  1. Hopefully Paul W Klipsch & Frank Zappa will never be forgotten. Two great men Indeed. PS. I wonder what Frank did with that "Margerine"
  2. I have that exact receiver , Love it But make sure you get the MACC mike for setup. I might be wrong but i don't think you can do anything untill you run the MACC set up program, and you need the mike that is supplied with the receiver. Tommy boy is right, once you manually dial in the MACC it is a great receiver.
  3. Live music is not laid back. You can hardly read anything with some else playing the violin or the piano in the same room. The sound of live instrument is too much ... in your face. It depends, All I listen to are Live DVD concerts, with a pair of LaScalas and Cornwalls hooked up in 2 channel mode. When people comment on my stereo, they say, Man it is like being there . That said does that mean all live shows are in your face. Yes if you have ACDC cranked , then hell yes it is in your face as it should be. <>But i also listen to many unplugged shows that sound warm and full. Also a lot depends on the MIX. As for Horn versus , I have owned many different types of Speakers and I allways come back to Klipsch , but I would not want Klipsch to be the only speakers people can choose from. <> But your right about one thing , when I am playing a concert No one is reading anything. They just sit there and enjoy.
  4. Hi I am running a Pioneer elite receiver with the main pre out into a carver TFM-25 ( 250 x2) with my Corns and let me tell you when the meters are showing about 5 watts it is loud , 50 watts it is really loud, and when its hits 100 to 150 we are talking live PA sound level that not only is super loud but you start to feel air pressure on you. I am in a 35 x 20 room. What Squaker drivers are those ? My corn 1 have K-55's , just like my LaScalas Tom PS My Elite also has the MCAA set up EQ and it rocks. You can dial any thing in perfect.
  5. Can I add 21. Jesus saves or Jesus loves me road side billboads.
  6. Ditto on everthing said, I have Two TCM 25's and they work great with my La Scalas and Cornwalls, but to be honest I think the Cornwalls would sound good with any amp or reciever hooked up to it. <> I am loving the cornwalls more every Day, IMHO the best sounding speakers I have ever owned. Tom
  7. Happy B day Mike, welcome to the club. If we could just find a way to stop aging at the big 50 that would be great. Tom <>
  8. Already bookmarked, thanks Amy love those pictures of Paul. P.s We are all waiting for embarresing young boy part six i think. The last one where steven thought the woman in the bath room was a man was priceless. We all love that little guy.
  9. Now someone was thinking, I will go with 9,10 & 15. Smart man.
  10. I would love to have the problems of a 250 Thousand a year tax payer. Yes Maybe they are being unfaily taxed by the numbers, but If you are wealthy you have a much better life than some poor saps that have had some bad breaks ( maybe thier fault maybe not) <> In my town we have a guy who owns a business ( batting Cages) who has made a fortune but is always complainings about his taxes. I told him I will gladly pay his taxes if I also have his income. But I agree with Amy on this one. Best to keep this forum about Speakers.
  11. I also have that same receiver. I like it alot , it is hooked up to a pair of LaScalas, Mostly 2 channel Dvd concerts. although I only use it as a pre amp into my carver amp. You do have to read the manual but is fairly simple to set up and i like the eq and sound adjustment for each channel. I bought mine new in the box from Hi fi heaven and it was like 700 no tax plus shipping. Have not got around to the whole 7 channel thing yet, but I bet it will work great. Here is the link. http://www.hifiheaven.net
  12. Check this guy out, I bought one and it really works well. Great guy to deal with. Good luck Tom <> http://www.electric-avenues.com/amplifiers.html
  13. (1) You need a sub-woofer. Yes for the most part yes , especially if you crank them up,but it depends on the music you listen to and the music source is cd or dvd or movies. also sometimes I find I am turnig the sub almost off and sometimes I have to turn it up more. I think it depends on the musi you listen to and how it is mixed. My LaScalas but out plenty of Bass, I cannot put any thing on mine unless I want to find it on the floor in the morning. (2). You should use tube amp and pre-amp. Probably would not hurt, but I just run a Pioneer Elite reciever as my pre amp with a old Carver amp and I love it. (3). You should use GOOD silver speakers cables and interconnects. Also probably would not hurt but i have always used just basic 12 Guage and I have tested high-end speaker cables and I cannot tell any difference, but I am just a novice compared to people most people who have LaScalas. (4) You should have a room min. of 20’ x 20’ Most Definetly, when I bought my LaScalas from a forum member his living room was tiny compared to mine My lower lever is at least 30 x 20 and it was overwelming at his house , but sounds great at mine . Also carpeting versus hard floors it really smoothed the sound out. (5) Placement is fussy . just plunked then down turn them a little have not moved them since. <> Hopefully some of the big guns will reply to help you
  14. Boy I am glad I am not your neighbor, Wait a minute, check that I wish I was your neighbor. Man that has got to rock. Well done tom
