Yes, I used pictures from the internet. If they are both basically new, what's the difference? If need be I will unpack it again and take pics. you really going to put me through that for $349.00 ? Oh yes, I am lowering the price to $349.00 via PayPal. Net to me. I purchased  from Schiit 08/08/22, Qrder ID 353456. I am the original owner.

  2. Ok, so you got pics from the website but what about your actual preamp. Also, how long have you owned it? Are you original owner? Been pondering this one, or the unit that replaced these, and just how much of a difference it would be over my fully rebuilt Carver C-1 preamp with added remote.  Bad side is I'd have to add a phono preamp.

Deang -I bought a pair of Super AA's from AL they sound worse than the stock 40 yr old ones I replaced.

Al took my old x-overs in trade so now I'm stuck with worse sounding x-overs.

I was reading his marketing copy regarding the SUper AA's being a huge upgrade and now I just feel like I was grifted by Al. In fact, I reached out to Al and he just doesn't care.  So sad. Please advise if the x-overs I have are salvagable.

Do you wanna sell 'em? ;)

  4. I'm about to repaint some speakers using Krylon Black Satin Acrylic Latex paint which is about the closest thing currently to the Valspar Satin Black I used years ago refinishing some KLF-30's.  I may strip and repaint my CF-3 v1's back to Satin Black (they already are) as the paint looks really bad from the factory...like Mary Jane Monday paint job.  If there's oak underneath, I could care less as I'd rather have satin black as I would to look at oak veneer.  Many times, sub-par veneer versions on speakers would be shot with black satin to cover it up as it didn't meet their standards....with any manufacturer.

As mentioned already, and is always true, preparation is key to a good finish.

  5. @WMcD Hope you are doing well! I met your brother in law, Joe, on Saturday. Made a 12 hour round trip run to Dallas from central Arkansas and picked up his Speakerlab K's, the center channel stuff, spare Crites woofers and a single B&C DE85-8 driver.  Looking forward to updating them and making them sing again. We had a fun time finagling them down those corner stairs. Ha.

Was curious what you guys were going to do with that single B&C driver.  He also mentioned that the Crites woofers were going to be set up as subs but that never came about.  What were you guys pondering? Man, that's a big upstairs room they were in!

Again, I hope you are doing well. It's been fun reading back through all the years of your posts about the Speakerlab K's and other things.
