  1. I've got a 430 that I would sell. HOGFAN
  2. I picked up Colter's 682/362 setup, which offers plenty of low end. For the 301's, I just run them as is. The 301's have quite a bit of bass, as they are. Are you looking for subs for your 301's? HOGFAN
  3. I talked to this guy yesterday and plan to pick them up tomorrow, as I head over to Gatlinburg for a few days. I'm not sure what I'll do with them.....it should give me a good project over winter. Would a pair of 511B's work well for 2 ch listening.....at moderate to high volume? I might even try a 3-way setup with these....guess I'll need a pair of xovers too. I'll keep y'all posted. I'm sure I'll need help in getting these setup! Thanks, Hogfan
  4. Rockhoud, I think I've shared this pic with you before, but not sure....I refinished the boxes with Duratex and added new fabric from Parts Express. These are my tailgating speakers....perfect for Razorback games! I did look at possibly doing the grills in a perforated steel, but thought I would try just adding new fabric first.....I'm happy with this option...for now. Hogfan
  5. Rockhound, I run mine with a QSC GX-5, using an HK 730 as preamp, and it's pretty awesome. They can handle all that the GX-5 will dish out, with ease! When I got mine a couple of yrs back, I noticed the crossovers looked different. Bob Crites helped me get the crossovers corrected and refreshed and I added new tweeter diaphragms. Good luck with your 301's.....they are great speakers! Hogfan
  6. Cousin Eddie left Canada because the sh_tter is full!
  7. Jim, I have never listened to an SX-1250, but I own a 730 and two 430's.....and I will say that I'm not surprised, given how impressed I've been with the HK units. Thanks for sharing your comparison! Hogfan
  8. Klipsch is out of them right now....they said it will be about 30 days before they get them in. Hogfan
  9. If anyone has a good working K-137 tweeter that they would like to sell, please let me know. I would even consider buying a pair. Thanks, Hogfan
  10. Thanks Youthman! My man cave is about 14 x 20. I've been on a quest to fit two systems in there.....2 channel and HT. I have Forte II's set up for 2ch and will be running RB-35's/RC-7 with the RSW-15 for HT. The 35's sit in the bookshelves perfectly, taking up no floor space. I'm gaining ground.....although sometimes I think I'm just running in circles. Hogfan
  11. Yes I did. Got it hooked up last night.....sounding great. Until I pretty her up, I just have to close my eyes. Before buying it, I tested it out....checked drivers and the inside....everything was in order. The guy I bought it from is in the auction business....he's buying and selling in bulk on a regular basis.....he had picked it up a few weeks back as part of a buy he did. When I get around to sprucing her up, I'll post some pics. Until then, I'm all ears! Hogfan (and it hurts!)
  12. It is certainly rough looking, but the guy says it works great. I'm picking it up tomorrow. Hopefully, a quick bit of TLC on the outside (paint), will ease the looks. Hogfan
  13. Rockhound, Those 201's look sweet..... Enjoy! If you happen to make it to the Razorback game in LR next weekend, give me a shout.....I normally set up my 301's for pregame/tailgating, but thinking about pulling out the big boys I got from Colter......362's and 682's......since Brad Paisley is doing a concert beside us after the game. Brad won't mind a little Cash!
  14. .....and you're goin to get mugged if you go down town.......I live back in the woods ya see, my woman and my kids and my dogs and me..... The stock market has defied many other economic indicators for the past couple years or more....I'm afraid we are seeing some normalizing take place. Hogfan
  15. +1 for the old HK twin powered receivers. I have the 730 and two 430's.....can't be beat for the money! The 730 powered LS's for awhile....just amazing. Now, the 730 is hooked up to Forte II's....hard to believe such a small wattage amp can deliver that much clean power. One of my 430's is running some KG 2.5's...very sweet as well. Hogfan
  16. John, Roy is the go-to guy regarding this system. I just replaced a K-47-ep2 18" woofer in one of my KP 682's.....I called Klipsch (1-800-KLIPSCH) and got it ordered.....I believe it ships out of Hope....and I received it about 2-3 days later. Seems like it was about $225 or so. Also, I live and work in WLR within a couple of miles of your church....drive by it daily. If you need any help with the installation, I'd be glad to swing by and offer a hand. Hogfan
  17. I agree. It may have been bad timing for your post, but said nothing in my view that was even close to problematic. If some others had posted as you did, the thread would still be there. I appreciate the apology, it shows me your character. Of course I accept whatever you offer, but honestly the deleted thread had nothing to do with you. +++ Edit: After I wrote my reply to you, I read what Dtel's Wife wrote directly upstream. I agree with her, and she stated things perfectly. It is I who owe the Klipsch Forum members an apology for opening the door on a sensitive subject. It was my fault to begin with, no matter how things ended up. I bear full responsibility. Dave, I can assure you that this was not your fault. I would like to apologize to you and the forum for my last post in the locked thread, which I'm sure caused the lock. I was heatly (but sincere) responding directly to a member that I, unfortunately, let sway my better judgement. I should have ignored him, but I didn't. Going forward, I'll be the first to blow the whistle on any political discussions here. To be fair, trying to discuss such a topic on any forum is mindless and unfortunately I was a participant in this one. It is only fair to all parties involved when this issue is discussed face to face....not behind a keypad. My apologies! Hogfan
  18. I certainly will! One of the 430's is just collecting dust now, but the other one is in use....as well as the 730. I know the prices on these units have increased a bit recently, but in the grand scheme of things.....a 430 for say $150 or a 730 for $200 or so.....for that money (with the performance), what else is out there?
  19. You may want to look for an HK 430 or 730....for the money I think they would be hard to beat. I ran my LS's with the 730 and it was substantially better than my newer HK AVR and my Sansui AU-717 (which was pretty decent). The 730 seemed to really open up the mid-horn on the LS's....and certainly enhanced the low-end. I now have the 730 connected to my Forte II's and it sounds very good! I'm such a fan of the twin powered HK's, that I also have 2 of the 430's......very sweet units. Hogfan
  20. I have never heard the Forte's before, but I own the Forte II's. I had the RF-7 setup. Further, I have compared them head to head for both movies and music. For movies, the 7's win hands down! For music, it is a lot closer race....depending on the music, the volume, etc.. For me, I prefer the "older" sound of the Forte II's, rather than the "ultra-crisp and in-your-face" dynamics of the 7's. Again, that is just me. I know some people say the 7's look more modern and sleeker......I glad my ears seem to work better than my eyes. Hogfan
  21. I'm very sorry for your loss. Peace and comfort to you and your family!
  22. Rockhound, The 301's are awesome...you won't regret! I have a pair and they flat out rock, jam, thump....whatever you want to call it! Here's a pic of my "Razorback" 301's.... Hogfan
  23. Chris Farley in "Living in a Van Down by the River"!
  24. Monty, It was great meeting you and your wife. I have no doubt you will enjoy the 7's and the 15! They should fit in nicely with your Klipsch collection. Hope y'all had a great trip back home. Hogfan
