  1. That's pretty flippin' weird, somebody had to switch it.
  2. Eh, sorry to hear that man. I'm hopping to one day make it up the Khorn ladder, but keep looking, there people selling those bad boys pretty frequently, there's a couple on ebay right now I believe.
  3. congrats on your purchase, I've never heard a pair of chorus myself, but everyone here that has some swears by them. Hope you able to enjoy them for years to come!
  4. First of all, wow! thanks everyone for your replies I do appreciate it. And sorry for not getting back to ya'll sooner, work was crazy yesterday, and school is kicking my butt this semester, so my "me" time has been shortened considerably. Anyway, to answer NOSValaves question, I already have a Yamaha RX-V1700 thats powering my cornwalls , ( would I just hook up the tube amp to it? ) or would I just keep it as a separate unit? I'm a pretty hardcore newb when it comes to all this audio equipment so sorry for my ignorance in advance. Once I have some cash I can play with I'm looking at $300 max for my starter tube amp. Thanks again everyone, Andrew
  5. any suggestions? price would be helpful too, thanks!
  6. haha silly guy, I just got back from work and now I'm doing my usual unwinding by reading the forum.
  7. thanks for the compliments. I was searching for something that would go well in my.... I guess you can say rec room/gym/ have the friends over and chill room for a while now. I was looking at some other forte's but the fellow who was selling them was able to convince his wife to keep them for their ht setup, so good times for him, glad he was able to keep em. Luckily I found these on ebay last week and got them with the buy right now, I couldn't be more happy.
  8. And I am freaking loving them! I got them for $500 and they're just beautiful in every sense for the word!
  9. Glad you got those in Gary, K-Horns look great! I've been watching over your thread since you started it, and it very obvious that you put much time and care into this project. I couldn't wait till you were able to get your replacement tweeters in, and report back how they sounded. I'm happy for you that everything worked out. Hurry up and get that left channel wall built so you can report back on the complete awesomeness of your beauties. regards, Andrew
  10. pretty much anything except a black finish, I'm good with everything else. In a perfect world, oiled oak would be the best for me.
  11. The Klipsch bug that is. I just bought what seem to be a beautiful pair of Forte's. Now I already have my cornwalls, and heresy's for my HT in my living room and I've been very happy with them. However, I'm just about done getting my gym all setup in my garage I didn't have any adequate sound system. So while making my usual search on ebay I came across them, and BAM, I picked them up like a freakin' hawk and made them mine [H] They should be here next week, I'll take pic's when I can.
  12. I've always enjoyed watching something that was a mess turn into something that is just so beautiful! What an amazing transformation for your Lascala's! I hope you're able to show them off to the masses, might have to start charging for viewing ( and of course listening ) sessions, [] Congrats man, you did a great job. regards, andrew
  13. Love my heresy I's they're sure a great speaker. Bass wise they're pretty decent, but my cornwalls definitely go deeper. They have a decent all round range but like many others have said, you'll want a good amp to get the most out of them.
  14. its a hsu VTF-3 MK3 with Turbocharger, very nice thumping machine. goes nicely with my cw's and heresy, very happy with purchase []
  15. what type of sub would sound better, a front firing or down firing?
  16. Hi there Mike. I'm actually in the market looking for a new sub too. From my finding so far anything from SVS, HSU, Velodyne, Axiom, or if you got the money to spend JL Audio. Any of these would be a worthy purchase. Whats your price range? You should pm TheEar, he IS the sub man, and could answer any questions you would have. Also, you should head on over to the avs forums: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=6deb9b889bb6f71555cbfb020cf8fdab&t=7681506 They have just a sub section and everyone there has done a lot research on their woofers. Anyway, hope that helps out, let us know what sub you end up deciding on. later on, -Andrew
  17. sorry to barge in on this, but tigerwoodkhorns, did you ever get my pm about your academy center speaker?
  18. Nice looking pair of Chorus II's: http://cgi.ebay.com/Klipsch-Chorus-II-Speakers_W0QQitemZ250143201301QQihZ015QQcategoryZ14993QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Located in South Cali, if anyone is interested. -Andrew
  19. wonder how much he sold them for? thats freakin' weird.
  20. yeah the shipping would be crazy, too bad they're not closer =( aww well probably better that way anyhow, lol.
  21. Yeah I'd love to have a cornwall or a forte for a center, but my living is so small, I just can't accommodate either one. Thanks for the head up on the academy price. Forum member tigerwoodKhorns says he has an academy he wants to sell but he hasn't replied back yet, I'm hoping I can get a hold of him soon....
  22. Man those look pretty.... If I had the space, I'd jump on those in a heart beat []
  23. Dr. Bill, sorry to hear what happened to you man, its just not right. Our neighbors house just got robbed two weeks ago, and now the whole neighborhood is in a tissy. I hope you're able to recover your items!
  24. Dang, I wish I had a bigger room to work with [], eq_shadimar I took a peek at your layout, its very nice! Anyone know who on the forum has done the custom heresy configuration? And secondly, does anyone know how much Academy's are going for?
