  1. I've been a big Cerwin-Vega fan. My first "high quality" speakers were PD-15 models. They are like small Cornwalls (15" woofer, horn mid, horn tweeter, smaller vented cabintet) -- and having had both at the same time, they actually had a similar sound (with 105dB sensitivity). They were not quite as "refined" as Klipsch Heritage, but they still sounded very good and clean -- don't dismiss them too quickly. There are better models than others. The PD-15s have cloth surrounds on the woofers, whereas most CVs typically have foam surrounds. I had those speakers for over 30 years (still in outstanding condition with original boxes, packing material, owner's manual, pamphlets) and reluctantly sold them a couple years ago due to just having too many speakers. I'm currently using a similar set of speakers in my garage. Without going out to check the model number, I beleive they are the V-15B models as they look like this:

  4. Price was definitely on the high side. Price will eventually go down. I can't remember what it was orignally, but it's already dropped to $2500. If you like them, offer what you think it is worth and you might just make a purchase.

  7. Here is my very first tube amplifier -- an Audio Research VT-50. It replaced the nicest solid-state amplifier I had ever owned -- a Jeff Rowland Model 5. I've been a tube convert ever since.
  8. I don't own these any more. I sold them to a forum member many years ago. Wish I still had them.
  9. Wright Sound Company WPA 3.5 Monos (2A3 Single Ended Triode Monoblocks) sans tubes.
  10. Looks like the XL versions are also on sale $125. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=39167 If you don't mind placing a review of your rack(s), please post here (I'm still on the lookout and have been torn between spending more or getting something like the Monoprice XL version):

    CD's at Amazon

How about Wal-Mart? For the past several years I've been scrounging the $5 CD bins and have usually found something worth buying that I didn't already have. Occasionally, I found something on my "wanted" list -- getting something I intended to buy at a much price lower than what I expected to pay. Recently, I've found that these $5 CDs can also be purchased online. There are many that are even less that that. The only problem is that they have so many available online, it can take time so sort through them all. Shipping is free if you buy enough stuff.
  12. I have and have had multiple 2A3 SET amps putting out a whopping 3.5 watts/channel. With high efficiency horns, they played more than loud enough for most of my listening needs with startling dynamics. As an example, I could get live volume levels with life-like dynamics of a drum set in my room with this system.
  13. Looks like someone has done just that:

    Done sold

  15. I'm a big fan of Classé Audio. The CAV-75 will come in under $1000 and if you need more power, the CAV-150 will likely run over $1,000. There was a member here that was selling a CAV-150 for somewhere around $1000 or maybe just a little above that but I think it sold (that was a great deal). I'm fairly certain you'll be very happy with either of these amps in terms of sound quality. These amps can be configured to 3, 4, 5, or 6 channels. Here is one that just popped up on eBay (but beware, eBay now charges sales tax in case you weren't aware). https://www.ebay.com/itm/174311064811?ul_noapp=true Others I just saw: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Classe-CAV-150-Multi-Channel-Power-Amplifier-6-Channels-150-Watts-CH/353094954084?hash=item5236196c64:g:SOAAAOSwv7pee3WM https://www.ebay.com/itm/Classe-CAV-75-Theater-Amplifier-Bargain/283826134287?hash=item42155b1d0f:g:9EEAAOSw3axeem3f https://www.ebay.com/itm/Classe-CAV-Model-75-6-Channel-Power-Amplifier/264671171069?hash=item3d9fa191fd:g:vnoAAOSwgrJeiT47
  16. Thanks for all the replies. Looks like it's not the bulb. I had to send the projector in for repairs. I tried doing a projector "reset" per JVC tech support and also tried cleaning the air filter but unfortunately neither worked (the filter was actually very clean).
  17. Wow! Sorry to hear you were one of the infected but glad to hear you are on your way to recovery. Hope it comes quickly!
  18. Congratulations! They look great. However, did you get life-size versions? Those look a litle on the small-side for Klipschorns! 😁 P.S. I've heard some say late 70's through early '80's (can't remember exact years) are the best because those models came with AlNiCo magnets. As an owner of 1978 walnut oiled Klipschorns myself, I can tell you the sound can be incredible if everything else is right.
  19. Does anyone have a recommendation on replacement projector lamps -- specific sources, OEM versus aftermarket, etc? I have a JVC projector that I got four years ago and it is possible that there is something wrong other than the lamp. The status indicator lights are doing something that is not covered in the manual and the few internet searches I found with similar results may indicate something other than the lamp. I may have to take it to the place I got it but regardless I'll probably need a replacement lamp before too long anyway.
