  1. Thanks for all your responses guys! I had originally thought it would be just be drop in the K-horns snugly to the wall and call it good, but its starting to sound I'm going to have to tinker a bit more to achieve the best sound. As much as I enjoy the incredibly tight bass from the Scalas, I am very excited to hear the room filling bass of the K-horns! I should have mentioned this earlier, the corner they'll reside in are just shy of 12' apart. Will the K's be too close to each other?
  2. A side note, I've been reading that the K-horns have a time delay with the bass bin. Is it painfully noticeable? If so what fix is there for it?
  3. I have perfect corners for them, I just wasn't sure if I actually needed to seal the little gap between the walk and the speaker to get the best bass results.
  4. So they literally need to be touching the wall for any bass at all? And secondly, I was expecting the bass to be like the Scalas, just more of it. Since I've grown accustomed to the the Scala bass, will the K-horns not be as prominent?
  5. I'm expecting these to dig down lower, and have a bigger overall presentation. Given the same power I fed my La Scalas, will they be much louder? How close to the wall will they need to be to get the best bass response? Any advice to get the most out of them will be appreciated!
  6. Butterman, congrats on your new system! Denon and the 7 II's are a great match! Music wise you won't need a sub, but if you ever plan on doing a ht you'll want to think about adding one.
  7. Thanks bud! I'm super excited!
  8. Thanks for posting this Wolfbane!
  9. So looks like this guy wants to do a trade and cash deal. Going to pitch in my Scalas and the difference in cash.
  10. Thanks fellas! My brother in law is gonna lend me his truck. Hoping to pick them up this Saturday.
  11. Just talked to Mark, sounds like a nice guy. He's gonna call me back in a little bit with the serial number info, and the type of networks they have. The wife gave me the go ahead, when he calls back I'm probably gonna make the deal with him. Keep you guys posted!
  12. Just a couple hours away from me. I've had fun with my Scalas, might be time to get some K-horns =)
  13. I love my 40.4! Great sound with my La Scalas, I'm sure you'll be pleased with your newer model!

That is a very clean, nice looking system bud! How well does the Acadamy match your I'm guessing either Chorus or Fortes?
  15. Welcome! I just recently joined this club myself, and I gotta say, they are my favorite speaker I have ever owned. Once you've had some good listening time with them, it might be a good idea to take a look at the crossover and see what parts on there need sprucing up. Next pay check I'm going to order up some Bob Crites A/4500 xovers, and the CT120 tweeter to freshin' my Scalas up a bit. Congrats on your new toys!
  16. Welcome to the forum jayu969! GLWS, just one question, what is it that you are looking for that the RF-83's aren't providing? I don't know how much of an upgrade the RF-7 or RF-7 II will provide. One of the forum members, Youthman, was fortunate to be able to do a test on all three. Here are his thoughts in the following thread. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/146143-rf-7-vs-rf-7ii-vs-rf-83-comparison/
  17. Great setup bud! The 7's and rc-64 are a great match, I have the complete setup in my man cave. Though I have to say your sub looks lonely, he needs a friend =P
  18. Slick gear! I love my RF-7s, they're such an awesome speaker! The subs look beastly! Its too bad they don't come in a cherry finish to nicely match the towers.
  19. Definitely check out mono price, they'll have what you need there. Great tv btw, I've had mine for a couple years now, easily one of the best looking screens I've seen.
  20. Got this a couple days ago, read it needs a few hour under its belt before it really shines, but my initial impression is I can definitely tell a difference! I can hear little nuances in the bass department I hadn't heard before, same goes for vocals, but the most noticeable is the bass. I play most of my stuff through my Apple TV atm so this seems to be a really good match for it thus far! For those interested it came pre-installed with the upgraded opa627 OpAmps.
  21. Late to this thread, but congrats your Chorus'! There really should be a disclaimer about the rabbit hole you just went down with Klipsch. I started with a pair of Heresy's, then Cornwalls, then Forte's, then Chorus II's, then finally to a pair of La Scalas, and that's just the Heritage line of Klipsch that I've own/owned. However, I have a sneaky suspicion that Klipschorns will eventually make their way into my listening room Like some of the guys were saying get some good power to those 15's. It's not going to be the deepest bass you've ever heard but they will definitely be tight, and chest punching.
  22. I did, they had it offered for free. When I ordered they said they wouldn't be shipping anything till the lunar new year was over though, kind of a bummer.
  23. Thanks for the heads up, I read that as well. I did go with the upgraded op-amp version. How difficult is it to install the op-amps?
