. Actually I didn't buy these for myself. Lee W came to my house a couple of weeks ago and bought a pair of Forte ll WO. He saw all of my Khorns and said if I ever decided to let a pair go to let him know. When I saw these Thursday morning in the alert section I decided to grab them for him so I contacted the seller and bought them 6 hours later. He had 3 people try to buy them out from under me showing him pics of cash or willing to buy them sight unseen using paypal. Thank god he was one of those people who gave the first responder first crack at them. They have a scuff or two on them which will come off very easy. The owner had them for 35 years and did not oil them regularly so after I remove the scuffs I will oil them and they will look brand new.

Actually $2K is a great price these days around here. I got lucky and was first responder on these and bought them today.

I prefer the 4 ohm tap as it takes the shrill away from the highs .

Why do you have to remove the backs to check the tweeters ?

You can have both in the same room. My H/T consist of 4 Khorns and an Academy center with all Denon equipment and sounds fantastic ! When I want to listen to 2 channel I just push a button and switch to the 2 front mains only and turn on my all tube system and listen to fantastic 2 channel.

Don't feel bad soldering is beyond my limitations. It a hack job every time I try it !

I have done this on 4 pair and used non stick blue 3M painters tape with no problems. I guess you just have to know your limatations.

You were suppose to put a piece of tape on the grill and tailboard then mark the center of the supports. Then put your back on and shim it up to the top. Then put matching tape on the backs, transfer the center line onto the back, mark where you want the screw holes and predrill them no tape measure needed. Ends up perfect every time. I used small headed furniture screws.
