  1. Like Yo Stuff, Brother! I was just checking out the Mac page http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/. Had no idea they were making car audion equip. Man, that's sum great stuff. Don't know if you ever visited the listening room at Hope, but they used a McIntosh 2500(?) for power. Sounded sweeet! How do you like the Belle's? I'm considering a Belle as a center channel for my Kwhoppers. Do you know if they can still be purchased as a single?
  2. Speaking of car audio, I didn't know that McIntosh was producing auto products. Anyone familiar, or have heard, the Mac for car? http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/
  3. Hey, did you check out this site. I've seen this page before, but could offer valuable info for your project. http://www.belgaudio.com/kcmap.htm
  4. Dave, Did you check out this post on ebay? Mids you're looking for. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1395523554 Also, a pair of C'walls are for sale on ebay. Check it out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1395548775 and http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1396105061
  5. Okay, Okay! So, posting my BS button was a "little?" lame, but I thought you guys would like to see it! Back in the day, there was a little basket full of BS pins, sitting on a table in the entrance hall of the Klipsch facilities. I grabbed a handful, and this is the only one remaining. I display prominently on top of my monitor to let others know what wonderful creations are born of this computer. BS!
  6. Can any moderator tell me if there was an engineer with the last name of Noble (or Nobles) at the Hope facility during the late '70s or early '80s? Just curious, but I think that was the engineer's last name who gave me a tour of the factory. Also, what was the VP's name who developed & designed the slanted base for the Heresy II's?
  7. Has anyone heard the Avantgarde horn speakers (http://www.avantgarde-usa.com/home.html)? Supposed to be good, butt... I just moved back to Louisiana from Atlanta (missed the mud between my toes and the moss in my hair), and never took the opportunity to visit the HornGuys Atlanta showroom (only distributor of Avantgarde in US). Take a look at the horn-loaded? woofer section on the webpage. Man!...looks like a bad piece of metal-art! Get your wife to place THAT in the LR! Anyway, anyone heard these thangs?
  8. Man, if you got a C'wall, I would try that! That speaker has a tight low end, and could hang with the k'whoppers through most of range and efficiency. I'm looking for a Belle as a center for K'horns. For anyone out there, can you still buy single Klipsch speakers? The single Belle was long the suggestion of Paul for a center speaker. Maybe I'm a snob, but would like to have NEW Belle.
  9. Can we say mo-money-than-brains. I was really into the high-end speaker scene for a while, and the more I saw the more ridiculous it seemed. $3500 for a 2-meter cable? $100,000 for a pair of speakers? I would place the K-horns up against any of these so-called hi-ends. Honey, the central air on the dog's italian villa is out again, and the cat needs a new Ferrari)
  10. I have a 2000 TL, and I think for the money, it is one of the best buys on the market. I paid $28k, and have had no problems. Maintenance is inexpensive, and the dealership service is top-rate. Plenty of power, and you can make a couple of inexpensive tweaks for a few more hp. MPG is great (approx. 30mpg @ 90mph on the interstate!). I've had it to 120+, and smooth as a baby's ars. As to the Bose (my first tour of the Hope facility was by a EE who took a class from Dr. Bose at MIT. Spy!), they're ok. I had a friend who took out the back rest on the back seat, and put in Heresy's!
  11. Yep, it's an original "bull****" pin collected upon first visit to Hope, circa 1977. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Paul on this visit. Considered very fortunate. "Them hairy sum*****es make radios out there, don't they?"
  12. Thanks, Dick for that verbose acknowledgment of the obvious. My native Louisianians have a knack for tact! Anyway, will you guys have a tour of the plant? The last time I was in Hope, a couple of years ago, I was given a hearty handshake and the key to the Klipsch museum. That was interesting, but... I toured the plant twice in the late 70's/early 80's, with the last tour including the R&D facility where they had just constructed the new anechoic chamber. The chamber has a 4-ton door (watch them fangers!) designed for testing the corner horn (hm? go figure.) Back then, only one or two types of speakers were constructed on certain days, and each speaker was hand-carried from process to process. Have a great time, and hopefully get some photos to share (one thing I didn't do.) ------------------

    Sharing a DSL Modem

I have a network of three computers which share a DSL router. All works fine, except access to the SMTP at my ISP. The #1 computer, where the DSL modem is physically located, has no problem. It is the other computers which have a problem is sending mail. Any thoughts?
