  1. Thank you so much. I had a pair of Klipsch THX subs for about 10 years and thought those were insane. These Orbit Shifters are next level.
  2. Anybody looking to piss off their neighbors? $6,500 for the pair, located in Wisconsin, 53560. Pickup only, no trades. I bought this pair of Orbit Shifters from the original owner in January. They're the most insane subwoofers I've ever owned and are pure overkill for my system. For those unfamiliar, please search the forum here, or plug them into the Google machine for reviews, etc. Thanks. Jeff
  3. I still use an Oppo as my CD player...best sounding unit I've had over the years. I'm not surprised their gear fetches money like this.
  4. I'm glad you were able to get one! Gosh, I remember when Oppo was closing their players out...these units were dirt cheap.
  5. Hi guys, My friends over at The Sell It Now Store are currently hosting a fantastic auction full of high-end vintage audio gear. The auction ends Sunday, May 15th: https://www.proxibid.com/The-Sell-It-Now-Store/McIntosh-Marantz-More-Stereo-HiFi-Gear-Auction/event-catalog/219846?fbclid=IwAR2KwLBpAXjhAdkah2TTGlE8EnODNzrKrk_RsPCyYNMxEstQbGYos2S9Eik The auction is based out of Waukesha, WI and pickup is definitely available. For folks needing to ship, Mike and his team have over 30 years experience shipping vintage gear around the world. This might be a fantastic opportunity for folks looking to build a system, or swap out existing gear, or play with some projects. Please direct questions to the phone number listed on the home page of the auction link. Thanks and good luck if you bid! Jeff
  6. Different animal, right? I will NEVER forget the first time I heard La Scala II's at Flanner's in the Milwaukee area. I turned to the salesperson and say "Well, Klipsch finally got these speakers right. Holy S@*t!" I've owned 4 or 5 pairs of La Scalas with various network configurations and only ever thought they sounded even remotely like any of my Klipschorns was with a pair of subs. Again, though, La Scala II's and newer? ...that's a lot of speaker without requiring corners. With a completely different crossover setup than your '76s, I too, suspect I'd like your La Scala II's better, too. Great input, Shakey, thanks for sharing this. Jeff
  7. SOLD. I have no idea if that Randy guy was dissing my price in earlier replies (have no clue what started the argument), but these cabinets actually sold pretty quickly...like all my speakers and parts do. Jeff
  8. Thank you, Travis, I greatly appreciate you saying this. Have a terrific day. Jeff
  9. I may have missed something along the way, but I've been a forum member for 22 years or so. For the first 10-12 years, I did a fair amount of horse trading with members. Since then, I've found that nearly every one of my posts ends up with weirdos bashing my prices. For members wondering why I sell almost exclusively on eBay, THIS is why. This weekend, I sold a pair of original AA networks for $475 and a pair of LaScala grills for $369. Had I listed them here, I would've been bashed relentlessly, it happens every time. Why do I still post things for sale, then? Because I still buy speakers and gear here, and feel like it's the right thing to offer items to forum members. Years ago, these hecklers would've been chastised and removed by Amy, but I think that philosophy has changed? My thought has always been BUY or DON'T BUY, and there's no need for endless public discussion. If you aren't equipped to make buying decisions on speakers and gear, maybe you've chosen the wrong hobby. Jeff
  10. My understanding is you may find something close, but the original style cane material is no longer produced.
  11. I'm the owner of these, and I agree, no need to delete since these are for sale on eBay. These La Scalas have indeed been parted, so I'll mark my garage sale listing accordingly. If the OP has interest in the cabinets at $600, let me know. I can strap the cabinets as-is to a pallet if shipping is arranged by the buyer. I have no way to get them to a loading dock, so they'll have to be picked up by your carrier at my shop here in Wisconsin. The cabinets can be picked up, of course, too. Jeff
  12. No takers on the cabinets here. After the Holidays, I'll list the empty cabinets and drivers on eBay.
  13. I have a pair of empty '81 La Scala project cabinets for sale in Mazomanie, WI 53560. Serial numbers are 25U416 and 417. They have significant veneer damage, but would be excellent candidates for a project. No shipping on these unless arranged by the buyer. $600 for the cabinets. Jeff
  14. Thank you, Randy. I'm sorry, I thought YOU had a pair of Klipschorns for sale. I will keep an eye out, but I don't expect you to watch for speakers for me...thank you for your kindness. Jeff
  15. Hi Randy, if Doc passes, I may have interest in the Klipschorns. I've been back looking for another pair in Wisconsin. PM me with details, please. Thanks. Jeff
  16. Hi Lyle! Gosh, it looks like someone got a nice pair of La Scalas! Sorry for the delay, I've been out of town the last several days. Thank you for thinking of me.
  17. I'd like to add a 2nd pair of speakers to my shop, as my Heresys could use some partners to fill the space. If anyone in the WI, IL, IA, or MN area has a pair of Cornwalls they'd part with, let me know. These are for my shop, so the cabinets don't have to be pristine. Jeff
  18. I just want to say that I love this thread. This is the kind of discussion that filled this forum back in the day. I'm really curious to hear from other folks who use the 4 ohm taps on their Mac solid state gear. Jeff
