  1. Would someone please post the crossover design? Thanks, Tony
  2. That's a good idea. Will it make any difference that PWK used a K43, K55V & a K600 and I'm using a K33, K55M & a K500? Thanks, Tony
  3. D-Man I'm really glad to see you say that. I was hoping that I got it right. Tony
  4. 3x13 on the throat. I haven't run any simulations on anything. I'm just "trusting" that it will sound ok. BTW, I'm going with the K500 mid horn instead of the K600. The only real "unknown" is the crossover. I have a custom built pair just for this project. I can modify them as needed. Tony
  5. I'm going to try my best to gain some ground on this project in the next few days. Maybe I'll have pics showing some progress. Tony
  6. A homemade pair of squat (runt) LaScalas just might be my next project after the LB's. I have all the measurements somewhere. Tony
  7. It would probably be a lot easier from the top, but I want to at least keep it close to the original. Here's the first pic.
  8. A K600 horn is what was used in the LB76 in the museum at Hope. I remember a former engineer at Klipsch saying that they started with one horn and worked their way to a larger horn... I guess the K500? Also, there aren't any "wings" on the one at Hope. Tony
  9. I don't know how long this link will remain, but here's a link to an article about Klipsch in Arkansas Business. http://www.arkansasbusiness.com/article.aspx?aID=95093.33040.107217&view=all Tony
  10. It is sort of a headache to build. Before I started I thought it would be about like a LaScala. The LaScala seems so easy to build. The LB just seems like it has some weird building quirks. I'm almost done with my LB's. Mine are exactly like the factory model except I made mine slightly taller so I could put the tweeter above the mid horn. Pictures to follow. Tony
  11. These are the nicest LaScalas I've seen in a long time. If I didn't already have 3 pair of "industrial" and 2 pair of "home" LaScalas, I'd have these! Tony
  12. I can't believe these beauties haven't been snagged by someone. They're definitely a "designer" pair. Tony
  13. I own Chorus II's and have listened to RF's a lot. In fact, sometime ago, I could have gotten RF-7's for a song, but I turned it down. I just like the overall sound of the Chorus II's better. I guess it's closer to that "Heritage" sound. Tony
  14. I had a (small) speaking part in an ABC TV miniseries about the Civil War back in 1985-1986. Tony
  15. Was this the pilgrimage to Hope where forum members were actually in Paul's house? I didn't think that was an official Klipsch event so I didn't list it. That was the gathering that started it all. Klipsch paid for a photographer, had public relations there and bought us food... I'd say it was official. Tony
  16. Good looking site. One correction... the first Kipsch pilgrimage was in Feb., 2001. Keep up the good work, Tony
  17. Dr Who Do you have the math/dimensions to build the wood horn? Tony
  18. What's the difficulty Tony? I'm a stickler for precision. It's just a little difficult getting everything to measure out perfectly. With the other Heritage speakers, I could always go back and study the construction. With the LB, I don't have that luxury. I took measurements in Hope, but I wish I had one to "study" for an extended period of time. Tony
  19. Now I know why this speaker is called what it's called. It's quite contrary to build. I've been working on a (pretty) "home" pair for the last 4 weeks. Tony
  20. Along with the rubber throat, I'd really like to hear more about that pretty wooden horn. I'm going to try my hand at building a pair, if I can get the right "formula". Tony
  21. The pictures don't do justice to these beauties... AT ALL! Tony
  22. Bob, Thanks for the info. I think I'll order a pair to play around with. Tony
