Dave..... Some of the vintage amps including the MC30s are truly wonderful.... but as others have stated they are "collectors items" and valued as such..... I rebuilt and then later sold a MC275, and now have a very rare Sansui AU-111, worth $2500=$3000.... does/did they sound wonderful? you bet, but they were/are in my second system for giggles..... IMO any of these can't hold a candle to a well built modern design for much less $$$$ Luckily I can afford just about any gear I want but for my main system I stuck with a Rogue Atlas Magnum with KT120 outputs.... I won't gush but at <$1800 OMG!!! I tested amps 3-4 times the price and the atlas really hit the nail on the head!!! they also have a integrated based on the same amp thats about $2200 with the magnum upgrades. I'll give you details if you wish.... Cayin has some integrated amps that really kick butt in the $1600-$2000 range and even though assembled in China, have some of the best build quaility I've ever seen, I choose the Rogue for many reasons, one being 100% made in the USA .... NOS valves VRD's are also exceptional If it were me, I would get a great modern tube amp that will give you NO problems, have that magic midrange and nice tight bass slam, all in one..... bi-amping, while great can be a big pain to balance just right, and even a fully rebuilt vintage amp is still 50 years old or so years old and bound to plague you with problems down the line.

Makes my heartache... All my dogs love crates, the only time they were ever closed was until about 5-6 months old, and then only at night or while everyone was out of the house... never for more than a couple of hours and really only for there protection, as not to get into anything that could harm them while unattended.... Now they all go in unsolicited to nap or sleep for the night.... it is there little bedroom... they have the run of the house and still choose to go into there crate to sleep.... I understand when you have thirty odd dogs they need to be contained but they should at least have a big run to romp and play in most of the day... kills me to see such wonderful loving dogs confined to a space barely big enough to turn around in!!!! I'm glad we added Spencer to our family, could have gotten a new pup, but there always be plenty of those... only one spencer and he deserves love and affection and the run of the entire house and yard in his remaining years!!!!

Well as you can all tell from my avatar I'm a bulldog person.... short version..... We had to put down one of my females a few months ago at only 5.... tragic.... well the other day I was at the breeders home of my "Nola" and who's sitting in a crate? Nola's Sire and the resemblance was uncany.... Anyway the breeder ask's " do you want him??? he's just rotting in that crate and no one wants an old bulldog" He's got a ton of medical problems but who cares, he's sweet as sugar, so we brought him home yesterday .... normal jockeying for alpha position with my other dogs but my others chilled soon, but our new dog "Spencer" won't calm down... all day panting, pacing... all afternoon...all early evening.... not good for Bulldogs to get so stressed... play with him, massage him, but Spencer is confused as he spent the last 8 years in a crate in my breeders home...... I don't want to resort to dugs so i say to myself " fenderbender.... what relaxes you after a stressful day.... Jazz trio... Bill Evans!!! On goes "Everyone Digs Bill Evans" Spencer sits down by my side and 30 seconds into Peace Piece, he flopps over and starts snorring!!! two hours later I let him out then off to his crate for the night and he sleeps all night!!! This afternoon more of the same anxiety.... about two minutes into tenderly...flopps over and is still snorrrrrring away!!!! Can't be a coincidence!!! the real explanation probably is that Bill Evans relaxes me, so Spencer senses me calming down and he relaxes and goes to sleep...... Either way, my new bull dog digs bill evans

I was able to get one of the last pairs of the original "animas" before Immedia bought them out.... these were handmade/assembled in germany... (new versions arn't up to snuff) My dealer has them in his home and ordered two pairs, one for him as a back up he loves them so much and he has $100,000 speakers at his disposal! I was lucky enough to test almost their whole line up and the animas really are the best of the bunch.... they don't dig real deep but what they have is TIGHT and snappy not thumpy....and aren't really for Hard rock with poor studio eng. but I'm long past that phase.... They really shine with acoustic rock/folk/jazz/vocals.... I think the reviewers called them "magical" and magical they are.....

LOL thanks SF! actually, my friend "Neelesteele" was there and filmed it on his phone.... just waiting for him to post footage!... although I don't think he caught me going ballistic at the end of the evening......shame, that was the best part!

Kinda basic: Bruschetta with tart plum tapenade, shrimp... Panzanella with good feta, Prime dry aged Ribeye steaks about 2 1/2 inches thick, Cremini mushrooms, asparagus, roasted asst potatoes.... Eponymous 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Almond Torta, italian roast coffee, A good asst of cognacs, single malts, and grapa All in all a real nice meal........ she'll be sorry when she's not invited back!!! This was a $300 +++ per head meal at a good steakhouse

Thats Right Everyone.... last night I tossed a beautiful sexy woman out of my house during a small dinner party!!!!!\ Evening started out nice.... three couples, good food, good wine, nice music...... after eating the main course, I switched to vinyl and my wifes friend asked for something "to dance to".... so out came the earth wind and fire.... grand master flash, stevie wonder..... You all know how hard we work, scrimp and save, dream, save some more, an finally get that new piece of coveted gear. Mine was a pair of "Sonics by Joachim Gerhard" that are now in my main system..... Now with full glass of wine in hand.... said "friend" starts to seductively shake her money maker and bee line for my speakers and dance around them!!! I asked her to "please be careful". My wife pulls her away and they start to dance about ten feet away..... she starts back over to them and I again warn them and they turn into spoiled women and then start to "pole dance" near and around the speakers..... OK it was a bit funny, and we had a good laugh at my expense ......... evening goes on.... lots more drinking.... and "she" keeps taunting me by coming very close, OK hiking up her mini skirt and rubbing her butt and ample busom around my speakers like a stripper...... I go into full on bouncer mode and tell her that my system cost more than her car and be prepared to write a check if she F&^K's them up.........Fun time was over!!! So now she full on drunk and getting worse.... I had to park myself near the speakers and physically move her away... I'm only putting up with her because she has brought her new boyfriend over for the first time....... Eat desert, cognac, soft jazz........ Then the request for more dance music..... Ok but stay in the dining room!!! Stay away from my system or I'm turning it off and calling it a night!!!! she agrees....... then like a baby....goes right for them and starts to dance................. I shut down my system immediately, and asked her what her problem was....... she's all like " i'm not going to hurt your precious speakers, chill out, were having fun" well I wasn't having fun!!!! we started to exchange words that ended with me telling her to "GET THE F...K OUT OF MY HOUSE YOU DRUNK BIT(H !!!!!!!!!" Now I was having fun!!! Not really.... I'm very upset at what transpired.... What he heck is wrong with some people!!! I've known this woman for 10 years!!! We have supported her through hard times, and laughed during the good two rules in my house..... Don't mess with my dogs ( there my babies) and don't mess with my gear!!! After that, I dont care if you burn the place down!!! Rant Over........

Michael.... I've owned many a table..... The 125 is no slouch and should be quite....big bUTTTT .... to get one (or any good vintage TT) to play with the big boys, you need to spend mega bucks modernizing it... Dave at Vinyl nirvana does a great job ...... A typical maxed out 124 build all in costs about $3500.... I eventually want one and thats what I've researched and budgeted. a maxed out 125 goes about $2k. lots of steps in between Now, at the risk of making enemies i will speak my mind. I want one for an all vintage system for nostalgia sake.... but I have no illusions that a $3500 TD 124 can come anywhere close to the modern system I have now.... I've run side by side tests ..... My opinion that being said.... box up the TD 125 and all your vinyl, send it to me, and stick with digital formats, both of us will sleep better! [] [] [] [] [] Seriously, you need to send it off to a really good tech who knows what they are doing and give you stages/options of upgrades... it's a forty + year old design , lots of things you can do to improve once it's "stable" .... good luck

Hey Lonelobo.... I would suggest the REGA RB250... about $225 and really a very fine arm with a lot of adjustments ( I just put one on my Townshend Rock 7 table ($4k) and see no need to upgrade.... I auditioned 5 different arms and due to the "trough and suspention of the rock 7, a more expensive arm did nothing.... now thats not apples to apples with the P5.... but the RB250 is a great way to start and put your money into a good cart...

I know I'm getting old because that is just plain sexy!!!!!!
