  1. Go out and audition as many models as possible, what sounds good to one person may not be right for another.
  2. Much would depend on your application and room size. If you plan on using these for pro sound usage the minimum i would recommend would be a pair of 15" or a good 18" professional subwoofer. For home audio much would depend on room size and if they would be used for music only or home theater application.
  3. I rode dirt bikes myself growing up, i feel there is no better training for the road and bigger bikes than riding on uneven surfaces, jumping dirt hills and general all out fun riding through the dirt, grass & mud.
  4. Mixing different subwoofers is a bad idea.
  5. 2 expensive high X-max 18"s would probably give the THT a run for its money, THT max output is around 127dB. The THT will offer less distortion and cleaner bass notes. Depending on cabinet tuning and driver choice the 18"s could dig deeper. The THT is tuned to 22 Hz, corner loaded should get you to about the same frequency in a large room.
  6. Check out Triumph bikes while you're looking around, they have some nice offerings. The best bike i drove recently was the Honda F6B, a slightly stripped down Gold Wing with tons of power & still plenty of included goodies for road trips if the mood pops up.
  7. i'll bet you have your share of stories…don't you have any moonshiners in your neck of the woods? Moonshiners, I would think so but if I knew one I would want a taste, never tried the real thing. Probably listed under dumbest things I have done was walking around Washington DC with a friend while on a company trip. It was late at night and no one was on the streets, after way to many drinks we stopped and sat on some steps for a while and lit up a joint. Walked a little more going into some clubs then back to the hotel. The next day we get on a tour bus hired by the company to sightsee, our first stop was the FBI building for a tour, we just looked at each other it was the same steps we were on the night before. If you see this building it's real easy to point out because of it's design. I would guess they have cameras and had watched us, they were probably thinking just leave them alone there to stupid to worry about ? It was a really nice tour, that was a rough week. A friend with weed is a friend indeed.

I agree with Willand here. You may still need a second sub to tame room nodes otherwise one should take care of business.

    Moving on

Hope your new direction in the workplace is a turn for the better. Best wishes. Jason
  10. Will this work for in-wall use? It doesn't seem to have the right jacket. I see they have a different cable for in wall use. No harm running this stuff in the walls, not like your going to run 220 or 221 through it. Bad move. If you run non CL2 "in wall" rated wire inside the walls and have a fire, be prepared for a battle with your insurance company for coverage. It doesn't matter if that wire caused the fire or not. Well I assumed that the homeowner would run a rated conduit/flex as I have always done, not only for insurance, but the fact you can run any kind of wire you wish inside conduit/flex, the other reason iv always ran flex aluminum was to insure I could repull add and subtract wires as needed in the future. Lic C-10 electrical some years back. Standard speaker wire is not made to run through conduit, it will catch & strip off the jacket causing a short. Use the right wire for application and save yourself a headache. 20+ years of pulling wire (every type there is) iv never cut into a conductor, not once, guess that's the difference between a professional Electrical C-10 Lic holder and the rest of the public at large. You will find ALL theaters run conduit, ALL of Them. That's wonderful, i have 25+ years experience myself. With all your experience you have to admit that it would be much easier to catch & strip a soft jacketed speaker wire than it would be to strip a wire made to be pulled through a stretch of conduit. Aluminum wire is outlawed around here because connections can be a major a fire hazard.

Absolutely correct, run only in wall rated wire when running wires within your walls.
  13. I go for a little Ozzy, Judas Priest or Offspring myself.
  14. Trikes don't turn well, add a big V-8 and you're looking for trouble.
  15. Happy fathers day. My son is out of state camping and my daughter stayed over at a friends house, looks like a quiet day for me.
  16. Another spectacular looking project, well done Maynard.
  17. The Crown XLS series have a built in adjustable crossover and would be a good choice for powering your bass bins.
  18. Very nice, where did you get the frame ? Michaels 18x24 on sale for $25 wife said they have different colors I laid mine face down on top of my RSW-15 with weights on it to flatten it out for about a week. Thank you. i will check out Michaels.
  19. That sub was dropped at some point. Not worth repairing, get a new/used driver for it. JB weld may work for a little while but its not going to hold together long.
  20. Call Klipsch parts for a recone kit or new driver or check ebay.
  21. If the voice coil is bad, yes.
  22. Hey, those aren't Klipsch.
  23. Sounds like a bad driver.
