  1. In my eyes the Dodgers staff sucked after inning 6.  Hill was throwing a nasty game.  Wicked curve ball.  Trust me, it's over after game 5.  Boston 4 - LA 1.  Guaranteed.  I'm a Dodgers fan.  Too many weapons in the Sox arsenal.   As I said before, maybe the Dodgers should call Jim Kelly to understand how to cope with back-to-back loses.  Lame.

  2. Game 3 was one of the best games that I've ever seen.  Well, my team, the D's came out on top.  Absolutely awesome!!  7 hours and 20 minutes.  2 games in one.  Wow.  Single HR in the bottom to take it.  Even if they loose the series I will never forget this game.

Both Dak Prescott and DeShaun Watson came on strong as rookies.  Both now are really looking like backup QB's.  It's frustrating if you're a Texan.

Yeah, but I believe Prescott has way more potential than Watson.  Given time and the right coaching he'll find his way, possibly.   Watson is just not it.  Too fragile.  Reminds me of the 'great' RGB III.  Where is he now?  So many pawns in football.  Love to watch how they develop.  Hate when they fail.

It's all about next year.  He's collecting assets and going to build his own team with draft picks.

Yeah, but we know how draft picks can go.  You think he's going to ditch Carr as well?  I hate to say it, but I like this Mahomes kid with KC.  Maybe it's just rookie flare but he seems to command the field pretty well.  If Gruden can find a spark like that, well, OK......

you have plastic cones and a plastic dust caps! all plastics incorporate plasticizers to make them flexible and all plastics will over time sweat some of that out of the solids and that is why adhesives and plastics have such a hard time with each other. your speakers are not new and have sweated out some plasticizer by now. So check the adhesive bond between your dust cap and the cone as that may well be where your noise is coming from.

Good info.  Well, now I know what to watch out for if I develop the same problem.  Or, sport for some RF-7 III's to replace that bad driver....

  6. I'm a Raiders fan.  Starting to feel like I'm a Cleveland fan.  Just keep watching Gruden sell off the assets.  Awful.  My prediction is 2-14 for the season.  What a disaster.....  Don't even get me started on the Vegas move.  May have to quit them after that.

  7. Odd that it is the same driver though.  As I said before, hopefully someone with more experience in crossover diagnosis can help you determine if that's what's causing the failure.  Good luck!

I'm the same way with them.  I'm so accustomed to their sound after 20+ years I don't know that I could ever sell them.

  8. I've owned my 5.5's since new as well.  In fact, listening to them right now.  Haven't ever had driver issues though.  The woofer is the K-1023-K.  Some of the 5.5 cabinets had rear panels that came loose.  Are you sure it's the driver or could it be the cabinet?  A loose cabinet panel can cause buzzing as well.  You can test the driver by removing and it ohm testing it as well as physically, e.g. gently, moving the driver up and down to see if you feel any scratchy or limited movement.

If the physical test and ohm check passes I would check the cabinet.  As to the crossover, maybe.  Others here can help you with that.  Do you push them hard?  I have over the years with no issues.  Just curious.

  9. Hoping for the Dodgers.  Have always been a Dodgers fan.  NLCS was a great series.  They've got their work cut out for them though.  Sox with 108 wins in the regular season and 4 - 1 win in the ALCS.  Can't imagine losing back-to-back WS's.  If it happens they could call Jim Kelly to understand how to cope.

  10. That's exactly how I got my first experience with Jub's, tubes, and a revisit with vinyl.  Went over to DMH's (David) place in CA.  He has a Belle center, KHorns as his surrounds, and an 8' tall sub in the LF corner.  Very cool.  Had dinner, listened to wide variety of tunes, mediums, 2.1, 5.1, etc.  Helps you realize where your system is lacking for sure.  He was a very gracious host, as appears was in this instance.  Really cool that forum members are willing to let people like me in to their homes....

Hopefully, he doesn't mind me sharing a pic that he sent me before I went.

Just 'caught' my 17 year old doing homework while listening to Sly and the Family Stone. Yea, Dad this is better than the crap today. I'm down!

How'd you do that?  If I 'caught' my girls, 15 and 14 listening to anything remotely close to that I'd fall over.  They've succumbed to the 'current' music.  As I did when I was their age.  I promise I've exposed them to Jimi, Stones, Janis, etc. and my other rock tunes.  Somewhere I lost....

  12. While all admirable responses, you're not even close.  Hate to admit, anyone ever seen this movie?  If you're a beer drinker you should, after a few beverages of course.  It's the worst, yet stupidly funny, movie.  Just put your adolescent cap on.  Warning, your IQ will drop significantly after watching it.
