  1. no, but that's a good place to start when humming is the result. it could also be a control pod or a number of other internal components in the sub. its one of those things that is pretty hard to diagnose over internet and if what I wrote doesn't help, then sending to a professional would probably be the best thing.
  2. if I recall correctly it looks like a black square piece of plastic mountecd to the circuit board, it says "BASH" right on it.
  3. try jiggling the BASH chip inside the subwoofer, if possilbe, remove it and reinstall it.
  4. yes, I can replace the din connector, I have done many of the klipsch 4.11 DIN replacements, my charge for that is $33, and that includes return shipping to anywhere in the USA.
  5. ouch, who said to use WD-40? never use that, lol. WD-40 is good for breaking rust, and it makes a good cleaner too, but it is not good for electronics. I don't know why people keep trying that, lol. Okay, I have a controller available if you want it, $77 shipped to anywhere in the USA.
  6. first, try using DeOxit on the pots, if that doesn't fix it, I have one I can sell you, but no, you cant get a 2.1 to work with it that I know of.
  7. go for it, let us know how it works. I've never tried it and I don't use this system anymore to try it.
  8. if I recall correctly they are a 6ohm speaker, and also, ordering a higher wattage speaker will not increase the power going to the sub, but changing the ohms resistance will.so in other words, if you use a 4ohm speaker (100 watt) and a 8 ohm (100 watt) then the 4 ohm will actually draw more power from the amps than the 8 ohm giving it more power, but at the same time, if you draw too much power from the amps then you can burn them out. just food for thought.
  9. Yeah, Probably. But I don't steal peoples controllers. just had a long patch of not being around to do the work. And some people have no revised feedback.
  10. in my opinion, it will be better than the 2.1, the sub for the v.2-400 has 2 drivers in it, the 2.1 sub only has one driver in it. and at that price, I wouldn't pass it up, you can sell it on ebay for $100 and up no problem.
  11. Or you can just buy this on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261004939107 No guess work, green to green, red to red etc...
  12. I do replace the DIN connectors on the 4.1 type systems as well, and no, they are not the same as the 2.1 and my charge for that service is $30 with return shipping included as part of that $30. The New connectors comes guaranteed for life.
  13. I can do it for you, my Charge is $35 plus shipping which is normally around $10 and my new connectorare guaranteed for life.
