  1. Congratulations Jack on finding your Audio Nirvana! [<)] If the "Caps" are original, you'll want to update them eventually, but for now.....Enjoy the Music!! [8] [8] Dennie

No, these will do fine all by themselves!! Would you benefit from a Sub? Yes! But need.....No! Dennie
  3. Fully agree. Carl has one of the best integrated subs I've ever heard. It's completely transparent and a person not looking up at the drivers up near the cieling might not ever know those brutes were there. That's how I like them for critical listening. I CAN crank the bass on a big pipe organ (and have done so after a few beers ) to where it impressively rattles the windows and makes pictures go crooked. But it isn't accurate nor does it sound like the real thing. Dave ..... Dennie
  4. Congratulations! [<)] Has the "430" been gone through? It may need new capacitors, and that WILL cause lack of bass. Dennie
  5. That was my point. I don't want "mid bass punch" or "sizziling highs" or "rumbling bass." I want fidelity to the source. That's why we call it "high fidelity." JMHO... Not that some wump and thump can't be cool for a movie or party rock, but that's not critical listening. Dave Well, you can "critically" listen to a garbage truck. But if you boost or lower certain freqs., it is no longer ACCURATE!!! Dennie []
  6. Whoa!!! Hold off my friend, I think he's beginning to see the light... Dennie ....
  7. BTW! Your Cat looks a lot smarter than my dog..... He's supposed to walk for exercise, but he mostly just rides.... Dennie []
  8. A BIG..... I've always said: Get the best main speakers you can afford, you won't be sorry! Go with the Heritage line, again, you won't be sorry! BTW, Welcome to the Klipsch Forums Jerome, we're glad you're here. Dennie Thanks Dennie, I have to agree with you, "Get the best speakers that can afford". This morning, I came up with the same conclusion. As Turbox said, "With "bookshelf" speakers, they are just that, not really meant for a big sound stage. It depends on what you want, and by the sounds of it Bookshelf isn't going to cut it for you". I think I was fooling myself that bookshelf speakers would work for me because of my tight budget. I've had the DBX Soundfield V speakers with 15" bass drivers, for over 25 years, to me they have always sounded super. Figured now, with both ribbon tweeters blown last month on the speakers, good a reason as any to upgrade to another long term pair of speakers. The way it looks now, I may be able to bite on the Heresy III in a few months. The other suggested speakers mentioned on previous posts is way out of my grasp for sure. But with the Heresy III, I am actually getting excited on owning them, unlike the bookshelf speakers, I really couldn't get in the zone for them. Watch your local "Craigslist" and have some cash on hand, Klipsch Heritage don't usually last long. [] I picked up my '79 La Scalas from the original owner for $1100 and put another $300 into Type AA/A Crossovers from Bob and Michael Crites and I never EVER think about "upgrading" my speakers. It's a great feeling at a great price. There's a quote that goes something like.... "It takes a lot of money to find out you don't need to spend a lot of money on speakers/gear". Keep your eyes open and ask questions. We love this stuff and this is a great "Family" forum that will be glad to help. Dennie
  9. Dolby Labs, HT Speaker Guide -------> CLICK HERE I have two in-wall and two in-ceiling speakers for my rears, for a 7.1 set up and it sounds great. Dennie
  10. The first time I heard The Beatles "Love" on DVDA, in 6.1 surround sound, I was moved to tears! Even if you're not a big fan of The Beatles, this is an amazing accomplishment! A BIG TWO THUMBS UP.... Dennie
  11. A BIG..... I've always said: Get the best main speakers you can afford, you won't be sorry! Go with the Heritage line, again, you won't be sorry! BTW, Welcome to the Klipsch Forums Jerome, we're glad you're here. [<)] Dennie
  12. Yeah, but you've always been crazy like that!!!! ...... Dennie
  13. Beautiful, Congratulations!!! [<)] Dennie
  14. That's about the same price I got from a "tech" up here in Sacramento, to replace a leaky cap in a subwoofer I bought on CL. If he sounds trustworthy, let him do it and go through the rest of it, to make sure it is all up to spec. Good luck and keep us posted, Dennie
  15. No I don't, but my friends at "Parts Express" probably do ----> CLICK HERE Dennie
  16. Or Home Depot/Lowes where you can buy it by the foot. [] BTW, Welcome! [<)] Dennie

  20. Voted!! [Y] Jason Helms Band vs. Taylor Hodak Band Jason Helms Band - Hometown Hero (67%, 205 Votes) Taylor Hodak Band - Someday (33%, 103 Votes) Total Voters: 308
  21. Congratulations, those are BEAUTIFUL!!! [<)] Now, move that desk, it's really messing up the sound! It is a great day and we know you feel like a "kid in a candy store"! Dennie
  22. If you're using a HT Receiver, set the speaker size to SMALL, it will ease the load on the amp(s). You may want to add a sub to fill in the bottom end, but it sounds like the Sony is straining to produce those SPL's at full range. Keep us posted, Dennie
  23. Great article and comments, thanks for posting it. [Y] Dennie
