  1. Can't post the link. Look them up. They go great with Heritage.
  2. I'll take it. I'm out of the country, Michael. Send me paypal info and I might be able to get it to you. If not, I'll be home on the 13th. Thanx, Captain Jim
  3. If drinking is your problem; stop drinking; problem solved. If drinking is your solution to your problems, a different approach is required. There is help.
  4. Now you've gone and done it. Welcome to the place of no return!!! Before you pass final judgement, make sure the crossovers are up to date. When I replaced mine, it was like removing the sheet that was over them. I don't recall anyone going from Heritage to Reference!
  5. My room is 16 x 26. I use Klipschorns as fronts, a pair of Heresy ll's wired in series as center, Heresy ll's as rears. Couldn't be happier! Fronts on the short wall.
  6. Dtel will appreciate this. In talking to my aunt about my south Mississippi family tree, I found out I was actually related to myself! More than once!
  7. I have all my money tied up in D bills. D light bill D phone bill D rent bill...
  8. If I had to choose, I'd get a tube integrated. I'm all tubes.
  9. Niles DPS-1 I use a pair to switch my corner horns from 2channel to fronts for my HT. The only bad feature is the connections are very small and close together.
  10. Mark's comments about wattage are words to be reckoned with. As with most everything in life, there are compromises. Higher power, less detail. My journey has led me from higher powered ss amps to low powered tube amps. I currently have 7 pair of tube monoblocks and love them all. My Welborne DRD 45's at 1.5 watts are currently my favorite. I haven't been able to find any lower powered amps! That said, I have my Klipschorns switched as mains for 2 channel with the Welbornes and as fronts for my home theatre with a Emotiva 125 watt amp with a simple Niles switch. For critical listening, I use tubes. For full tilt rock and roll, I switch the Niles and crank her up! Best of both worlds.
  11. What Moray James says makes sense to me. That's why I just purchased a preamp with a remote volume control because I'm tired of getting up to adjust the volume for every different recording.
  12. Buddy Guy-Rhythm and Blues Allman Brothers-Eat a Peach or Live at Fillmore East Joe Bonamassa Charlie Musselwhite and Ben Harper Gary Clark, Jr. It's all blues-everything else is zippy-de-do-da Townes VanSant
  13. I have a pair of Sinewave 45 tube monoblocks which bumped my Welborne Moondogs 2A3 out of first place with my Klipschorns. They are tube rectified, built in bias meters, hum pots, very professionally built by a custom Canadian amp builder. It comes with Electro-Harmonix 6c45pi drivers, Mullard 5V4G rectifiers, and NOS Tung Sol 45 output tubes. They sounded the best I had heard in my system until I found a pair of Welborne DRD 45's that only are incrementally better; probably because they came with a pair of Emission Labs ($800.00 a pair) tubes. I'm keeping the Welbornes because I have 2 other pair of Welborne amps. If you are interested in them, pm me and we can talk further. Significantly under 2K.
  14. It appears as if I have a Blueberry on the way!
  15. I'm looking to switch things up a bit. I'm looking for a tube pre with 2 outputs and a remote control. Does anyone have perhaps a Juicy pre with a remote, a Cary SP3, Odyssey Candela, Manley Shrimp.... collecting dust? Let me know what you have or recommend. Thanx, Captain Jim

  17. I could eliminate the switch, have a shorter run from amp to speakers on my 2 channel system. Because I have it just about as good as I can get it, so it's time to change something!
  18. OK, here's the deal. I have an opportunity to obtain a pair of Cornwall 1's for a very reasonable price. I currently have my Klipschorns switched through a Niles switch as fronts for my home theatre and also for my reference 2 channel system. I was thinking about buying the Cornwalls and placing them directly in front of my Klipschorns, using them as fronts for my home theatre, and leaving the Khorns just as 2 channel. Can I get away with having the Cornwalls butting up to the Khorns? Am I totally insane? I don't need deep bass from the Cornwalls for HT as I have a SVS sub. Ideas?
  19. Is it too late to get on this roadshow? I would like to try these out on my Khorns.
  20. Because they sound so dadgum good with horns! I have always bought my tube amps used. I don't think they actually cost anymore than a transistor amp and the sound IMHO is so much better. Beware, though, once you start on tubes, particularly SET's, it's very hard to stop. At the moment, I have 7 pairs of tube monoblocks and 2 other integrated amps.
