  1. Did you ever get it fixed? If not most people I know with this problem put a slabs of granite or two on top works every time and they say they get better sounding bass too
  2. Gee do I pay attention much , thank`s I guess I should look at the post date Ha!!
  3. I`m interested in the owners manual if you still have it
  4. You know you get 30 days in home trial so just get it and see for your self , if you do not like it your only out the shipping back , but I bet you will keep it Emotiva amps are very clean and neutral sounding and in my experience out board amp have always sounded better then AVR`s even if there the same watts
  5. I was thinking of getting the x-over mods done for my KG5.5`s I have 4 of them but was concerned on how they would sound with my KV-4 center as it is now they match my center perfectly when panning left-center-right it`s smooth as silk , I`m guessing if I did the mods that would change the relationship to the center speaker right? and would there be a x-over mod for the KV-4 so it would match the KG`s or for that matter could I do the same tweeter upgrade for the KG5.5 with the KV-4 too ,any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated
  6. Definitely get the XPA-3 , whenever you change anything in your HT room you need to re-run the calibrations and I always recheck with an spl meter too
  7. I replaced my RF-3`s with KG 5.5`s , like others here said the KG 5.5`s put out more bass then the RF-3`s and I think they put out way more bass also I think the KG `s did better in the mid bass also , I consider the move from RF-3`s to KG 5.5`s an upgrade so much so I bought another pair of KG 5.5`s for my surrounds (see sig ) I`m really into multichannel music though that`s why I have 4 x KG 5,5`s if I had room I`de have all KG 5.5`s ,there a really awesome speaker IMHO and for what you can get them for now I think it`s a steel
  8. I`m really into multichannel music so I have another pair of KG 5.5`s for my L & R surrounds (look in my sig) and for rear surrounds RF 15`s I didn`t have room for another pair of KG 5.5`s for the rears , I love the KG line awesome speakers IMO
  9. Sorry for not posting sooner on the KV-4 it`s been a bad year for me thank goodness it`s almost over !!! I have been listening to the KV-4 with my KG 5.5`s for a year now and the KV-4 matches seamlessly with my KG 5.5`s , When 5.1 music or movies pan left - center -right it flows so smoothly you can`t even tell it`s moving from speaker to speaker I couldn`t of picked a better center other then another KG 5.5 , if anyone is looking for a center for there KG 5.5`s I say get the KV-4 if you can , it`s pretty big for a center HxWxD 10.5 X 271/4 x 9 , but well worth it though IMHO
  10. I have difficulty with the written word do to a accident so Please excuse the bad communica I have the Emotiva IPS-1 in my HT setup (look in my sig ) and it`s the best amp I have ever owned to date ,it`s a very clean detailed amp ,I have owned phase liner , carver , harmon/ kardon , pioneer and yamaha amp`s and the IPS to me has bested them all though I have not done a side by side comparison , that said I have found the IPS to be very musical as well as a awesome HT amp it breathed new life to my KG `s they never sounded so good with more controlled bass response and detailed mid`s and highs it`s like I did a crossover upgrade and re-tuned the ports , the noise floor dropped considerably also , I noted the biggest improvement in my TT ( turn table ) it seams ( to me anyway ) that the class H amp really brings out the best quality in analog , now that said this amp is very neutral- in at it adds nothing , but remember if you put garbage in you will get garbage out and this amp will show the short comings of your system -" If" you can find some one willing to give up there`s I say go for it ,but that may be few and far
  11. Get some cheap eye glasses and paint them then every time your in that room put them on then everything will look the same color
  12. I have the emotiva IPS-1 7 channel amp and it`s built like a tank , the sound quality is definitely high end, I can`t believe there’s a company that builds high end gear and sells them at entry level prices, I am absolutely going to buy there XMC-1 pre/pro when released , if this is what kinda of amp they can make and sell for then this may be the first time I ever considered one company for all my component needs , (if they can afford to keep doing this at this quality that is )
  13. That is what I did , I had 4xRF -3`s they where great speakers , but I wanted more bass & tamer high`s , so I gambled & got a set of KG 5.5`s they where cheaper then going for the RF-7`s , It was defiantly an upgrade -man can they putout some bass , the mids & highs are excellent also -not bright like the 3`s where , I was final able to buy 2 more + a KV-4 for the center ,now I`m in audio/video nirvana , it`s one of the best things I did for my system getting the KG 5.5`s , there is one thing you will need to check though - this only happened to one of my 5.5`s ,but the glue failed & the back panel came lose on one of the KG`s so I had to re-glue it ,not a big deal .but you will want check & thus far non of my other 3 KG`s has this problem so other then that one problem they have been perfect in every respect for music & movies , If you can get them for $400 or less IMO they are well worth it .
  14. Why don`t you try the 81`s in the room that your KL`s are maybe then they will not sound so similar or if the 81`s sound good in that room maybe the KL`s would sound great in that room ,you just can`t compare speakers in that way ,speakers sound different in different rooms they will not sound the same in every room .
