This is a matched pair of 1962 Electro-Voice Patrician 700s in PERFECT condition. The woodwork is unbelievable, all the drivers are stock and sound wonderful, the grills are untouched, and the sound is beyond belief. These speakers were installed in a mansion in St. Clair Shores Michigan from the time they were bought. The butler applied Liquid Gold once a year and the woodwork shows it. The tweeter is the chrome plated T-350 and reproduced beautiful, clear highs up to 22 KHz. The midrange horn is the most modern 8HD driven by the VERY RARE T-250 and makes you think the singer is right in front of you. The midbass is the venerable SP-12 and will thump your chest. And the grand daddy of the all is the W-30 subwoofer. It is 30 inches across and reproduces the most accurate music and sound effects down to 15 Hz…..15 Hz, you can’t find that today in any system with as much clarity and detail as these. In one of the pictures below, you can see a standard size pill bottle next to the drive just to give you an idea of how big they are. The only thing I’ve done to these speakers is to clean the L-pads. As you can see in the pictures, the crossovers are magnificent. Big air core inductors, oil caps, heavy construction, and very accessible. The crossovers are designed to bi-amp, Tri-amp, or Quad-amp each speaker. I run the tweets, mid, and midbass with a 300B tube amp and the W-30 woofer with a SS amp. The sound this whole system reproduces is absolutely seamless and comes at you like a brick wall or a feather in the wind…..depending on the music played. If you have not heard these speakers before, they will strike you with awe and rapture. I know that sounds funny, but everyone that has auditioned them is emotionally moved. The sound staging is wide, deep, and truly realistic. The clarity is incredible….you can hear pages being turned by the orchestra. You are more than welcome to audition them before bidding. These speakers are a matched pair, not one taken out of the gym and one from a church or any other mix and match set. They were ordered by one of the automotive executive vice presidents and only played classical music soft and low. These are BIG speakers. Solid mahogany trim and mahogany plywood. 54.5’ tall, 33” wide, and 28.5” deep……350lbs EACH. I will ship these if the buyer arranges and pays for crating and shipping. eBay now requires I use PayPal. I think this is a crock but I can't list without using it. eBay must now own PayPal and want the fees. I'd prefer cash or money order but we can work that out later. Happy Bidding. 2. Glen, The main focus is that this was someone of importance to you, and your family....For your loss I am very sorry. 35 years ago, niehgbors like this were the norm, not the exception in this country. Now days everyone peeks out their window and talks about one another..... It is impossible to replace these people in your families lives. Again, sorry this happened to good people. Iwillwalk, What an ignorant comment, both from your own political aggenda, and the unfeeling nature for someone who posted that they were obviously hurting over this. If a dog or a wild animal had killed these people, we as a society would put the animal down in a heartbeat without question. Man has the abillity of forthought, so is even more guilty of the consequences of his actions, but there are those who would rehabilitate the man and blame the weapon. I see mentally disturbed patients in the clinical setting on a routine basis. They have disfunctional minds that cannot be fixed, only treated. It is their individual problem, yet the rest of us pay the price in both monies for treatment and dealing with them in public sittuations when they have an episode. When they step across the line and commit homicide they should be put down just as an animal, as they are aware of their actions. This is evidenced by the lack of similar occurances in countries where they would not have a "fair trial". Roger
  3. Your RC-62 is rated at 98dB sensitivity, and should be a good match for your RF-35s that have the same sensitivity. I go to www.AudioReview.com to check reviews from owners on Audio often. The I was interested in a pair of RF-5s a while back as a match for the system I put together for my parents, but at 99 dB sensitivity, you aren't gaining a whole lot to upgrade to the RF-5s, and the reviews are mediocre for Klipsch products at best. The RF-7s have much better ranking amoungst owner than the 5s, but at 102 dB sensitivity, they are alot louder than your other speakers and you would have to dial them back for propper surround sound, but they would be a much better choice for when you wanted to listen in 2 channel to music. To give you a better understanding, it takes twice as much power to increase a speakers output by 3 dB, so it would take more than twice as much power for your RF-35s to sound as loud as the RF-7s. Since your speakers put out 98 dB at 1 watt, they would put out 101 dB at 2 watts and 104 dB at 4 watts, and 107 dB at 8 watts. In essence, if your speaker had not already reached their peak output well before your systems wattage ran out, your RF-35s would not make as much sound at 200 watts per channel as the RF-7s will at less than 100 watts per channel. At 2 watts your speakers make less sound than the 7s do at 1 watt. For a further comparison, your RF-35s take 4 watts to make the same volume my corner horns do at 1 watt. It is your descission, your money, if you like to crank it in stereo, I say pass up the 5s and opt for the 7s. If you listen to more surround sound/movies, and you want a better sounding speaker, more then just a louder speaker, if that is more important to you then your speakers matching cosmetically, I would advise you to go Heritage and buy a set of Forte IIs. The Forte IIs are rated at 99 dB sensitivity, so the same as the RF-5s, or a little more than your RF-35s, BUT, the Forte and Forte IIs are the highest rated speaker that Klipsch has made for home use in its any of all of their line-ups, including surpassing K-Horns, LaScalas, Belles, CornWalls, and Heresys. If the sound is more important than the volume, I suggest going for a set of these, but you will need corner placement to optimise you Bass, an a little room to pull them out from the corners for the passive radiators to optimise their Bass output. Hope this gives you some food for thought before spending your money. Let us know how it all works out for you...Roger
  4. Good Luck. I used a set in a bedroom settup in my kids room. I notice the speaker wire more than the bases, but I didn't have any odd mounting surfaces to deal with. Again, good luck to you....Roger
  5. Why can't you just flip the stad arround backwards and mount to the wall?? Roger
  6. I can't believe that nobody hear on a Klipsch Forum, directed this guy to PWKs paper on the Golden Mean Cube in the Dope from Hope... I believe it is 16' by 20' with 10 foot ceiling or near there off of the top of my head. That is for a two channel system. My brother-in-law built this at one and a half scale Aprox for three speakers across the front with a room of 24' by 32'. I wired it all for him and we built a false wall across the front that can be accessed behind the big screen as it is mounted flush to the wall and can be pulled forward. His two subs and all of his equipement are either flush mounted or slightly recessed. I wired this behind space with lighting, plenty of recepticles for equipement, with sepperate 30 amp circuits for subs and amps. It is extremely nice to be able to get behind the equipement for any inter connect changes you may wish to make from time to time, with plenty of room to mount cables neatly to avoid RF interfierence from other sources. It amazes me to no end to see mega bucks spent on equipement with crap in considderation for accoustics. Roger
  7. Budman, What brand and model of amp are you looking at. If you need knowledge on the transformer, there may be better alterntives in this price range and power output that many could steer you to here. There are many amplifiers that don't sound well with Klipsch speakers, and others that will open your eyes and make you say WOW. So how about some info on the particular amp you are looking at, and what are the speakers that you want to drive?? Roger
