Isn't that the marketing of just about every company? Their job is to create ads that make you desire to upgrade from what you have. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's like a Pawn Shop....you can sell it quick for less, or you can spend the time and energy selling it yourself and patiently wait to get more. If I had a McIntosh...I likely would not be trading up either. LOL

You may have a very good point there fellas. I've never owned any McIntosh gear so I'm not aware of the value of vintage vs current models.

Congrats on the purchase superkyle! The best advice I can give is each room is different and has different acoustic properties. It's best to try different distances from the wall and different amounts of toe in (angling the tweeter towards your listening position). I toe my RF7 III to where the tweeter is aiming just behind my listening position. This provides a huge sound stage and a very enveloping sound in my room. For distance from the wall, Try 12" - 18" and see how that sounds. I just Googled Speaker Placement and found a simple graph that shows what I'm talking about. My wife would not like me placing my RF7 III 2' - 3' from the wall as it would be way too far out into the room. If I had a dedicated 2ch listening room, it would be different. Lastly, as you can see in the photo, try to have the distance between the speakers the same distance from each other as they are from your listening position so that it makes an equilateral triangle.

Thank you for the kind words. Not sure about being King of Klipsch Reviews, I'm probably just the guy on Youtube that has owned the most Klipsch speakers. Budget is almost always a factor (I know it is with me). As I stated in my review, "Is it worth it" is always relative to the individual. $1200 to $3200 is a very significant jump. Do I hear 2x the improvement in the RF7 III over the RF7 II....no. But that's typically the case with just about every upgrade. I honestly believe you can't go wrong with either. I do feel the RF7 III is a better overall speaker. How much is better worth....that's up to each individual. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Yes, I have the Denon AVR-X6400H and the Marantz SR8012 (owned by same company) and they both run REALLY hot as well. MANY of my subscribers recommended the Aircom T9. They aren't cheap but they all say it keeps their receiver really cool. I will likely be buying one myself but after I make a few more upgrades.

Welcome superkyle! You are in the right place. We all love Klipsch and there are lots of guys willing to help out and share their experience. I did several comparisons between the RF7, RF7 II and RF7 III. Check out these three video for my take on them. In a nutshell, the RF7 II and RF7 III are both fantastic speakers. I rocked the RF7 II for several years, my son had the RF7 in his bedroom. I ended up selling the RF7, gave my son the RF7 II and upgraded to the RF7 III. The RF7 III have a smoother, more refined top end than the RF7 II. I didn't hear any difference in midrange or bass.

Welcome to the forum. First question for you is will all of these speakers be mounted in the ceiling? If so, I would highly recommend NOT doing that for your front 3 speakers. It's odd hearing sound come down from the ceiling when that sound is supposed to be coming from the screen (front wall)

The matching center for the RP-280F is the RP-450C. Do you have the RP-280F or the R-28F?

The RB61 II won't sound any different if they are in the same position as they too will be firing well above your head. You might want to look at something like a heavy duty OmniMount that will allow you to angle the speaker - https://amzn.to/2Oh4EHz

Were the Quintets angled down? Your surrounds are mounted pretty high so most of the sound isn’t hitting your ears. Do t forget to rerun Audyssey too
