  1. Maybe this is the wrong place to put this, but it seems to get a lot of traffic. I'm not totally sure how this happened but the preamp plug that runs from the satellite to the sub broke. As you can see, that cylinder should be connected to the cord so that I can plug it into the preamp imput. I have a bad feeling I can't do anything about this. But I thought I'd ask.

  3. For some reason I can't view the sound card board... I won't be able to ship my KG 3.5's to Alaska (where I'm moving) until January, so I bought a Promedia 2.1 set and I'm going to just use my laptop for all my music until I can ship out my whole system. My laptop is about 3 weeks old, and it has a "SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio" card, or so my hardware information says. I don't know much about sound when it comes to computers and their capabilities, but I've heard only good things about Promedia. Will a good pair of speaks make up for an integrated sound card? What are the benefits of upgrading? What are my upgrade options? Thanks alot for your responses, Matt
  4. Great links. Very informative and visual! Thank you.
  5. Where can I get tall boxes and 1" styrofoam sheets? Thanks.
  6. Thanks! I really appreciate it.
  7. I'm going to have to ship my KG 3.5s to Alaska. How should I package them? I don't even know where to start. Detailed instructions would be nice, because the thought of this is making me nervous. ha ha. Thanks for the advice.
  8. So, my room dimension problem would be solved if I could put my KG 3.5s close to the base heaters. I'm scared to do that. Is this a healthy fear? Is there a way to shield the speaks?
  9. Spin It Again by Acoustica is a program that will record your vinyl to the computer. You just need a reciever, turntable and the proper connectors. Everything is explained and it's really easy to use. It has features that will help you clean up the clicks and pops too. Also works with tapes. http://www.acoustica.com/spinitagain/
  10. My KG 3.5s are more than 10 years old. I was wondering if there was anything I should be looking for in terms of upgrades and replacement to the speakers themselves (I don't want new speakers yet, and I can't really afford them anyway.) Thanks
  11. YOU ..... effin' bastid ... i Did ... try to get that dam bug on my screen ....[8-)] ha ha glad I'm not the only one.
  12. That sounds tedious, but interesting. I'll probably try that, or a variation thereof. I appreciate all the responses. It was also nice running into a couple people from the homeland of cheese and magic hat.
  13. They are about 8 feet apart. When I listen, I'm usually 9-10 feet away.
