  1. For sale are three Electro Voice DH1A 2 inch exit drivers and matching HP640 horns. All drivers have stock EV diaphragms. Two of the drivers and horns are painted "antique bronze" from when I used them on top of my Klipschorns, the third horn is wrapped in a dynamat like product. I have found these drivers and horns to be a wonderful combo and still have a pair in my basement theater. They can be used on a Klipschorn/Belle/LaScala with only a slight modification to the stock passive crossover. $200 each for a horn and driver combo, or $500 for all three. These drivers are crazy heavy and the horns are not small so local pickup (Cincinnati area) is prefered.
  2. I have been restraining myself from ordering one to see how it compares to my Schiit Aegir on the K402s. I also eagerly await your review.
  3. Look in great shape and in pretty walnut. https://dayton.craigslist.org/ele/d/dayton-vintage-frazier-monte-carlo/7422643253.html
  4. Please elaborate, I am not sure what you mean.
  5. I am thinking about moving my tuba table sub to my rural place in NC. I would use it with a pair of JBL monitors I recently aquired on a large screen porch. Since this is a mostly open space with no wall behing the tuba table do you think it will perform well? It is a wondeful sub in an enclosed space but I am questioning its ability to deal with such an open space with no wall behind it.
  6. Pending. A forum member is coming by tomorrow to get them.
  7. For sale is a pair of Klipsch KG 3.2 speakers with walnut finish. The speakers are in excellent working condition and the beutiful walnut finish is also in excellent condition. This will be a local pick up sale, West Chester, OH (Cincinnati area). $250
  8. I finnaly worked it out with the seller. Apparently his wife got involved and told him to sell me the speakers for the agreed on price. 🤣 These really sound nice, they remind me quite a bit of my Cornwalls but more refined and detailed. Big fat bass as well, though a sub will be needed for the bottom octave or so. I'm going to really enjoy these.
  9. My experience applies to BMWs but is probably the same for Audi. It's not the parts that are expensive, it's the labor costs that are sky high. If you can DIY most repairs then owning one is not a lot more expensive than a Honda. However the key to getting a long and happy life with one is doing some research and getting ahead of part failures. Too many times one part failure can result in a cascade of part failures so knowing when to replace is important. That said I now drive a Subaru.
  10. A Quarter Pie bass horn with the mid horn of your choice would fit your space. My center with the big EV 640 on top is only 30 inches tall. There are good smaller mid horns that would work well too and reduce the height further. This will have no issues keeping up with Klipschorns.
  11. I was excited to hear these but the seller suddenly increased the price when I tried to set up a time to meet. 😳 Too bad but no rush. Too damn cold to be sitting on the screen porch anyway.
  12. Trying to set up a meeting to check them out tomorrow. They are similar in size to a Cornwall (shorter but fatter) and weigh 108 pounds. Definitely going to need to install casters if I get them to move them into the house during bad weather.
  13. There is a pair of JBL 4628B Caberet Series speakers for sale near me. One owner, seemingly used as home speakers instead of gigging. Any experiece with these? I would be using them at my rural place on a big screen porch.
  14. Enjoy them as they are for long while. Upgrade-itis is a common disease (I have it too). In the long term, IMO the greatest upgrade is to time allign the drivers and that can be acheived without any aleration to the speaker. After that if you want to go crazy get a set of K402 and place them on top and you will have 90% of a Julilee. Have fun!
  15. If it was my money I would start there. The beauty of an efficient speaker like the H4 is that you don’t need to spend a ton to get a great sound.
  16. It can be done, and quite easily. I used this with my Yaqin tube amp, worked perfectly connecting to a Klipsch powered sub. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_543ADP12/Russound-ADP-1-2-Speaker-level-to-Line-level-Adapter.html
  17. I am using RP-140SA (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZIQZBTG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) in my 7.1.2 living room Heresy system. In ceiling speakers are not an option (ceiling fans). Orginally had them on top of Corwalls, now Heresy IVs. They do a nice job with atmos stuff without standing out as different from the Heritage sound which was my main concern when buying them. In ceiling would prorbaly be better for atmos but if not an option I recommend these without hesitation.
  18. I also have an Aegir that I use with my Klipschorns. Very nice amp in my system but not totally quiet (very faint hiss). Otherwise a great amp, though I use a Crown now on the bass bin and let the Aegir have the K402s. The Aegir loves the mids but the Crown gives better bass detail.
  19. May not be what you are looking for but I have a couple of Integra DHC-80.3 pre/pros (one is currently a spare). Excellent units with very good dacs that will also decode SACDs. I am currently using one in my Klipschorn/K402 combo. I paid under $500 for each (possibly well under, I don't remember the exact cost). It also has 5.1 analog inputs.
  20. Let me know when you are coming up. It would be pleasure to meet you.
  21. I had a KG4 on it's side in my former all KG series living room setup, and now have a Herersy on it's side in my all Heresy setup. Sideways works fine, esp. for the center channel. That is with LR aprox 14-15 feet apart and the center elevated above tthe TV. YMMV
  22. I did also get a B&C DE750TN for my center channel between the K402s. The center HP640 with the EV DH1A driver did not sound right with the K402/K-691 for LR, but matches up much better with the B&C. I plan on trying a couple more horns to get it just right but the B&C seems to be the same driver as the K-691.
  23. I am going to pretend those don't exist and be happy with the K691s for a long while.
