  1. Why is it when you put something in italics, you can't read it on the dark background? That's kinda dumb. I've often wondered why some posts would show up like that and now I know. Someone should offer him $1600 to end the auction as he's going to lose 10% in ebay fees plus PayPal fees. I would if they were close to me.
  2. If you read the reviews, they really have nothing to do with Belle's but more Klipsch in general. Look at the first two reviews saying, "Bass is remarkable for the size and likely overkill for my kitchen. Wifi was pretty annoying to set up but Spotify and Tidal sound great on it. Haven't listened to anything but the wifi and have no complaints about fidelity. One small issue I have is the levels of volume in between adjustments. The intervals are far too great. I'd hope a firmware update corrects something like this as I believe it is a digital setting" and "These are some serious speakers. They have a fantastic sound, especially paired with a powered subwoofer. I have a open ground floor, kitchen, dining, and living room. The sound fills that entire space at a comfortable volume. I can entertain, and have music going, without it drowning out my guest's conversations. I spent $110, with shipping, and while definitely not cheap, new Klipsch speakers in the same class will cost much more. The speakers are bigger than you'd think, so double check the dimensions, and their weight. I would not mount these to a wall with only drywall anchors, you'll probably want to find a wall beam or stud." Pretty sure we're not talking about Belle's being too big for a kitchen or being $110 with shipping. Sounds like small generic Klipsch speakers.
  3. Not a bad price at all if you're in California. Walnut maybe? http://www.ebay.com/itm/252858694957?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  4. My stuff is always hardwired unless it's just impossible. Wired is ALWAYS better than wireless in connection. It kills me that at the school where I'm a Network Admin, we have so much wrapped up in wireless devices between laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, Samsung tablets, TI calculators, etc. But it's the 1100+ desktops that give the least amount of trouble; especially come testing time. (which is always) I've got direct connections I wired from my modem/router/switch to any devices in any room I can. There's only one bedroom that isn't just because it's a PIA to get a cable down an outside wall with the insulation in it. My 9 year old can just use wireless for his stuff in there. ha
  5. And after a little over a month with them, I still feel like my CF-3's "best" the Cornwall's in my living room. Not saying anything is wrong with the Cornwall's whatsoever. But, on both the VTA ST-70 (22 wpc in Triode, /35 wpc in Pentode) or the Carver (460 wpc), the CF-3's take them. Even my wife who could care less says they just don't sound as good. And her hearing is definitely better than mine. ha So who knows...they may move on down the road before long. Belle project isn't too far from starting.
  6. Check out the Carver site for more details and options... http://thecarversite.com/yetanotherforum/
  7. These are just some of the reasons I chose to stay away from those...as much as I liked how they looked. Definitely good looking amps. But pop the covers off those OPT's and have a look.
  8. Yeah, I think Infinity Kappa's are the last speakers I'd bridge a stock M-1.0t amp to. Now, upgrade it to a M-1.0t MkII Opt 002 at 460 wpc and try that.
  9. I'm using a variac with my VTA ST-70 dialed to 117 volts as my wall voltage is 125 volts. I used this one...works like a champ for my needs. 5 amp capacity and the amp has a 3 amp fuse so plenty. https://www.circuitspecialists.com/variac-variable-ac-ps05kva.html
  10. Tube amps....never left on when not around. I don't want the amp fighting the air conditioner in the house....
  11. I believe that's the ones I got...the original ones.
  12. I'll start another thread for it but if anyone is interested in the Cornwalls, I'm about 2.5 hours from Hope and could possibly bring them down on that Saturday.
  13. Since a fellow forum member had some parts I needed, I'll finally get to start on my Belle clones sometime in the next month...hopefully. The grill assembly, K-501's, K-55's, and Type A crossovers will be in tomorrow and will reside by the K-33 woofers and CT120's till start time. Very excited to get them started and will be buying new saw blades for the Baltic Birch cabinets. I figure that's about the best as there's no good plywood locally at Lowes, etc. Still not sure about the Cornwalls after a month of listening. They do sound very good, but, they don't "best" my CF-3's in my living room. Even my wife, who could care less plus has better hearing than me, said they sound "nice" but not like the others. So, most likely they will move along here soon. I sure wish I didn't have tinnitus where things I know sound good, I could hear them like they actually do. My mind has to recreate what it once knew in the past.
  14. Dang. Almost twice as much as I paid for mine.
  15. My VTA ST-70 leaves me no curiosity about ever obtaining a Mac tube amp. I just can't justify the money in thinking it could trump what I have. Maybe if I had hearing like I used to with no tinnitus....it might be another story.
  16. You should do the BillD mods to that C-1. It turns it into a stellar performer that's dead quiet and has an awesome Phono 1 section (2 isn't touched). I ran it and my M-1.0t MkII Opt 002 (460 wpc) and there was no noise on my CF-3's. Not sure about the Cornwalls, though. The VTA ST-70 is running now.
  17. Oops. I meant to post this on my Belle thread and apparently posted in his! My bad!
  18. Belle project is still going. Thanks to another forum member, I have the horns, K-55's, Type AA crossovers, and grills secured. Already have a new pair of K-33's and will rebuild the Type AA or alter it to be a Type A/4500 since I'll be using CT-120 tweeters. Now to come up with the time to build as I'm still finishing up things from my mother's passing back in january, have to rebuild a wood deck on our house soon, also replace five 4x4 posts and 5 sections of a privacy fence. Fun fun. But to update, finally coming together.
  19. Payment just sent via PayPal.
  20. I'll take the remaining.
  21. Maybe give it that JBL Project Everest D55000 look. I know the 402 is larger than that but they do remind me of the pair we had in our store back in the mid/late 80's.
  22. Or maybe find an Astron powrr supply like what we used on car audio display boards back in the day. Might be a little pricey, though.
  23. It kind of looks like the Triode, USA board. Just sell that board and get the VTA board with separate bias adjustments. It's a great sounding board.
  24. That's definitely not a tubes4hifi VTA driver board as it has no bias adjustments on the board itself. That one of the other brands that slips my mind at the moment. I'll see if I can find it. I believe it goes with those front bias adjustments in place of the original sockets where the probes would normally go. Looks like a single adjustment per pair versus separate for each tube.
