  1. Just watching a video about Adam Trombly (http://projectearth.com/about/adam-trombly), who was a friend of John Lilly (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_C._Lilly), staying at Lilly's house when diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer and 2-4 months to live, and in constant pain. An Iranian doctor suddenly arrives at the house, having been given a message during meditation to show up with a medical bag filled with Ketamine. As Adam lays on the floor of John Lilly's living room, "with my feet pointed between his two big Klipschorn speakers there..." (24:35) Ep 6 - Adam Trombly Recalls Stories of John C Lilly

  3. Are there any good diy recone kits? If possible, I would like to use the existing woofer basket. Those I've seen use the foam surround, which don't seem to hold up very well.
  4. I need a replacement for my Forte woofers, and wanted to stay with Klipsch drivers. Will the K-28-E work in the Forte?
  5. LSU Tiger Stadium "...includes eighteen Jericho Horns and six “Rock Monster” subwoofers. Fourteen Danley J3-64 full-range Jericho Horns comprise the bulk of the new system, while four Danley J4-31 high-frequency Jericho Horns contribute to the system’s amazing high-end throw. Six Danley TH-812 “Rock Monster” subwoofers fill out the bottom of the system with thunderous low end. Four Danley SH-96s, four Danley SH-64s, four Danley SM-80s, and twenty Danley SH-MINIs provide fill for areas not directly covered by the Jericho Horns. A 32-channel Yamaha LS9 provides a familiar front end, while a QSC Q-Sys processing system feeds twenty-four Lab.gruppen PLM 10000Q and 20000Q amplifiers behind the scenes." http://blog.svconline.com/briefingroom/2014/01/15/lsu-roars-with-danley/
  6. I'm sorry you took it that way, I just thought it would be pretty obvious to someone that calls themselves an "advanced member" with the thousands of posts written here about this very subject. Unfortunately, it's easy for either of us to come off in ways that were not meant to be, and this is clearly the case. I originally misinterpreted your intent as total sarcasm base on your "excuse my ignorance" opening statement along with your Advanced Member title. No offense meant either way, I'm sure. No bother at all, we are all here to figure all this out. ClaudeJ1, I owe you a very sincere apology for my rude reply. You were correct. I was wrong to take offense. Please forgive me. I'm truly embarrassed to have started something that has taken away from the topic of the post. My behaviour was inexcusable.

  8. Please delete my membership to this forum. Thanks.
  9. I said, excuse my ignorance, but you have to get all high and mighty. I was just curious. Sorry for the bother. Jerk.
  10. Excuse my ignorance, but I was wondering why the use of commercial loudspeakers in a residence? Apart from the obvious increased sound levels, what other benefits are provided by this setup?
  11. Just curious if anyone has heard any of the Danley Labs products, and what was their impression. They were recently installed at a local college football stadium, and were said to be impressive. A Youtube video was made of the test, but you can't tell much about sound quality from a video.
  12. Wall mounting KL-650-THX's and ceiling mounting (fly) KL-525-THX's. Any suggestions on best hardware. Spoke with rep @ Omnimount, who indicated they no longer produce mounts to hold speakers of that size. Any help would be appreciated.
  13. Thanks for ruining my day! LOL. Why do people do such things! Do they really think that is "appreciating" such a fine speaker?
  14. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-Palladium-P-39F-2-TWO-Floorstanding-Speakers-/190695540408?pt=Home_Theater_in_a_Box&hash=item2c665706b8 Some dings, and couple of woofers appear damaged...
  15. Klipsch doesn't have any information on the kp-600, among other many discontinued speakers. It's like it never existed, although it seems to have been popular with pro audio. Does anyone have info on kp-600? It would be nice if Klipsch could update the discontinued pages, with photos and info. They must have this info somewhere...
  16. Has Klipsch considered producing a line-array system? I was looking at photos of the stage at Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana, and they use a large line-array. Not sure who the manufacturer is...
  17. I have an RC-62 II Center Speaker that I need to mount to the wall above a plasma tv. Is there a mount for this speaker, which would allow downward tilt?
  18. Flipping through the channels tonite, I came across the HBO show titled "Treme", filmed in and about New Orleans. I've been slightly interested in the show, as I live in LA. The scene I caught was a recording session in the episode "That's What Lover's Do", and there in the corner, stacked on other speakers was a Cornwall without the grill. They know good sound in NOLA!
  19. I install HT systems, and have had experience with several. Onkyo, known for years to have good products, have recently been troubled by poor QC. Can't go wrong with Denon. I just installed a new Yamaha RX-V365, running 4 Heresy's, VC-25 center channel, SW-350, and it rocks the house. Also check out the Pioneer line, including VSX-819H-K and VSX-519V-K.
  20. I recently had a major mix-up in speaker connections, using 4-conductor wiring, where both positive connections went to one speaker and the negatives to another. Someone indicated that I would "have to dope out the wiring to get things back to normal." What is meant by "doping" a speaker wire?
  21. Thanks Gil, What you you mean by "dope out the wiring to get things back to normal"?
  22. Haven't checked the amp. I'm more concerned with the speakers.
  23. I don't think the amp was damaged. I connected the speakers to another amp that I know is functional, made sure the connections were correct, and still no sound. Is there something that should be checked within the speaker?
  24. I have an installation of in-ceiling speakers, using 4-conductor wiring. Well, the wires were mixed up in a connection, with the positive connections going to one speaker and the negatives to another. After the mistake was corrected, neither speaker will work. Are they ruined, or can they be repaired?
