  1. I understand what your friend is going through. I have been wearing hearing aids for a few years now, my newest ones have 5 seperate channels which cancel out certain freq. The aid still have a chance of not doing aproper job. But they do a better job than the old ones. A lot of times I just smile and shake my head. When listening to music I have found out that it is better just to remove them and turn it up. Best of luck Cigarbum
  2. Well, I like the Belles best. They are the only pair of Klipsch speakers I regret selling, they went to Winchester21. They were slightly modified and sounded grand. Cigarbum
  3. That is a fine smoke my friend, enjoy. Cigarbum
  4. I miss you guys also. Just lt me know what I can do for you. I sure wish you were up here around these parts, we had some good times drinking, smoking and telling lies. Just got out of the hospital, had a piece of melanoma removed from my shoulder, I believe everything will be fine. Check you later. Bob

  7. I am in the process of putting together another system. For the power I have been testing and listening to several things for the past several months and have come to the basic conclusion what I like the best. The choices haves been a Stromberg Carlson 430 (Craigs rebuild), 2 Marantz MA500 mono blocks, Sansui 7900 and a 9900, both recently rebuilt, a Fisher 202B (Craig rebuild), the last is 2 Fisher CA880 that I have not listened to because I don't know how to hook then up, they are integrated ampsand sound nice individually. The speakers have been some older B&W that are pretty decent, and a decent CD player. What I have found that I like the best is the Fisher 202B, it has all very nice vintage tubes and just sounds good. Comments or suggestions are welcome. Cigarbum
  8. Well, being a Beatles fan from the get go, and after reading all the comments I'm not sure what to purchase. I have a pretty decent system and want to listen to them the way I remember way back when. Are there any good suggestions for purchase without having to sell the house, just saying, good value and reasonable cost. Cigarbum
  9. I feel for you, I had this done 2 years age, full replacement, ball and socket, 12 weeks of therapy and it still hurts.
  10. I still think they are kind of cool. Cigarbum
  11. This may sound a little radical but unless I am listening to my systems I keep them all unplugged so far it's worked pretty good best luck guy. Cigarbum
  12. Has anyone had any experiences using the Leslie speaker. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of an application for the speaker whether it be for a center channel or possibly a single rear speaker when listening to strictly to channel stuff. I haven't heard one of these speakers in a long time but I was just wondering if maybe something kind of fun to play with and get maybe a little bit different sound out of my system. Any information or recommendations would greatly be appreciated thank you very much for your attention. Cigarbum
  13. Boy, some of you take all the fun out of this stuff. cigarbum

  15. Has anyone tried to build DIY 402 horn, well that sounded close to a manufactured model?? cigarbum
  16. I don't know if it makes any difference but I believe the JBL 2482 goes down to 300. Cigarbum

  18. Just got done flunking out of college, working for Delta Railroad Construction. That's where in career in the railroad started. When from there to Jessup, Maryland, and was hired by the B&O RR which turned into Chessie System and then CSX, retired after 34 years service, did good. Cigarbum
  19. From what I remember of McDonalds, sitting at one in Ashtbula, Ohio, must have been about 1969, reading the sign, 2,000,000 SOLD The cheap ones, Olean, New York, about 1959, Carols Drive In, Hamburger was $0.10 and Cheeseburger was $0.12. Yap, I'm old Cigarbum
  20. I believe I have a couple respectable sounding systems. Now if you really want to make them sound bad, get hearing aids. I recently got two very high priced digital hearing aids. The first time I turned on the system, boy I have something wrong here, checked everything out and seemed to be functioning fine, went upstairs and tried the other system and same thing. I took the hearing aids out, the systems were back to that wonderful sound I have become accustomed to, these digital things they put in your ears to make you hear better do help hearing most thing better but when it comes audio systems, they suck. There is no 2 channel separation , no sound stage, no nothing. I guess that is the price you pay for in your younger years of too much loud music, too many guns. A year in Viet Nam, that was before they ever hear of ear plugs, that crap would make your ears bleed. The lesson learned, take care of your hearing now and you will still be able to appreciate good music when you get older. I guess for now, take the hearing aids out and turn it up. Enjoy Cigarbum
  21. Got the Klipsch 2.1;s today, all hooked up. The Apple never sounded better. Thanks Guys Cigarbum
  22. Well, I purchased a set of the 2.1, should be here in a few days. Cigarbum
  23. Marvel, I believe it is a newer model, I only have had it about a year. With the Boston speakers it sounded respectable, I don't want to get real fancy, just decent sound. The simplest I guess is get one of the Klipsch 2.1 multimedia, there is a bunch of them on ebake. The only place to plug the whole mess in is a headphone jack on the back. Thanks Cigarbum
