  1. Definitely easy "monkey coffins" to build and you can keep all the drivers in the front for better flexibility plus do some good bracing.
  2. Listing shows sold. Those are a flippers dream
  3. Wow... If I were closer, I wouldn't be telling all you yay-hoos. Lol. No affiliation https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/725627892332239/?mibextid=dXMIcH

    CL: ...?

Pretty but for $3200, I'll just build my own set and save some bank. Man, prices are nutso. But to each their own.
  5. Somehow I just knew the K402 would be thrown in the mix...
  6. Sell them and find some Epic CF-3's which are front ported. Problem solved! lol I had the same issue with KLF-30's and their rear ports not allowing them to work like I needed them to in our last house. The dual 10" CF-3's sounded night and day better than the dual 12" KLF-30's in that particular room. But I agree completely that rear ported or rear passives do sometimes make it tough to sound right in some rooms where you just can't, or don't want to for aesthetic reasons, have them so close to a wall.
  7. No doubt. I'd buy them at $175 and build new cabinets for them since those are about as simple of a cabinet as you can make. You could have a set of Heresy II's or Forte's or Tangents.
  8. There's no color dot or marker of any kind near one terminal? Is one terminal wider than the other? I would guess not as you wouldn't be asking. Lol. As mentioned, a pic might help.
  9. Nice speakers and decent price except they have the wrong passive radiators in them. Or at least one of them does. What they should look like...
  10. I'd thought about Klipschorns for my upstairs room but will not pay the stupid prices they are asking; It's just not that important to me. If it got down to it, I'd probably build a set, like I did my Belle inspired speakers I built 5 years ago. Sure they aren't the real thing but also not $5k+ and if I get 90% of the sound, I'll never know the difference. lol I shoulda kept that mint original owner set I bought 15 years ago for $500. Sigh...
  11. Would seem like v/c windings would have to be pretty exact to get the parameters right, I would think. But I'm not a v/c winder. Lol
  12. @OO1 So you own some of these and are speaking from experience? @Chief bonehead Is that true with these K-1020 or 1030N woofers, Roy?
  13. @doobiesd Here's some just in case. Kind of pricey as one would expect. https://www.ebay.com/itm/385363831067?hash=item59b979691b:g:wGcAAOSwJb5jrNnb&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoEo%2F526UMqjwvjioeUEeHbUw%2B9Wmw8rhBJW6LV4niOqO2X3NmAmXZFKprrZ8IKYyDF4wzie%2BQ3hV9fJccuJBZmJBmDfsJTtkh3T0t7T7QnOPdf4J%2BPlxcUl6gAr5CNDu57s8fC3iAMp7%2B64Xf7jL3ze2r40KJsfE3eMXfqw2WYT0lsk8eEltk1BFyLOq4J4L59WOzDA4yxacYxiZDf%2F%2FUko%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8iKj4G-YQ
  14. @Travis In Austin FYI.... The captain is over at Audiokarma posting now under the name "capbeefheart" in the tube audio section as of last night. https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/kt77-worth-it.1020578/
  15. You might update the thread title to say that.
  16. @robp Would be interested to see pics and an actual price maybe.
  17. And it's happening again this year; I get my 1099-NEC for $4900. Let's say it's not added to income for the sake of conversation (it will be on taxes...don't worry). With it NOT there, we would get a refund of $993 ($231 Fed, $762 state). The moment it gets added, it swings to paying $1,266 Federal with a $521 state refund...so owing $745 overall. There's no deductions for this work as it's basic IT work for them. I won't be doing it this next year...or I'll keep it to $600 and that's it. Seems like another $2k swing again...give or take. Sheesh. Just seems like a big swing for it being added in.
  18. I've had 2 pairs of Cornwalls over the last 20 years. 1978 versions, mostly stock, and 1985 II's, mostly stock. They were "ok" but neither lasted long. It was mainly the room they were in where the Epic CF-3's just annihilated them in most every respect. But I've heard them in other rooms where they did quite well. As far as the IV's go, I'm sure they sound great but I would never consider paying retail price for sure and probably not the used pricing. But that's just me.
  19. When you copy & paste something, it's best to "paste as plain text" so it doesn't stand out so much.
