  1. Lola might be stretching the rules, Thebes! How bout: Angie Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen Elizabeth Reed
  2. You need at least 1.5 watts! That's what I'm using for my 2 channel system-Welborne 45 DRD tube monoblocks into Khorns. I have the Khorns switched through a Niles amp switch to use also as fronts for my home theater and power them with a Pioneer Elite 92thx processor through an Emotiva LPA-1 amp. I can't hear any hiss. 80 watts will be plenty of power. In my opinion, Emotiva builds first rate gear.
  3. That Outlaw 2150 is a very cool device. I have heard it on Khorns and it works well. I would also look at Emotiva gear. Great stuff.
  4. C'mon Boys! WOuldn't They Be Great For Background-White Noise!
  5. I've got DRD 45's hooked up to Khorns, Moondogs with LaScalas, and Laurels in the cedar chest if anyone wants to audition anything. Come to Florida-nice and cool this time of year!
  6. The address comes up as an automotive stereo shop. Try to arrange an appointment in person to inspect the gear. Tell them you are in town on business and see what happens.
  7. Absolutely top notch gear. I love mine. It has performed flawlessly.
  8. Don't think too long! This will disappear quickly. These are as scarce as hen's teeth. If I didn't have 2 Merlins already, I would be all over this.
  9. Is it on BluRay yet? I prefer my skanky soundtracks in hi-rez!
  10. "A benign form of insanity" ??????? Not at my house!!! It's a full blown malignancy for which I refuse to cure or even treat!
  11. I bought some KnuKoncepts Karma speaker wire from Ebay and terminated it myself. You can buy different gauges and different lengths. It is all oxygen free tinned copper. Works for me.
  12. no affiliation-but I did talk to the seller and bought a pair of DRD 45's he sold another guy These match exceptionally well with Klipsch's http://app.audiogon.com/listings/tube-welborne-labs-starchiefs-45-set-monoblocks-2013-02-28-amplifiers-11101-astoria-ny
  13. Someone should grab that Bottlehead gear. I used the same system with my LaScalas and it was sweeeeeeeet. That's a deal.
  14. Doesn't he know if you live in Florida you should wear a hat when you are outside in the sun?
  15. I have been running a pair of Heresy ll's as my center for my home theatre for several years now. I have them positioned on either side of the console that holds my TV. They sound better to me than a single Academy that I have. I have them wired in series=not parallel like you would jump a car battery. Positive from amp to positve left speaker-left speaker negative to positive right speaker then negative right back to amp -. Works fine.
  16. I've been using a Niles DSP-1 for several years with no complaints. I use my Klipschorns as fronts for my home theatre and mains for my 2 channel system. Emotiva LPA-7 for home theatre and custom 45 tube monoblocks for 2 channel. Best of both worlds!
  17. I use a pair of Heresy ll's as my center. I have them wired in series, with one each on either side of my console that holds my reciever, amps, bluray player, cable box and power conditioner. The amp sees it as one 16ohm speaker. It works just fine and sounds better than the single Heresy I have tried.
  18. I use a Foreplay+Paramour (bought, not built) with my LaScalas and the sound is almost equal to my Moondogs and Khorns. I think you will like them. Bottlehead gives great customer support.
  19. Dtel, Most days it's pretty darn good. But when it ain't, it really ain't! Today is good. Two days ago off New York.... Not so much! Full gale,35 knots,6 foot seas on the nose.
