  3. get a tablet pc. it's a great laptop, plus you won't need to take paper and pen notes. Don't expect to be able to type notes in class. a) can't write diagrams or anything, and many profs won't allow it (the noise). however, with a tablet pc, you can write and then convert it to text if you want. However, the coolest thing about the tablets is that you can write notes on it, and record the lecture at the same time. then, when you go back and play the audio back, it'll scroll through your notes where the audio and written notes line up. THAT would've helped me soooo often. to be able to go back and here what exactly the prof was talking about while knowing exactly what i was writing at the time.
  4. i just got the rio cali 256MB a week ago. works great, and is tiny. i love the thing

I love the movie, and the avatar is too funny not to use.
  6. Not a clue, but I just purchased a pair of KLF-30's in Oak from my local Klipsch dealer. Anybody know where I can find a KLF-C7? Thanks

The damn things been on backorder FROM MARANTZ for over 3 weeks. I love the thing, it does everything i want it to. It has many of the features of recievers twice it's price. I'm really liking the remote (but may go with a pronto instead) and the fact that it's software upgradable at such a low price is very nice. If you want drop me a line (my profile) and we can talk about my new baby.
  8. Use cleaner5, and then compress it with divx5.

They had the Signature 800's which I was told they sold for $20,000. They were being powered by (2) $4,000 Classe amps. They were awesome! But not for the money! what store did you goto and listen to those in fort wayne? i've always found the selection here so pitiful. whenever i make a purchase, i head down to indy.
  10. Yet another person that doesn't know what they have... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=873082392 unfortunately for me they are too far away...
  11. m00n- yes, i've heard the same type of thing. in fact when i was shopping in early march, i had a lengthy discussion with the salesman. pretty much, the way it's looking is SOMEWHERE down the line (who knows when) the HDTV standard is going to change. However, since most tv's are simply HDTV ready, you need a separate decoder to watch it. When the standard changes you'll simply have to get a different decoder (one with the copy protection chip). However, i'm sure there'll be people out there that continue to use the old ones, and merely come up with a hacked version that allows you to watch the new HDTV signals. It was on /. awhile back about the gov't being involved and whatnot too.

If you want that "theater" taste, but without the stale popcorn you get at the theater, simply pop your corn in coconut oil on the stove. That's what gives it that "theater" taste that you never get from popcorn made at home.
