  1. @Morse Gist There is a really pricey set by the usual LR flipper for $4800 if you can see these on FB Marketplace. No affiliation. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1743597649351102/
  2. Hmm....ad is still up. Surprising. Maybe it's the location part. There's a pair of '87 Khorns that have been on FB Marketplace in south AR for $8k for quite a few months now. May be there a lot longer. I wish my upstairs short wall was wider than 15' as I have two good corners; but I don't want to put them in such a small area. My long wall is 28' but not laid out where it would work.
  3. How are you liking that preamp and amp so far? Still eyeballing one of those preamps over going the Schiit route and having to add a DAC, phono preamp, etc. Would rather have less gear.
  4. Yes. Anything else is way too shiny or way too dull.
  5. I agree. If you get a good quality Satin black, I'm sure they will be just fine.
  6. Back in 2017, I think it was, when I repainted a set of KLF-30's back to satin black, I just used a good brush and they looked excellent. Also, IIRC, that certain Valspar #40 Satin Black is no more and you have to find someone at Lowes, or elsewhere, that knows a few things about paint. That may be tough, though. Edit...it was 2015 when I painted them. Here is some info from back then.
  7. Are they K-1020 or K-1030 woofers? Personally, I stay away from old silver receivers anymore. Get an actual power amp of some sort.
  8. Last seen here Oct 29, 2022 and looks like his only posts are for selling things. @STANGBOYS You still around?
  9. I haven't used a CD player in years now. Still have well over a thousand CD's but they are all ripped to a Synology NAS and I rarely even use JRiver anymore. About the same with my LP's; around 800 and haven't spun one in close to 2 years.
  10. Or a B-stock Freya S for $499 with a remote and more inputs. There's also the Emotiva BasX PT1 and PT2. I'm not a big fan of them but they have a phono in, remote, and an old dac chip.
  11. @Jefferson6599 Any updates on woofer? I know it's the holiday season so things tend to slow down.
  12. Seriously....if these were close to me, I'd buy them so I could have 2 pairs side by side. THAT would be pretty serious. lol.
  13. @Erald You are using the R-41PM's remote control sub volume as well, correct? My thought would be to set the sub volume fairly high and then use the sub control on the remote. This is a new sub or used? Any other device that you can connect it to just to make sure it's good to go. Looks to be a pretty cut and dried hookup.
  14. @OO1 Do you even read posts all the way before commenting? He has a pair of R-41PM speakers which need no AVR; there is a sub out on the R-41PM.
  15. Interesting as I've been contemplating that same Rotel preamp and amplifier on the used market as well. The hardest time I have with used is the no warranty thing....even if the item is 6 months old since warranty is non-transferrable. I've used my same fully rebuilt Carver C-1 pre (with added remote volume) and M-1.0t amp for over a decade now and kind of wanted some newer gear but, I'm a tight *** and won't pay retail. lol. I was in that industry for 25 years and spent the last 9 years as a manufacturers rep and there are some things I can still buy at cost or rep sample price. But the problem is, the stupid world we live in now where there are constant shortages. The other setup I've looked at is the Parasound P6 with the A23+ amp as I can get them for cost. Or, I'll buy either the Rotel or Parasound preamp and keep using my Carver amp which is rated at 460wpc. I like power. Those who say 5 or 10 watts is enough power on Epics don't own Epics. These speakers are NOT realistic on their sensitivity rating and they do like power.
  16. @jjptkd Are you still liking that Schiit Freya+ preamp? I still think about the Freya S but then I'm still stuck with having to have DAC's and a Phono preamp. That in comparison to being able to buy a Parasound P6 and calling it good in a single chassis. Amps look nice

    RIP FRANCO

Oh man....hate to hear that. RIP, Franco.
  18. That's a great deal! Glad to see you posting these over here, too! GLWS!
  19. If I were to blow that kind of money, I'd be looking at separates. But that's just me. Nice integrated, though.
  20. Just use some sort of photo resizing tool built into Android, iOS or Windows and you can get them sized down to the tiny picture requirements here.
  21. I apparently spent fifty bucks on an Audioquest Pearl USB cable 5 years ago this month. Can't say it sounds any better since my hearing is sub-par. But at least it's sturdy and I suppose decent.
  22. That's been a thought I've had, too. I might have my wife do the steady hand work as she's the gifted "surgical closure" who sews people up after dermatology rebuilds. I built lots of models as a kid so remember that paint well. I even thought the opposite direction of spraying them black and touching the tops with something gold. Or, spray them black and then mist some gold paint on a flat piece of paper, etc., and lightly "stamp" the lettering onto it. Gonna be interesting. Thanks for the input.
  23. Again....how much troubleshooting have you done with the woofer that is "bad"?
  24. How many threads do you have to buy a woofer?
