  1. Those Cherry Heresey's are uh...CHERRY!! Fantastic work!
  2. I've been sitting here laughing my *** off. I found this person on Ebay too. Check this out. Apparently this is for sale: http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/auc.pl?accstwek&1203742294 But someone with the exact same screenname bought this on eBay 2-18-08: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300123793708 I can't help but laugh. I seriously hope people aren't buying any of it.

I enjoyed it too. I was in a bit of awe over the sheer size of the heat shield.
  4. I took this one, I forgot to remove the dust before posting, but oh well. As you can see, I have a thing with Klipsch's tweeters.
  5. Actually, I'm EXTREMELY happy with them. Though keep in mind that My OLD system was all Polk speakers (S8s, CS-250-s, S4s) which sounded OK, but didn't have the impact that my new system does. I was actually most impressed with the sound in stereo mode. Sometimes I like to "crank it up" and those Polks just couldn't handle the watts. There was a point on the volume nob where the output didn't get any louder, I'd turn up the volume and the sound only got worse (distorted tweeter & woofer). But, with these Klipsch, I keep turning up the volume and the volume actually keeps getting louder! I can completely fill the entire house with sound with just the RF-62s in stereo mode with the sub turned on. The other thing I noticed is that I can now hear subtle details in music I only heard at my friend's house (He's got the Forte IIs). That was the biggest thing for me. (For instance, guitar strings, you can hear the fingers touching them and not just the sound of the string after it's strummed) I actually believe I get my money's worth in the music I buy now because I can actually hear everything. Those Polks had crystally highs with my Integra receiver, but something was always missing and I could never put my finger on it until I got Klipsch. I'll NEVER look back now!! I think I actually got my money's worth on the receiver now. However there is one negative to having that much detail, these speakers will reveal ANY AND ALL FLAWS in the recording...ACCURATELY!! Moves are even better now because I have that many more speakers pushing out details I didn't hear before. Every movie I re-watch is a renewed experience. Just be careful using high volume levels. If you overdrive your amplifier the speakers will tell you because the distortion & clipping will be reproduced VERY ACCURATELY. Although I've never heard my Integra Clip before. I love that receiver.... I have only one quam right now, during movies I have to use the "Cinema Filter" because the trebel can get a bit bright when I'm watching movies at a "reference level" which is how I like to watch my movies. But I think that's more the receiver. I'm assuming Integra installed a "Cinema Filter" for a reason... I reviewed the RF-62s here(I'm the only review right now so give it a read): http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/klipsch/floorstanding-speakers/PRD_408509_1594crx.aspx My RC-52 review: http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/klipsch/center-channels/PRD_408569_2743crx.aspx My RS-42 review: http://www.audioreview.com/mfr/klipsch/surround-speakers/PRD_408570_2742crx.aspx I'm gonna do up an RW-12d review soon but I'm still auditioning this sub in the home considering I just got my hands on it not 3 weeks ago I gave all my speakers very high marks because everything I've heard in the store and in people's homes have NOT compared in the least. Well maybe the Forte II's but they're so wide I haven't really considered them.
  6. You know, I've never heard of Klipsch being used as monitors in the studio either. We tried it for a week to see what the impact would be. (I think we were bored and felt like experimenting) LMAO I use the same technique as you. Studio ---> then to the car stereo--> finally the home stereo. If it can pass the last 2 tests, I'm happy - and then listen to it in the car on the way back to work the next day just to make sure. heh heh
  7. Oh yes, I changed the password. But hey, passwords can be hacked too! OBVIOUSLY there isn't any "PERFECT" LAN security out there, but many layers of security is more helpful than non at all (like turning off your SSID broadcast will deter MOST "average" users from finding your wifi connection altogether). Also, I can safely say that most of the people who live around me don't know the definition of MAC address spoofing (I live a low income area they call "da hood"). I'm not really worred about someone spoofing my MAC address here. So saying it's easy, well that's your perception (which is great for you), but most of the general public would disagree with your statement that it's "easy". But I agree with what you are saying in general, the security measures can be circumvented if the right person is doing the dirty work. But that's the way with most things - my car, house & place of work included... So I stick by my statement that breaking into my network is "highly unlikely" but I'll add it's also "not impossible".
  8. Well I can't tell you how they sound but I have a suggestion. Get a sealed enclosure or monitors with front firing ports. Rear firing ports could give an unnatural, delayed/reflective sound in the low end which you don't want when you're mixing. This is unless your room is setup with sound dampening of course. I have a pair of RB-61's (they have front firing ports). They'd probably make a half way decent studio monitor. But my experience tells me that the Klipsch is SOOO accurate, you might have problems with the final master being played on NON Klipsch speakers. Klipsch speaks can take so much punishment (both in frequency response and dynamic response), you might not realize that your music will probably overdrive most other speakers. This is just from my personal experience. I mixed a couple times on Klipsch, brought the mix home and my old Polks would crap out on the bass and treble every time... Because, I mixed the music for the Klipsch, not any ole speaker. I like to mix on a crappy set of KLH, JBL, or Yamaha, then jam the final master on the Klipsch. []
  9. I haven't seen anything interesting either. Just product announcements... I'll review them for ya as soon as Klipsch sends me my Custom 3 production sample... [] Still waiting....... heh heh
  10. My biggest quam about rear projection when I was shopping was the field of view. The Plasma and LCD's on average had a wider viewing angle which allowed me to pack my living-room with friends on movie night and everybody could get an equal view of the tv. Size was another consideration. I live in a small place. The rear projections were deeper, took up more room and I couldn’t hang them on the wall if I ever decided I wanted to. After that, I had to decide between Plasma and LCD. I picked Plasma. Hope that helped at least a little.
  11. Oh sure, they're here...somewhere... [:^)] Uh oh, now I have to tell you about MY first Klipsch experience, it was at a friend’s house MANY MANY YEARS AGO. I think I was 12 years old. Her dad had a pair of what I now believe to be Heresy's (now that I think back, they had those wedge like stands which makes me believe they were Klipsch) They were plugged into this MASSIVE receiver (you know the wide suckers with the analog watt/db meters). We would crank the bass and treble ALL THE WAY UP and Jam those speakers. Now that I think back, we were throwing a LOT of watts at those speakers and they didn't blink. Sounded way better than my other friend's parent's Ohm speakers. [8-)] Later on in life I had another friend who owned his own set of KG-2s plugged into a big ole Kenwood (similar to the older one I used when I was young). That sounded VERY nice. Then he upgraded to Forte IIs and the Integra DTR-7. That hooked me for good. Oh crap I'm off topic now.. [:$]
  12. oh my. You are right, I've never looked at the personals section.. Heck, I didn't even know Ebay had an adult section until my roommate showed me the "toys" selection. LMAO
  13. Did you mean the RF-52 and not the F-52? I would assume since the RF-52 and the RF-62 utilize the same materials in construction (identical tweeters too), the differences in sound should be negligible. You'd gain some overhead as far as power goes (More output potential due to the larger woofers) The bass goes a tad deeper too on the 62s. I'm currently using the RF-62 mains with the RC-52 center. They blend extremely well together.
  14. Mmmmm. A cup of joe and a smokie treat. YUM! Now THAT brings back memories of hanging out in the restaurant for hours on end with friends, smokin' the place up. heh heh
