  1. Maybe cover that top horn with a matching removable grille to match the lower section, I believe that would really finish off the looks.
  2. I had a little propane soldering kit I used for years, just ran across it looking for something else. Sometimes electricity is not available and it's needed for sensitive work. It's Butane, my apologies. Haven't used it in years.😀
  3. KG 4 makes for a good garage speaker or working holds their value.
  4. Looking up what Klipsch might use in their new products, in house brand Audiovox along with partner RCA brand wants people to think Copper clad Aluminum is acceptable. At least there's lots it on the market. Anybody care to have a look at at a newer model and see what is currently used.
  5. RadioShack is gone, people had to shop elsewhere.
  6. Must be hard to part with, very nice. Big room or outdoor these sound fantastic, hope you don't regret your sale.
  7. Normally it's a crack in the basket from shipping, it is unusual to find a overdriven driver.
  8. High amperage alternators at one time were hard to find and expensive, junkyard ambulance was a good cheap source. And yes, that's going to void your warranty.
  9. ProMedia 2.1 sounds pretty good. Just slap a monitor sticker on back.
  10. Why does my alternator keep failing ?
  11. Still good people out there. Some scout out bad ratings and will look even better for the seller.
  12. Sellers no return policy says it all. Good luck.
  13. I have never screwed anybody intentionally here or elsewhere but if a problem arose somehow in a sale you bet I would go out of my way to help just as always.
  14. Honesty is the best policy and you did nothing wrong. If anything it gives the seller incentive to do the right thing and return your money.
  15. Could use the hatchback as a horn instead of that silly thing.
  16. I tried digital, needed repair and ended up throwing it away as no parts were available but I will get stuff done eventually.
  17. Can't help you there. I suggest the tube or solid state links. The preamp has to wait. Crap keeps breaking and now the roof is messed up.
  18. Those bass bins were horn loaded to 250hz or thereabouts, likely the 811 horn. These would have been a nice score.
  19. One 12" direct radiating sub of any type is insufficient under 2 horn loaded 15's. Sorry but it is. Double it up or better yet something horn loaded to better match the mains.
  20. Lost a few dozen shingles off the roof yesterday and the power line came down right in front of the house, I'm one of the lucky ones judging by the pictures above and morning news.
  21. Dad brought me shopping to look at a set of 901 after the dog piss rotted the grille of his Altec Valencia's and mom wanted them out of the living room. Not impressed with the sound walked out. Mom brought me out to get something less ugly and picked out the Belle's but since dad liked the sound of my Chorus II ended up getting those. If a pair of Belle's were on the floor or in stock the choice may have been different. Never understood the draw to Bose products.
  22. They were reliable, maybe you guys got stuck with the Monday after New year's build date. While not perfect odds are you will get 200,000 miles plus out of these. Lightweight turbocharged engines will be more succeptable to breakage and more costly to own over the long run.
  23. Very unusual. Most just rot away.
