  1. Does anyone have spikes on their RF-5's?
  2. Can anyone tell me the size/thread of the RF-5 foot for spikes? If I remove the feet will the thread and size be the same if I want to add spikes directly to the speaker? I'm not even sure if "feet" is the correct term but I want spikes. Any feedback is appreciated.I would also like to find copper colored spikes but it seems that any "copper" spikes are brass. Any suggestions? Muchos Gracias
  3. I have one RF-5 that has marks,/dented woofers. They sound fine but I want to know if I buy a rc-7 can I swap the woofers? Will it be the same? I'm asking because I have found an rc-7 before very cheap. Sounded great but did not look good.
  4. Well as of today they are. I went over to my friends house and had audiophile overload. He had his new stuff in a box for a while until his "man cave" was ready. He has the new Pioneer Elite Kuro 61", (Which is AMAZING!) and some high end speakers made in England, sorry I don't know the brand today was a lot to take in. An Amp and Pre Amp with tubes and so on. He even has a decibel meter. I'll post pictures if he approves. So back to the toe in, I always thought and maybe I'm just trained to hear this. The broader the sound the better. I have had them angled forward and I can hear 3d sound so to speak. It's like everything is not coming from the speakers, it's in other places. Today I did the toe in and all I can hear is the speakers. So, I'll try it for a while and see, maybe it's just my room. It's avery open and unique place.
  5. Thank you so much. [] I measured so it will fit, I just have to move the tele and remove the upper glass to lower it into place as I did the RC-35. I can only hope that it get's here safely, I'll let you know when it does. It will not ship until Monday.
  6. So I read somewhere that if you have large speakers in the front, the "rule" is to leave the setting at small on your reciever. Is this true? Why? Where can I read up on this? As for LFE, is the the lower the hz setting the lower or boomie the bass and the higher the more punch or thud? Provided that the audio being sent is one or the other. Once I know how that works I can try to get the perfect settings. LFE in off mode, thoughts? M
  7. Any recomendations for "in wall"? Is there a downside to those?
  8. Well thanks, I obviously don't know how to search a forum. I thought searching for RC-7 in garage sale would show everything but it's a little different. Well I got one $400 like brand new. So if it ships well I'll be VERY happy. If not I'll try here again.Oh, I have a question, can you kill a post or thread or what ever these are called? I'm really new to the forum world and I jost wonder if say I'm done with this topic how do I let people know they don't need to read it? Thanks for all the help.
  9. Just trying a picture upload. The RC-35 was damaged so I'm getting the RC-7. I didn't know better.
  10. That's what I thought. I can't lower them because the entire wall is an opening to another room so tilting them is my best option. Knowing that RC-3II's will do I guess it comes down to what I can spend or the best deal when I'm ready to buy.
  11. This is kind of a duplicate of my center channel question. I know that with RF-5's and the RC-7 I should have RS-7's in the back. How much difference will it make with RS-3 or 3II's? Space is an issue on that wall. The speakers will be about 3.5 feet behind the couch and about 8 feet up and 7 feet apart. It seems to me that all the sound would simply go right over your head.I guess I could tilt them. I have polk OWM3's in the back now because of the angle and it was a temp fix. I know there is no comparison in quality but is it a waste if the sound is just going over your head, or will it? I need your expertise guys. Thanks, Michael
  12. If you can tell me how to post a picture I can show you what I have. It has a glass top. I know that sound is all that matters but I have to find the balance between wants and needs. If I knew I could get a nice maple RC-7 I would relax a little, I just missed one for $450 and would jump on another one at that price in a heartbeat. (My RF-5’s are maple) I could take this cherry RC-7 and paint/stain it black, it would hide the chips and water stains and everything else in the stand is black. I’m currently using RF-5’s an RSW-10d and my center is a tiny Energy Take 2 something so you see my need to upgrade. My rears are Polk but that’s a long story and temporary. I guess I just need to chill out because I am SO excited about all this I can’t stand it.
  13. Well I have decided on a RC-7. With everyone's help I found one locally I just need to decide how important the cosmetic condition is to me. It has scratches and water rings from a glass on it. The price is right; I just wonder what else could be wrong with it. Thanks again for all the help. Michael
  14. Well I found an RC-7 and here is another question. Long story short, I bought a RC-35 and it fit perfectly were it is going, it was damaged in shipping so I sent it back. The RC-7 is bigger and the entire top 2” will be blocked by the upper tier of the TV stand. Will that affect the sound enough that it would be a waste of money? The untrained part of me says ‘so what you’ll have an RC-7” but if it is being wasted because its potential is not being utilized then I should get something smaller. Thank you all so much for the advice.
