  1. Why do the new Reference series weigh less than the older ones? The RC-64 is like 11lbs lighter, why?
  2. Unbelievable!!! Great score, pretty much unheard of these days.[Y]
  3. Better yet, there's an 805 on ebay for 650.00 or best offer. It has a beefier supply than the newer series.
  4. I agree with you 100% it's okay for the time being, but I need to get the RC-7. I feel like it will sound so much better.
  5. They need to bring it back, I dont think the 64 is a "perfect" match.
  6. Yeah, I'm good with the Blu-ray players, but I've got a ton of HD DVD's that I'd like to play. It looks like the HD-XA2 is the way to go.
  7. Load times don't bother me, I just want a glitch free unit that will play all my discs without problems. Let me add that 1080p playback is preferred, but not a must.
  8. I have a bunch of HD movies and two mediocre players(Xbox360&Toshiba HD A3). What player is the best performer, price doesn't matter.
  9. Good point, I hooked it up to assure it worked. I scheduled an appointment with my "amp" guy for this week. He's going to fully test and clean the unit and take care of any bugs that pop up. I can tell you that the volume pot is going to need to be cleaned/replaced as it is a little scratchy. I am a tech for a living, but I work mostly with industrial equiptment, servo/stepper drives, plc's, etc. I just don't have the time anymore to do all the repairs myself. The family takes priority nowadays.[]
  10. Thanks for all the kind words fellas, it's been a pretty long journey trying to find a nice vintage unit for a price like this.
  11. That's great to hear, I've been looking at it for quite a bit and now I'm ready to pull the trigger.
  12. I'm looking at the MusicHall MMF 2.2, my old Technics rig is very outdated and it's time for an upgrade.
  13. Well, I've been looking for a nice vintage receiver for a long time and yesterday I stumbled on this beast for 40 bucks on Craigslist. I hooked it up to my KG 4.2's and it sounds outstanding. I've got a lead on a pair Fortes and a new turntable.
  14. I'd really like to know how it compares to the Emotiva. I've never owned any Emo gear, but their customer base seems to believe their amps are comparable to 2k and up amps like the Parasound.
  15. First off welcome to the forum. There's plenty of good guys on here to give you advice. Anyways I have RB-51's in my daughters room and they sound great. I was very surprised at the sound they put out for being such a small speaker. I have not heard the XB-10's so I can't comment on them. Either way both speakers are capable of sounding great, so good luck in your decision!
  16. Everything is looking awesome, now how about the amp review!!![]
  17. You beat me to it! http://www.auralex.com/sound_isolation_subdude/subdude.asp
  18. You could always get a riser for your sub. Check out the Auralex sub risers, I have the great gramma and it works nicely.
  19. Are the jumpers connected on the rear binding posts?
  20. I agree, another RB-81 would be perfect. If space is an issue the RC-62 would work perfectly.
  21. Those were mine, but they sold. I do have a set of rs-3II's that you might want, PM me if interested.
  22. I love my Sony 550, its got better sound quality than the PS3 and the load times are the same IMO.
