  1. Some of the older La scale's had removable tops so it may have been replaced with that ugly pine top.
  2. Fine choice K2 is great for sub duty I'm a Crown fan for running my pro audio speakers and if you have a problem you can't beat Crowns repair department its a flat $213 charge to fix a problem and a max of $363 if the amp needs new boards etc. however I have only had one issue with a Crown amp in the past they are very reliable.

  4. Just serviced by Ashly new filter caps cleaned like new .
  5. Purchased this from a guy that used it in his home it's in very good condition the face is clean very mild scratches on the top I never used it but for maybe an hour it's been in an amp case sitting in my closet. This is a USA built xti if it doesn't have the sticker that says built in the USA with the red white and blue flag then it is built in China.
  6. Great setup for someone at a good price.
  7. Those will work fine I used similar ones with my KP 2000's also the stands normally have both size's on the pole you just reverse the pole. These are the ones I have. http://www.amazon.com/Stage-SSP7900-Aluminum-Speaker-Package/dp/B00A2UZKLM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1461954217&sr=8-1&keywords=speaker+stands+on+stage

    What I Got Today!

Went by the surplus store at the University of California Santa Barbara and noticed a pair of EAW KF 650z PA speakers I asked the guy how much and he said $30 each and said they were blown hmm I didn't ask anymore questions other than I'll take them . Got them home and noticed they were in tri map mode so if a speaker cable was hooked up only LF would play. Long story short they are in perfect working order . Hit them with a coat of paint they look great going to have the grills powder coated .
  10. Got the room and want some serious bass (: http://www.danleysoundlabs.com/products/subwoofers/bc-horns/bc218/
  11. Hi Ron I have one of the Xilica processors the Danley DSL P48 to run my SH96HO's in bi amp mode . Xilica has great support just give them a call or email them and they get back to you fast. I always dread getting a new processor as learning its in's and out's ,No pun intended , is never fun. Below are the settings for the SH96HO's in bi amp mode it also has passive networks you just get more output in bi amp mode
  12. Great price this is what I did with some Speakerlab bins
  13. I have a mint condition SPL Runt and td-1 for sale it is one of three that I purchased from Mark Seaton of Seaton sound that came out of a high end home theater . The Runts sold for $2500 each new the td-1's $3300 each the Runt is the early version of the SH95 but goes flatter lower the td-1 is the early version of the SH46 . $650 shipped CONUSA for the Runt td-1 is $600 plus shipping
  14. https://www.facebook.com/patrick.ortiz2?fref=photo try this just scroll down .
  15. Many thanks!! I will enjoy carefully reading this. Yes this guy is an engineer and builds and designs speakers professionally and has Tom Danley permission to post the build .
  16. Here is a link to the build with all the info you need to build a pair of these. http://techtalk.parts-express.com/showthread.php?239910-Synergy-Horns-Dayton-and-PRV
  17. I don't want to hijack this thread but I just want to point out that even with 6 db higher output, the TH trounces the others in distortion and low end power. The only compromise is size, which you know very well since you build horn subs. Over and out.
  18. This is a awesome deal the td-1 is the early version of the SH46 and although it doesn't have the max power handling as the SH46 at $3600 for 4 that is around what one SH46 costs but 4 td-1's will fill a 2000 seat theater with crystal clear sound.
  19. Sorry can't advertise prices on the web also there are plenty of DIY smaller Synergy horn builds available to build that the work is all done for you so if you wouldn't want a large Synergy horn like the SH96 why even go this route. I can tell you for not much more than the price you put above you could get a pair of SH96's and a pair of DBH218's shipped to your door. Sorry if this is a disruption I'll stay out of the thread after this.
  20. I missed this question from last Wednesday. Sorry about that. Clearly the answers depend on availability of the Danley SH50 loudspeaker and/or the Klipsch K-402 horn on the used market, I haven't seen SH50s advertised on the web used since about four years ago. Perhaps Claude can give you tips on where to look. I have seen a few K-402s advertised in ones and twos, used. In general, I believe that K-402s are generally much cheaper. The new prices make your question much easier to answer: the K-402s are cheaper--about $1K including a stand and driver attached--or you might can buy just the horn. However, there is a fair amount of fabrication/modification required. If you buy it in a KPT-305 configuration, then the price will be about $1600 (each) plus $300 for the woofers (two per loudspeaker) and about that also for a reasonable 2" compression driver. I've seen used TAD 4002s for about $600, which is a screaming deal. You'll also need a digital crossover. Those go for about $400 (a typical used Dx38 price), and work extremely well. The Xilica XP2040 would be even better (24/96), sometimes available used. The real objective it seems is to have a source for the horn with woofer mounting pads and through holes, beefed up to make it much stiffer--as a single-piece part. You need something that is the correct geometry and extremely stiff, and second, something that might or might not be "pretty". I wouldn't put money into a horn that isn't much stiffer than a stock K-402--made in pretty wood. I believe that would be a large mistake--acoustically speaking. The box is an easy shape to make--it's just a box that needs to be fairly stiff and air tight. I'd much rather have a K-402 based horn than a Danley SH50 or SH60 because the coverage angle differences are a pretty big deal, IMO. You'd need a pair of Danley SH96s to match the coverage of two horns of the current type here. That's a lot of money (i.e., $22K US). I think that a stereo pair of K-402-based units would be a lot cheaper, even with the best drivers that money can buy. In fact, I believe that a pair can be easily had for significantly less cost than a new pair of La Scala IIs, depending on drivers used...using all-new stuff. If you're ever through the D/FW area, you have an open invite to come hear. Perhaps I'll have more than just one unit set up by then. Chris Who told you the SH96's were $22K LOL there not much more than what Klipsch advertises Klipschorns for on there website .
  21. Maybe next week I'll have a chance to measure the woofer response on my SH96HO's if it is a help ..
  22. Note that the SH96 box only uses small recesses on their woofer mounting surfaces: pst003.jpg Chris This is not a SH96 cabinet the midrange holes are in the wrong place there are 6 midrange speakers in the SH96HO and the regular SH96 so I'm not sure that the woofer section is correct?
  23. Was referring to the sealed back part of the driver on the midrange it would be bad if they weren't sealed they would be small passive radiators.
  24. This is a newer pair I have the SH96HO it has ports I took the grills off for the photo. http://www.danleysoundlabs.com/danley/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/SH-96-HO-spec-sheet1.pdf
