  1. This scam is nothing new. I was approached in Tacoma, WA back in 1988. I was a young Army Private at the time. And guess what....it was two guys in a white van. "Dude...I've got a great deal on some speakers for you. They gave us too many...blah, blah, blah". I didn't buy anything from them. I then saw a special on TV a few years after that. I was approached again in Clarksville, TN about 3 years ago.
  2. I looked at the Marantz and Crown receivers on Ebay. They all look decent and are affordable. I think my first step needs to be finding a good CD player. I have a Yamaha DSP-A990 that I can use until I buy a good 2-channel amp. Any recommendations on a CD player? How about the NAD's? I know I'd like a 24-bit DAC but I don't know much about the home audio brands available. Thanks for everyone's help.
  3. I found a few Crown D75's on ebay at very good prices. I noticed that it uses phono plugs or a 3-pin connector for an input instead of an RCA. Can I buy a quality cable or adapter to connect a CD player with RCA outputs to this amp? Thanks again.
  4. I found the Marantz receiver at a few places for a pretty decent price. I also need a CD player. What do you guys think of the NAD line? I found one, the 541i, I believe it was. It was about $300 but got pretty good reviews. Thanks again
  5. Great advice guys! Thank you. Any particular model number on the Marantz or HK?
  6. Awsome advice guys. Thank you. Any particular model on the Marantz or HK?
  7. I was trying to figure that part out...maybe under $1000. Not sure what I can get for that.
  8. First off...forgive my ignorance. I'm more of a high end car audio guy. I don't spend a lot of time in the house so I've pretty much forgotten about tunes in anything but my car. I own two different pairs of home speakers...a pair of Chorus II's and a pair of KM4's. I considered selling it all and starting over. The few people that showed interest didn't have the funds so I just decided to keep it all for now. My question is this....I now need a nice 2-channel amp and a CD player to bring my Chorus II's back to life. I don't want to got nuts on the cost but I do want quality gear. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance for the help.
  9. I sold one of the 209's this weekend. I now have the 206 and 209 that have the custom graphics on them. They come with the link and end caps shown in the pictures. The price is $400 including shipping or best offer. Thanks
  10. Just wanted to move this post to the top. I have a few car audio guys very interested but haven't got a definate "yes" yet. I know there must be people here serious about sound quality in the car as well. The price is negotiable within reason. Also, here is a link to my Ebay feedback rating just to show that I'm an honest guy. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=customtronic&ftab=AllFeedback&sspagename=STRK:ME:UFS Thanks!
  11. Some of you that are into high-end car audio may have heard of this brand of amplifiers. They are made in Italy with only the best components. Audison is considered by most "Car-Audiofiles" to be some of the best sound quality amplifiers on the market. These amps originally retailed for about $800-900 each. I have three Audison VR-series amps for sale. I have a VR206 and a VR209 that I changed a bit. I painted the removable wood strips to match an install. I have a second VR209 that is unchanged. I also have one VR-Link and a pair of VR end caps (see pictures). I also have the original owners manual and one of the hex-head balls that came with them to remove the wood strips. They are not cosmetically perfect but the sound quality and function is awsome. No problems there at all. I love these amplifiers and have turned down many offers in the past to sell them. They have been sitting on my shelf for about 6 months. I don't see myself using them anytime soon so I'm afraid they have to go. My price is $600 for everything. The power ratings are: VR206 2 x 70w @ 4ohm, 2 x 130w @ 2ohm, 1 x 250w @ 4ohm mono VR209 2 x 110w @ 4ohm, 2 x 200w @ 2ohm, 1 x 400w @ 4ohm mono Here are some pics:
