  1. Lets just pretend that Audyssey doesnt exist, and one had to make the adjustments manually for each speaker in the setup. I ask this due to the fact that I wasnt thrilled with the way the system sounded after Audyssey had its way. I presentley have the front stage set to LARGE and the rears to SMALL, with the whole system including the sub sitting at 80hz. As it sits I get a much fuller sound, Audyssey had the system sounding rather lifeless and tinny with the front stage and sub at 80hz. and the rears at 40hz. I'm just getting some ideas as to how others have theirs setup, I would like to know what Klipsch recommends as far as size and frequency though, any Klipsch techs here?
  2. I'm running the setup through Denons new AVR-4308CI receiver. I'm curious as to what Klipsch recommends setting each individual speaker at as far as LARGE or SMALL ? Also what would be the recommended frequency for each speaker ?
  3. To those that have built there own, I need recommendations on parts suppliers for woofers, amps and such, also any recommendations on what you've used and been happy with would be appreciated. Got the itching to do my own. Thanks
  4. This is no joke folks, I honestly cant imagine the RT-12d being much better then this VTF-3 HO. Its bass is so smooth, at even the loudest levels, and the distortion I'm supposed to notice with the turbo is undetectable to my untrained ear. Had the pleasure to sit down and enjoy Lord of The Rings for the 100th time last night and it was like watching it for the first time. I've often read forum responses where people described the bass being so heavy that their pant legs moved, I experienced that for the first time last night when the Balrog took its steps in the Dwarven Hall. The sub blends so beautifully with the RF-63's and RC-64 that my friends initially thought the sub was hidden somewhere in the front stage, when in fact it was behind our seating area. Folks this is the opinion of one who doesn't have the experience of many here on this fine forum, but to purchase something else for double the price, to gain what many would consider an imperceptible gain in quality, just doesn't make sense. I'll be placing an order on my second sub sometime this week, check this sub out at a friends home if you have a chance before throwing down your money on something else. If there are any people in Northeast Ohio that would like a demonstration drop me an email.
  5. You bet your bottom dollar it does, I cant stop watching movies lately due to the jump in bass quality from the old Mirage 10'. Xmen Last Stand is amazing, lots of sub action in that movie. Were I able to get one for that price I might have passed on the HSU, but in a way I'm glad the Klipsch was out of reach otherwise I would have never tried the HSU, the dealers in my area are a bunch of pricks, its hard to get a good price when everyones on comission.
  6. I received my Klipsch speakers today, and couldn't be happier with my choice had I won the lottery. This setup is nothing short of amazing. As a few may know I was trying to decide between the Klipsch RT-12d at $1799.99 and the HSU VTF-3 HO at $899.99, needless to say I went the less expensive route due to a lack of funds at the moment, much to my surprise I've fallen in love with this sub ! This sub is nothing short of incredible at any price, what a beast ! My biggest concern was that the sub wouldn't blend with the Klipsch's, but after a few quick adjustments it literally disappeared. Awesome, awesome, sub ! And to think I can get a second one for the price of one RT-12d makes me giddy, sorry folks its just that I'm amazed at the quality of this sub for the money paid. Well back to enjoying the system, and thanks to all that responded to my prior inquiry's, the help was greatly appreciated. Robert
  7. Video is a Denon 3930CI, how do you like the 4806 with the Klipsch setup, I'm actually looking into that model or the one just under it?
  8. There black, and I'm at present trying to decide on a sub, RT-12d, HSU VTF3-HO w'supercharger, or one of the SVS subs, I'm more about depth and impact then decibles. Thank by the way.
  9. Hard to say how loud in decibles, the present sub is placed just behind the seating area and blends wonderfully, and plays loud enough, its more about depth and impact then volume. The present sub goes down to about 28 realistically, will the RT-12d hit the lows one encounters in The Haunting ? The Mirage is great to a point but seems to lose alittle steam when that movie hits its lowest lows. Again, my question is more about depth, impact and blending in then volume. I want to place the sub in the front corner and have it dissapear as the present setup does. Ive never owned Klipsch, I based my purchase on how they sounded with a surround music disc. It sounded great, but music and movies are a whole different story in some cases. Thanks
  10. I just recently purchased the following; 2 RF-63's 1 RC-64 2 RS-62's The room consists of a 106' Carada Brilliant White Screen, and due to the room being ONLY 10ft wide doesn't leave much room for speaker placement, at least at the sides. At what distance should I place the front speakers from the wall to take full advantage of these speakers sound stage ? The room is 10ft wide and 25ft long, not the best dimensions for a theater but it'll have to do for now, thanks for any suggestions.
  11. Will the RT-12d be enough in a room 13 ft. wide by 30 feet long ? I know that the dimensions seem ridiculous, but its what I had to work with, its basically a light controlled cave. My present setup is Mirage OM6's all the way around with there own 10' sub, and though the bass is excellent I want more depth. Thanks
  12. I just purchased the following for my home theater, 2 RF-63's 1 RC-64 2 RS-62's As you'll notice the only thing missing is a sub, the RT-12d sub seemed like a perfect match, until I saw the price, I read some rather impressive reviews on the HSU VTF-3 with HO Turbocharger. Does anyone here have any experience with the HSU brand, every review I've read has them rated at the top based on the level of preformance one gets for the money spent. I could get 2 of the HSU for the price of one RT-12d, feel free to express any opinions that you may have concerning these subs. Thank you
