  1. IMHO The best killer Klipsch system for the money is: Klipsch Kg4's- $250 , Adcom 535 (Nelson Pass dual mono)-$150, Indeed G3(12 au7 triode) preamp- $119. This is not the system I use but this combo will smoke anything in this price range.
  2. Thanks to all. It is a odd size. I ordered a used driver for $30 shipped. They sound wonderful with my adcom 535 and a 12 au7 preamp. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I sure hope someone on the forum knows of a suitable surround for the 8" drivers in Kg 4's
  4. I am using this receiver with Forte IIs. Great combo. Sound is excellent but I notice a audible buzz coming from the transformer area. I have not heard this with a 730 that I own. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Need some help. I have Kg 4's and I love them. I have an opportunity to get a pair of Heresy's that are in excellent condition for a real good price. How do they compare? Thanks
  6. May have got a little excited. Extremely good. Best I have ever had and I have had a lot.
  7. I agree. There is no doubt in my case the kg4's were elevated to world class status with valves.
  8. Hafler DH-500(no slouch), Adcom 545, and the amp section of a Pioneer SX-950. The Heathkit AA-151 made these speakers sing. Low end is phenominal, high is open and transparent. The Dynacos are on the way out. 14 watts of el-84 power make these speakers sound GREAT.
  9. I recently aquired a pair of Kg4's from a local Craigslist listing for $120. I thought if I did not like them , I could resell them easily for what I had in them. I did not expect them to replace my Dynacos. Hooked them up to some real good SS amps(225/channel and 100/channel) and was not impressed. Real honkers. Ebay here we come. I knew they were very efficient so I decided to try them with a valve amp(14/channel). WOW! I could not believe the difference. The Kg4 is a great tube amp speaker. Makes me wonder about the Forte's and Chorus. Is there that big a difference?
  10. I have the Heathkit AA-151 paired with Kg4's and its magical. The AA-151 is an integrated amp. Probably the same preamp as the 141.
