    Cornwalls

That and the fact that he responded 4 minutes after her?? initial post.
  2. I've read that some SACD's cd layers are horrible, worse than the original plain cd. Some say in an attempt to distinguish the superiority of the SACD layer. Therefore when people compare the two they will hear an appreciable difference in formats. I would not put this past them either.
  3. It would probably be a waste of money. There's really not much difference in design although the CF-3s are built a little better and the carbon graphite woofers sound different, and In my opinion, better than the reference series woofers.
  4. Mdeneen-"I'm voting for the L.A. stripper. Hell, if I'm going to be groped OR screwed I'd rather it be from the opposite sex". Your not saying you have a problem with elected officials groping and screwing women are you? As long as they can successfully accomplish the job they were elected to do, than who cares about any extracurricular activity, right? The people of California should worry no longer, Buffet will most certainly straighten that mess up. Good Lord
  5. Geez you have a lot of cd's Steve. How do you like that Adcom cd player?
  6. "The Earz and Highlander, Together again", TOO funny...
  7. Thanks for all the replies.....The foundation is concrete with all the walls being wood. There is two, two car garages in between units so if there is an issue of him hearing my stereo, I believe it's minimal. I also always listen with door closed and blanket pushed under the door. Wouldn't putting some type of thicker curtain material on the wall facing the speakers tame the highs a tad?
  8. I live in a duplex, and although my neighbors have never complained about any loud music, sometimes when I'm listening I get this little voice in the back of my head telling me to TURN IT DOWN-YOUR NEIGHBORS are getting PISSED. I want to cover one wall, the wall to which the speakers point to, with some type of curtain or fabric the will do two things, kill reflections, and to some extent help sound proof the room a little. The wall is 10'x8'. I'm just going to nail the fabric/curtain on the wall since I rent. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best type of material to use? Thanks......................................................................
  9. Hammerin, Don't know anything about the equipment you listed but I can tell you that I love my Epic's. Great imaging and soundstage depth, and are able to take anything you throw at them. I think you'd be impressed with the CF-4's. Use the spikes and toe them in, let us know what you find out...
  10. The hurricane, already weakened by a pocket of dry air, is going to slam into another large area of westerly flow and dry air, which should really diminish this thing. Leave the cornwalls and just buy an umbrella. I'm personal friends with Christina Abernathy, I wish. GOOD LUCK, hope everything turns out alright for all of you on the east coast.
  11. Now Allan, you didn't have to pull out the Journey card!
  12. Kjohnsonhp....Norah Jones sounds great on my am/fm Delco car stereo, I just can't imagine her SACD sounding anything but remarkable. CD listening--Depeche Mode-the singles Vinyl listening--Byrds greatest hits, Cyndi Lauper-shes so unusual, and Journey Escape which I picked up last week for two dollars that absolutely kills any compressed Journey cd I own.
  13. Greg....check out VTL, I think they have something along those lines.
  14. Online I've seen it for 25.00, I paid 26 or so for mine which I didn't mind since I walked out of the store with it.
  15. Artto, The picture with you and Waters isn't loading, unless it's my computer.
  16. Dean-Artto....let's just say both Waters and Gilmour are the "MAN". ha,ha. Waters is obviously a musical genius no doubt about it, but one of my favorite Floyd albums of all time is "A Momentary Lapse of Reason", after Roger left, I just love that album. Gilmour is pretty much solely responsible for everything on the album. All I have is the cd, I would love to find it on vinyl.
  17. Strabo....Yea, I have the MOFI recording to. I was given the record by a friend and the dang thing looks to be in decent shape but just plays horrible. He said the record spun many times back in the DAY at parties and etc. so it's past it's prime. Since getting into vinyl I have come to realize looks can be deceiving. I have some records that just look pristine that sound horrible and some that look average and throw goosebump sounds back at ya, go figure...
  18. Dean, I have the original cartridge the came mounted on the table. It's a Goldring 1012gx, I believe it's around 175.00 if you buy it separately. Artto, you can get the album from MusicDirect, Acoustic Sounds. Also, that guitar is Awesome, what a nice piece of memorabilia to have. I should tell you I picked up that album at my a local cd/music store in Omaha, so you might just want to check your local specialty music store first. The guy working there said there selling them faster than they can get them in.
  19. Just picked this album up yesterday. It comes with three full size posters, included a new (and very cool) Anniversary poster, and three stickers, always cool. All that plus the heavyweight virgin vinyl record. The record itself was almost too beautiful to even play. This recording kills the cd version I have in all area's. Much tighter and extended bass, more seperation of the instruments, especially noticeable at loud volumes, more decay of the notes, and obviously a tad more air with it being vinyl compared to the cd. Overall I'm just thrilled with it, and it will probably become my centerpiece of my vinyl collection. Clare Torry's vocals on the "The Great Gig in the Sky" are incredible, spine tingling, with much more depth than the cd. Pick it up and give it a spin, you won't be disappointed.
  20. I guess I don't have it so bad. My employer pays time and a half for every hour after your 40hrs is accumulated, with Sunday's being double time regardless of your hours during the week. Very easy to follow and fair, too bad were not working very much overtime anymore though..ha,ha
  21. Do you use your sub when listening to music? If so I would highly suggest moving your C.D. player off the top of the sub. Nice system...
  22. Klipsch sure did promote there NEW MONSTER wire in there new line of speakers. Hell, if all these tests came back so utterly inconclusive and negative then Klipsch is just playing us all for fools huh? This is all about Tailoring the sound of your system to your liking. Why wouldn't it be. From the type of power amps we use to the sources we play our music on, it's all tailoring. Is it (fidelity)? WHO cares as long as the individual enjoys the way HIS system presents the music he listens to.
  23. Jef and Leok....Thanks guys for the information.
  24. Jef, What do you think of the player? Sacd and C.D.? What have you had to compare it to? Sorry for all the questions, but am considering picking one up. Thanks
