  1. I sent him an email. Thanks for posting!
  2. I switched from using Open Office on my server/desktop to Office 2010 as I was missing some stuff and it was showing errors. So, here is what it's showing me which looks correct. I figure that's a good horn size for the Belle. Just debating on putting a tweeter off to the side or keeping it above in the top hat and making it taller.
  3. Well, I was going to work on these some today but it's about 115 degrees in the garage even with fans going. Too dang hot. I went by the local office supply place to get some engineering graph paper to draw out the layout but they done have 1" engineering graph paper with .10 inch increments. Crud...
  4. Yep...that's it....just wasn't wording it correctly. So it doesn't need to be "pinched in" right after the throat, right? I didn't see it done that way in Edgar's paper on Tractrix. That's going to drop to a small opening since the throat on the adapter is 7/8".
  5. On the center, sidewall and front view in the attachment above, the far left is at the throat, I understand. Why does it flare slightly up instead of starting at a "0" point at the throat? Do I come out to the "flat" point for starting the graph? Does that make sense?
  6. No, actually, that makes it make more sense now. I see on the spreadsheet it makes the 3 different lines/curves for the tractrix expansion so the straight line will be that "triangle" section that gives you the angle for the top and bottom pieces of the horn. Then, the tractrix curve is duplicated for both sides and both of those are in relation to the throat size (1" in this case...give or take) to the exit end. Ok, that may not make sense on your end but I'm not as familiar with all the indepth techie part. ha. But I see how I can take this info and draw it out on graph paper and convert it to wood. I think I'm getting there. But those pics would be great as your time allows. Most appreciated!
  7. What is the output in AutoCAD supposed to ultimately look like? My friend is questioning whether or not he's seeing the right thing. All I've done is fill in the four areas in red, as stipulated, and taken the information from the 3 columns and moved it to notepad, changed the extension to .scr, and ran it as a script in AutoCAD. But, me personally, I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for and he's asking me what is supposed to be there. He has the printer to print those kind of things out with on blueprint paper, etc. Will it show the triangle pieces (for lack of better term) that are the top and bottom then show the Tractrix pattern curve? I emailed the person on the website a few days ago but no response.
  8. I was the rep for Onkyo and Integra when this HDMI board issue first started. They were quick to get them replaced or repaired however they needed to do it. After the board replacement, there was seldom an issue and we had no complaints. That's a dang good receiver. If I were into surround still, I might be interested. But, I can get Onkyo and Integra at employee purchase price still.
  9. I bought a Jico SAS for my Shure V15 Type IV about 8 years ago and it's still sounding great. It hasn't had a ton of playing time and still sounds great.
  10. Do all three columns of information get put into a single text file and converted or is each column done separately? I emailed Erik and will see if I get a reply as well. Is the final information supposed to be printable from a plotter and give the layout that's needed for cuts and the tractrix curve I'm assuming?
  11. I do appreciate the offer but, for now, I'm trying to keep everything under the top hat. Now, when we buy/build a new house and I have them in a separate room, then I'll open up for more options. I know I could build the top section a little taller and get the K-510 in there, though. Hmmm... I have the wood, and capability, of building the wooden Tractrix horn...it's just getting it plotted out. I got the information saved from the spreadsheet columns to a text file and emailed to my buddy to change the extension to a .scr file. Oddly enough, Gmail blocks those file extensions.
  12. Is that shag carpet on them? Nice. Still decent deal.
  13. Unfortunately that would be way out of my price range as good as it would be.
  14. What part of OK? Tulsa is a tad over 6 hours one way to Omaha. I did that drive in a days time some years back to buy something. Left early and was home before dark.
  15. Those $2700 and up prices are the reason I'm building clone Belle's. Already have 2 sheets of 4 x 8 Baltic birch and a new pair of K-33's. Now for the heat to calm down to start on the cabinets.
  16. Those are some good sounding little amplifiers. That and I always liked the Crown "look".
  17. Soooooo, there are two threads in Garage Sale for the same speakers? Or did I see something wrong?
  18. Can anyone tell me which CAD program version works best for entering those "coordinates" and if they are all entered at once or separately? Wanting to start the horns soon.
  19. I don't have a room big enough for the Jubes just yet and the Belle's work for the amount of space in there (as do my CF-3's). No doubt about the Jubes being the cats meow...maybe someday. I've got two 4 x 8 sheets of Baltic Birch ready to go...just waiting on it not to be 125 degrees in my garage where I'll have to build them. Already have a new pair of K-33's, too.
  20. For that shipping price, you could get a one way plane ticket to Little Rock, rent a van, and drive them back. Only a two day drive if booking it. Offer him less.
  21. Did these ever get done or did I completely miss the post somewhere else?
  22. 200 watts @ 1kHz and 1% distortion doesn't really equate to a ton of power when compared to something rating at full bandwidth of 20Hz to 20kHz at the same, or less, distortion figures. All that does is make it "appear" to have a lot of power. I was an Onkyo/Integra rep for 9 years (from 2000 to 2009) and I never liked how they, or other comparable companies, power rated their receivers. It's similar to how they rate the power on the cheaper HTiB receivers. Definitely a nice looking receiver and a venture away from the look of the last decade of their products. The more "normal" rating of power is on the last page of the owners manual.... Amplifier Section Rated Output Power (North American) With 8 ohm loads, both channels driven, from 20-20,000 Hz; rated 140 watts (TX-RZ900)/135 watts (TX-RZ800) per channel minimum RMS power, with no more than 0.08% total harmonic distortion from 250 milliwatts to rated output. Surround Mode Output Power (Ú) (6 ohms, 1 kHz THD 0.9%) 200 W (TX-RZ900)/185 W (TX-RZ800) per channel * Reference output for each speakers
