  1. Hi Youthman, I enjoyed our chat yesterday. Thanks. Hey Mark, The courses are about as good as they have ever been! There were a bunch of upgrades for last year's Honda Classic. Prior to moving to the new house, I actually lived in PGA National on the course. My avatar is still the last place and you may be able to make out the fairway in the background. Like everyone though, we often take it what we have for granted. It has to be at least a year since I have played.
  2. Thanks derrick, I think it's a beautiful setup too. I sold my second pair of RF-5's yesterday and it was hard to see them go! I still have the pair of rf-5's and matching RC-7. Price is $1050 for all three. Sorry I couldn't wait el jopez, hadn't heard back from you in time...
  3. Patrick did show up yesterday and purchased the 2nd pair of RF-5's that I had used as my rear speakers. The pair of rf-5's and matching rc-7 are still available for $1050. Patrick said he was interested in getting the other pair of RF-5's and the RC-7 within the next few weeks but you never know. It was like watching someone take a child when he left with the rf's [:'(] Talk about sellers remorse, now I'm not sure if I could handle parting with the rest.
  4. Thanks CECAA, I wish you were too. I want them to go to a good home and someone who appreciates them as much as we do, as cheesy as that sounds!
  5. Just to clarify, the RC-7 is sitting on a glass shelf. The speaker has not been modified or directly mounted to the wall. Nor is the TV sitting on the speaker. It's mounted to the wall about a 1/2 inch above the speaker. Here are a few more pics of the rf-5's
  6. Unfortunately, I don't have the original boxes. I am willing to drop them off at The UPS Store near me and you could have them package the speakers. Of course, all shipping details would be between you and The UPS Store and I couldn't be responsible for any potential damage. Klipsch Reference RF-5 Home theater speakers with consecutive serial #s in the rare Maple veneer and one RC-7 center channel also in the matching Maple veneer. $1050 I will only sell them as a package. Compare this to the cost of just a pair of new RF-7 II's Makes the perfect Home Theater setup due to equal horns and 8" cones all around (unlike the RF-7 's) They are in excellent condition with only a couple minor surface marks on the back of the speaker. They are from a child and smoke free home. Grills are included and in mint condition. Klipsch designed the RF-5 floorstanding loudspeaker to provide remarkably sophisticated detailed Reference Series-quality sound from a cabinet that's smaller than the flagship RF-7. This marvel uses dual 8-inch Cerametallic™ woofers and an 8-inch square Tractrix® Horn tweeter powered by a 1-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver to deliver vivid powerful detail for two-channel or surround systems. Using the same Tractrix Horn as the RF-7 the RF-5 has "outside the box" imaging and smooth midrange tonal balance for an incredible soundstage. A dual flared port helps deliver deep authoritative bass without noise and compression. Audiophile-grade crossover components ensure peak performance across the entire sound spectrum while a unique venting system keeps the driver's motor and voice coil cool for superior reliability. 8. Since moving into the new home the family room layout doesn't allow space to use the extra pair of RF-5s as the surround speakers. My original thought was to just sell a pair of the RF-5s and keep the other three. It seems a shame to split up the set but I guess we will see.
  9. Thank you! I always appreciate your input, I really like these. They are in almost as new condition. I had originally auditioned both the RF-7 and the RF-5 and while they were nearly identical, the narrower front isn't as visually overwhelming than the wider rf-7. 5 of the same horns and 10 of the same 8" drivers makes a pretty spectacular setup.

  11. Hi fellow PB county klipsch-head! You may want to take a look at the Rotel 1075 or 1095, or even some of the amps from Outlaw audio.
  12. Gaming isn't that important. I had a ps2 about 5 years ago and I liked gran turismo. I would buy gt and probably try guitar hero but I don't typically do games. I do understand that my receiver has burr brown dac's @ 192khz
  13. Just got off the phone with Onkyo and they told me to reset the 805 by holding the VCR/DVR button and then pressing the power button. Hopfully this takes care of the problem. PS I understand that the 806 does not have the burr brown dac's and it has less power.
  14. As we all prepare to vote tomorrow, I am asking for your vote. Hopefully this won't be as heated as a presidential election[*-)] What would you do? My Dolby Digital TrueHD / DTS HD-MA receiver and rs-7 rear surrounds to round out the Klipsch 7.1 system just arrived. (Everything will be running through hdmi) Of course, now it is time to hear what it can do. I don't have anything but a dvd player with HDMI, and want to have SACD and possibly DVD-a capabilities with the highest audio quality possible within a reasonable budget. I don't want a current PS3 because it doesn't have SACD, so I would most likely have to go for a used 60 or 80gig vs. waiting till January/Febuary for the new Oppo Bluray palyer to come out. I have heard that it will play DVD, bluray, SACD, and DVD-a. Time to cast your ballet!
  15. I have been using my 805 for 3 days now and can concur that mine runs hot too. I had heard this before purchasing. I just make sure to not place any other equipment on top. Before my purchase I talked to one of the head techs at onkyo to ask him about the 805 vs 806, and was told that the 805 has superior audio quality. I do have a serious concern though. Each morning that I have turned it on, I have to wait about 5 minutes to get audio. Is this normal? Until my new hdmi cables arrive from monoprice I have the Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD DVR hooked up via optical 1 input and digital input screen 1-4 set to cbl/sat opt1 with auto select . Speaker imimpedence is set to 6ohm (my choices are 6 or 4) The DVD player is hooked up via digital coax and have the same symtoms. Video is running via component through the 805 and the video comes on right away. After the first 5 minutes or so (warmed up) there are no issues.
  16. Hi InVeNtOR, Stayed up late last night setting up the new sr805 and mine too is just 2 prong (no ground) It is a little odd. I guess the concensus is to just stick with the 12ga all around. Thank you for everyones input.
  17. I'm not sure what your budget is, but if you are looking at the rf-82 (83) line for your system, you might want to re-do your mantle and buy exactly what you want as appose to working with the limitations of the existing fireplace. It might be more economical ( and sound better)!
  18. I'll be there in the early afternoon! Please let me know when you are going to super close-out the 73" Mitsu Thanks Amy Noah
  19. I have a bunch of rockford fosgate 4 guage pure copper cable that I had used in a car amplifier setup, that I would like to utilize if it will produce adventagous results for my front left, right and center. Rockford sells the platinum covered spades as well so that I could harness these "garden hoses" to the amp and speakers Is this extreme over kill? Will this degrade the sound vs. just using the monoprice 12awg? Your input will greatly help. I also want to thank everyone that gave there input on helping me with my 7.1 surround speaker choice. I ended up picking up a pair of rs-7's. Special thanks to InVenTor for turning me on to monoprice.com for speaker and hdmi cables. I just ordered 250ft for wiring the rear and rear surrounds. PS. I also just picked up an Onkyo tx-sr805 to run everything (this will replace my Pioneer 7.1 VSX-d812 receiver (used as pre/pro) and rotel rmb-1066 6 ch amp) Pioneer is now for sale.
  20. I dont have bluray yet, even though I want to. Did not want to purchase until format was decided between bluray and hd-dvd. Once that happend, I kept waiting for the ps3 to have dts-hd. Then I waited for the ps3 price break but found out the new one doesn't have sacd. So now I guess I will wait for the Oppo BDP-S83 ( It is rumored to do BR, SACD, and DVD-A)
  21. Thanks Inventor, I was thinking the same about the speaker wire. Heard god things about them and blue jean cable. I sold the monster biwire and Rotel 1066 amp that I had. I am actually upgrading to the sr805 as well. Do you ever find that the rc-7 sounds muffled at times? Maybe because the drivers are so large? I was wondering if a biwire for the center (with a network like mit or transparent)would help bypass the internal RC7's crossover, or if the only solution is having deang go to town on it (any idea what he charges)
