved up I found a pair of cornwalls and like everyone else has said the difference is pretty substantial. Larger presence, deeper bass were the two things that first came to mind, and I was able to enjoy them for a good while. The only reason why I got rid of them was to help fund my wife's engagement ring 😃 Take some pics and lets us know what you think once you get them!
  5. What a deal! Congrats to both you guys! bkwa1959 you lucky dog, take some pics once you have everything setup!
  6. Is that the pair you got rid of?
  7. GLWS! What are you going to replace them with?
  8. Mark, its been awhile! Glad to see you posting again! Your setup looks great, and I'm sure sounds amazing. What happen to your Chorus'?
  9. How do they compare with the RF-7 II's?
  10. Congrats man! I love my Scalas, and I'm sure you'll love yours too for years to come. I've owned most of the Heritage line, and the La Scalas are my favorite of the bunch.

    BSOD, Win 7

Win 8.1 wouldn't be my first choice, but it'll be supported longer than 7. 10 isn't so bad, as long as you turn off most of the sharing your info with Microsoft options, but who really knows if MS will honor whatever privacy setting you set your computer to.

Glad you were able to get most of the dust out, that should help the fans and keep overall temps down. Do you know which series AMD proc that is? AMD's older lines aren't known for running cool, so that might be part of the problem right there. If you aren't looking to do a complete overhaul, you might want to look into investing a few buck into an aftermarket cooler. Thermaltake, Cooler Master, Corsair are just a few off the top of my head that I've had experience with that will do a much better job at cooling your proc than the stock heat sink and fan combo. Good aftermarket cooler isn't terribly expensive, you're probably looking at anywhere between $30-50 to do the job, and their not difficult to install. I haven't used FireFox in awhile, so I can't comment on what you're experiencing. If after your new OS install and Fire Fox is still a system resources hog, it might be a good idea to look at a new browser. I've had good luck with Chrome.

    BSOD, Win 7

My Evo 840 is the drive I format, and I've never run into a problem doing so. I have my own reasons for staying on Win 7, and would say if you can get more Product Key's for 7, jump on them. As always a good rule of thumb, if able, back up all your pertinent documents, photos, etc. have all your driver disks, or software on hand then commence with the re-install.
  14. Got these a few days ago from a local guy on the C-list. They're in pretty good condition, some minor scrapes here and there, but nonetheless presentable. For a mid size speaker they sure put out a lot of sound. Very pleased so far, they're a perfect fit for my living room. I had my Scalas in there, but my youngest was starting to notice them more and more and I didn't want to risk damaging them, and since the 5's were already a bit worn, I won't mind as much if the little lady at some point does some damage.

    BSOD, Win 7

Maybe a format might be in order. I format every year, to year and a half and it keeps things pretty smooth. Through a recent formatting I discovered Microsoft has posted download links to get the SP1 patch for Win 7 and other necessary updates to get the other critical updates going if whatever version of Win 7 you have doesn't start doing it on its own.

No problem, its called the Samsung Magician software, if you google that it'll take you to their website where you can download the file to install.
  17. Seems like black might be the winner here, and for the color scheme of the room, I think I would lean that way to. However, I personally own the cherry RF-7 II's and I love the finish on them. This is a picture of them at my old place, but you can get an idea of what the color looks like.

    BSOD, Win 7

I had some issues with my 840 evo drive. It would BSOD on me too from time to time. However I learned Samsung made a ssd software update to that drive specifically and once I had it installed I haven't had any problems since. I'm running Win 7 as well.
  19. I second calling Mike at acoustic sound design. I bought my whole RF speaker setup from him. All brand new A-stock gear at way cheaper prices than the msrp.
  20. They are, I'm just saying that for folks that are still using plasmas. As far as their cons go, like every TV YMMV. With my Panasonic, it does run a little warm, but not enough to dissuade me from using it. Short life span, maybe, but mine is coming up on five years and its working just as well as it always has.
  21. Don't forget to consider HDR and WCG capable tv's as well. Like others have said, and what I believe, plasma is still king. But TV's that have the aforementioned capabilities helps the LED's screens out.
  22. On a TV anyway, speaker and subs on the other hand..
