I would try the combo with each set of speakers, then let your ears decide which you like best.

Fiio seems from my experience to make decent stuff.
Same here, I've got one of their dac/amps for cell phones and it works quite good.

1 watt of power from the amplifier to drive my Forte IIIs to an SPL of 98 dB at one meter on axis.
Does it drive all frequencies at equal SPL for a whole duration or just in spurts. I think duty cycle on a welder or air compressor?

A better experiment would be pitting two SS or two tube amps of different power ratings against each other on your Fortes.
I would go as far as saying 2 of the same manufactures, with the same topology, etc. For example, Parasound HCA-750 versus Parasound HCA-1000.

I am more than likely wrong, but does it have something to do with impedance swings and the amount of power it takes to keep everything under control?

Settle down. There was a recent reply posted in this thread that was spam and then removed by the mods.Hey I'm not excited, but if the mods are going to delete post, maybe delete ones like Geezins as well so the remaining of the thread makes sense. How was I supposed to know there was a previous post, hence why I said, that it looked as he pulled up a 9 year old thread.
Maybe a "report post as spam" button/option needs to be added so it doesn't appear that people are randomly reporting threads as spam?

It looks as you pulled up a 9 year old thread to accuse it of being spam?

I see these are for sale. Are you selling or buying?
For a good price as well. If they were local, I'd jump on them, but shipping would kill the deal.

Maybe an EV HP640, definitely a K-69 driver ( First series P. Audio BMD750)

I would definitely look for something that is ROON ready. Not sure if you are using ROON, but it's a great program if you are using streaming services such as Tidal, run a media server with High Resolution audio, and want to share it amongst other devices simultaneously.

I have been trying to purchase some Klipsch Cinema Surround speakers, but I'm having trouble finding a dealer
First, welcome back, I believe I have read this thread many moons ago.
As for the cinema speakers, @Paducah Home Theater may know how to help. Good luck with the search, looking forward to your post on this new adventure. If your looking some old timers, try the @ before like @Q-Man and tag them. If they are around they'll see it. Unfortunately we have a long and growing list of fallen forum members over in the lounge. Again, welcome back.

My first wife and I moved quite a number of times, both before and after having kids. The audio gear was always the first thing set up in the new apartment or house. That way we could always have music as we unpacked in the new digs.
She was also at the new place directing movers ( be they friends or paid) where to place all the heavy stuff. Usually, most everything was set up at the end of the day. That did get more difficult by the time we had three kids in tow.
That's usually how it goes for me. The last time we moved (which is in our current house), we had a pizza/painting party. So before the guests showed up my wife looked at me and said "Well, I'm surprised the stereo isnt here yet. What are you waiting for?" It's good to have someone who either enjoys your hobby with your or understands the importance to you.

That room will need some serious attention.
Reminds me of about 25 years ago. I broke up with my girlfriend and moved into a new house. It had a large 26 X 16 room with suspended hardwood floors. All I had was a loveseat and my equipment and rack. Looked very similar to your room. The first time I fired the system up I cringed at the sound. I knew I had work to do.
If I was in that situation not having anyone telling me i can't, I would definitely add sound panels where they are needed right way.

Nice seeing the speakers were the first thing in the house.

Agree with your assessment.
I would not purchase a McIntosh product today. McIntosh's best days are behind them.
So wouldn't a more fairer comparison be to compare to a restored vintage MC275?

Just messaged him. He had set them up so he could demo them if someone was interested, but after listening for a while he decided he wanted to keep them...LOL
Love it.
